@@grieferoncamera4600 Are you a Doctor Who fan? The Doctor hates pears. To each his own. Obviously, Asians like the pears, or they wouldn't grow them. They're becoming popular in America, too.
Odd the guy didn't know the names and claimed they were all ripe at the same time. The ripening season is almost as long as apples and tends to have a fair gap between the early and late groups.
I love Asian Pears, but I like them very cold so I put them in the fridge for at least 2 days!. They come out chilled, sweet, and juicy!..Mmmm!, mmm!, mmm!..
Yooooo, I knew I wasn't going crazy that these fruits exsisted! My jr. High use to give these fruits out for lunch sometimes. No body really ate them except me. Then they stopped giving them out for some reasons. But yeah, people were missing out on these bad boys.
Lepton Enthusiast: How much of any fruit did your classmates eat? Probably not much. After bingeing on candy & soda, fruit doesn't taste sweet, any more.
You have to gnaw on it in the best possible way. I agree, I would give that last one a 1 on sweetness and a 0 for tartness but for some reason I like it. The most similar thing to me is a chayote.
These pears are delicious! I actually have a Asian Pear Tree in my front yard and I think they grow through April to September! We get a lot of pears each year! We cant eat them all 😅😂
I have an Asian Pear tree but I don't have a clue as to what variety it is. Mine has fairly firm flesh but not rock hard like that last one. Also, mine also has a touch of a caramel flavor in its flesh, with apple and pear and with great sweetness. The skin though...tough and a touch bitter. This is one of the few fruits I almost always peel. Were any of the ones you tried here like that on the skin?
I love Asian pears so friggin much. I've only planted two trees in my orchard so far, but I need like a BILLION more.
asian pears are disgusting they have an aftertaste like artificial apple flavour

I usually buy these when my grocery store has them. I love peeling them and cutting them into chunks. YUM.
That's weird, I like to eat them.

Huh.

Interesting that my highschool gave these at lunch every single day and most people did not even eat them.

As I'm eating a can of walmart pears 😂😂
Oh, the good old preservatives and artificial sugar as well. N
Sounds like your last fruit was a bit green, lol. Great review! ☺️

I had these for the first time a year ago and fell in love with them, sooo so good. They are so juicy and sweet.
Interesting to a degree. You need to name the types in full or it ends up very uninformative.
He didn't have the names anymore... otherwise I would have. Can't win them all.
One of my favorite fruits. Where were you ? San Joaquin Valley, CA ???
i love singoo pear , look same as the last pear you ate but way much bigger .
I think I'v had the brown one once, but usually the ones i see are white.
What are the variety names for the second and third pear?
The third looked like Hosui. I want to know too!
The second one looked like maybe Shinseiki
The first pear is my favorite.
Also, dude that's a pretty nice shirt.
Thanks! I got it during my trip to Colombia and then dyed it in tea so it would be more worn looking. I really dig it.
Hey man I work in a produce department, and we just got lemonade fruit,I think you would enjoy them
Is that like a lemon?, what is it?.
Sounds interesting, I'll have to check it out :)
It's a lemon x Mandarin hybrid with more Mandarin than a Meyer lemon, and it is sweet enough to eat in your hand.it really tastes similar to lemonade
Which type? Do you mean the sweeter lemon or the berry? I really like New Zealand lemonade fruit. It taste like lemonade

I haven't had one with a bitter skin, but tough skin yes. No shame peeling them :)
What was the name of the last pear that you tried? I think that is what I have!
Useless without identifying cultivars
I feel like you missed a huge opportunity for a com-pear-ison pun for the title!
I had to stop myself from doing it :D
Remember the ya pear review ? Good times
I love Asian pears!
Why are Asian pears weird fruit? I saw them in a standard supermarket last week.
Nice. The only one I ever see in Texas resembles the third variety.
I have a nashi pear. If theres any seeds i want to see if i can grow it.
Weird Explorer, tell me, how many of these tropical fruits you have tried over the years would make good flavors for home made ice cream?
Vegan hunting show right here.
I wish pears didn't have the grittiness to them. I love the flavor and juiciness, but I can get past all the gritt :-(
Arent they invasive?
Eating an Asian pear while I watch! I sprinkle tajin on them. I peel and slice them though. I don't like the texture of the skin.
Čínske hrušky majú jemnejšiu štruktúru šupky-kože.😉
