Tim is the fuken man! That's the mentality you need to have, life is not about money, when you think about money you will never attain!! When you think about passion, money will come.
Just look at conor. He used to chase glory, success and to beat the best. Then he did, after which he lost his spark. When you get rich you lose motivation to fight for anything else, unless it's the hunger for respect and glory of day one still in you.
It is tho... For regular ppl like us it is. We all want good house, good food etc. And the way to get it is through money. U might have a job which u really like but if its low pay how many are actually gonna pursue that?
tim is more realistic of the two. He knows that you are two losses away from being a nobody. Out of all the guys in the UFC only a handful are earning big money or staying around the sport for a long time. Most guys will either not be good enough to get to the UFC or get to the UFC and not be good enough to stay there for more than 3-4 fights. of course everyone should try their best, but don't bank on something where the odds are stacked against you.
Even the ones who are good enough to stay the lowest level is viewed as a gatekeeper and many could argue they do not belong either even if they win and lose 50% of the time.
Big facts . the guys in the NFL that get drafted 1st round make big money but everyone else is one injury away from getting cut. Only the top guys are rich af the rest are broke 6 months after getting cut. Worse in the ufc . 20k to win and 20k to show after taxes aint shit

There is nothing pessimistic about seeing things the way they are.
