This is so useful, thanks for being so detailed and showing multiple effective angles to target the psoas differently

I've done this video twice, going in with very distinct lower back pain and both times my back has felt much more comfortable afterwards. Thanks, Tim!

Hi Tim, my psoas is hurting sooo bad that i find it terribly difficult to follow you. If my Psoas wasn't bad i don't think I would be here watching. Please do a youtube for those of us that don't make it a practice to help us to do these awesome poses. My left leg HURTS so bad that I'M CRYING! Please address those of us that are in pain! Thanking you!

I'm currently struggling except my psoas pain is in the lower left back. How did you overcome yours? I'm am also in tears much of the time from the pain.

I tweaked my psoas while running and spent about a week unable to bend over to pick anything up off the floor. I also had pain/spasms when sitting down, standing up and when twisting my hips and torso. My SIL shared this video with me and shortly after doing it I was able to fully bend over - albeit slowly - to pick things up from the ground without spasms or pain. I’ll be doing this quick workout regularly in order to stay pain free and hopefully return to running. I also added in the Yoga for Back Pain to help stretch and strengthen my abs and back to assist with posture.

I like your form and function comments with the poses. They helped me focus on isolation of the right muscles. Thank you!

Wow. First Psoas stretch that (1) Didn't hurt during or ache later and (2) Actually helped. I was a little unclear on which direction to point my hips in the pose on bended knee with back leg a little off to the side (around 7:19.) Should my hips remain rotated in line with my back leg, or do I try and square them to point directly forward? BTW, the strap stretch? On one side (and one side only) my low back popped several times when I lowered my leg with the strap. I didn't realize I am so unevenly tight...this helped tremendously. THANK YOU.

The first one stretches the "iliacus psoas". For me it was tight and this stretch and massaging (while lying down) fixed my back pain. You can feel the tightness when you put your hand in upper leg and feel some hard muscle . It is possible to massage it using one side of foam roller in upper(front-inner) leg .
