As a huge Billy Joel fan, I tip my hat to this kid. He did an R&B vocal approach and just absolutely knocked it out of the park. Made the hairs of my arm stand up. As a fellow, tenor, singer, this guy is amazing. Best audition I’ve seen in years on American Idol. To me he’s the one to beat!
I keep clicking on here to watch him over and over- he’s truly amazing!
He's one of those contestants who was too good for the show to be honest. He needs to be performing Broadway or whatever he can get jobs. He's amazing he needs to be signed to a deal

Best audition I’ve seen in the last 5 years. Despite not hearing the future auditions, I say he’s the man to beat.
Singing and playing an instrument is already a skill. Doing both and killing it is just down right top level!

Wow, he's a different person when he sings. When he was talking he seemed unsure and self conscious, but when he sang - boom!! super star. What a mellifluous voice. Been dying to use that word. Tyson is on a great journey and I look forward to watching him from afar.
The way he sing really moved me and its really have connections to the audience .

I can watch him all day, all week. Come on, he should be holding concerts already, and I would watch them all. The singing was good; the piano skills, good; that he could do both, really amazing.

He was in a The Voice Teens doing the same song a few years ago. With all the talent in the world I am always a little surprised at how they rotate the talent through all the same shows. He is amazing though, I could listen to him all day long!

This kid is great. I remember the first time I heard this song. It was October 2001 and Billy Joel sang it at an outdoor concert to raise funds to support the first responders who worked the attack just a few weeks prior on 9/11. I was a flight attendant working for American Airlines. I was on a layover in Manchester, England. When we received the names of the crew members I quickly recognized one who I had hired/recruitered a few years prior. She died along with her husband. Theyi did not have any children and worked most every trip together. Usually the one they perished on. Flight AA77 that took off from Washington and was crashed into the Pentagon. May they rest in peace. I will just give thier initials: K and J, last name L. It has been 22 years, we will never forget you.
