Keep in mind that if you are only using the rule that you can't decorate the island with leaf items, it's okay to put down a crafting bench or storage shed briefly to craft/store if you pick them back up. I understand if you want to continue to challenge yourself, but you don't want it to be TOO tedious for yourself!
@Liam R its fine you feel that way, but I think its not cheating. She's already allowed herself to use items that move the game along with the caveat that she picks them up again, so why not a crafting table and storage shed if she's going to pick them back up?

I dont know if this has been suggested yet but you could do an archeology dig site for one of your builds with fossils, a placed shovel, dropped tools, and some weeds on top of a sand path

I think you can use workbench/storage shed. It's design an island without items. Not create an island without items. 👀 As long as the final island doesn't have items on it you're good!
for the villager houses autofilling: just like how your starters are always a jock and a sisterly, and your first campsite villager is always a smug, the first 3 plots are always a lazy, peppy, and normal. a lazy moves into plot 1, a peppy into plot 2, and a normal into plot 3. you found beau (lazy) and fauna (normal), but finished the peppy plot before hunting again, so it autofilled as soon as the plot finished. hope this helps! also, it's better to leave dreamie hunting for after those three plots if you care about the interiors, because those three plots (and your starters' houses) come with default interiors that you can't get rid of until someone else moves in, which probably doesn't matter for the 30 days island but might matter to someone else reading this
After 3 years playing ACNH, I still have not paid off my final home loan and got the storage shed 😅 and my island design is almost done too 😂 I be running to my house storage all the time. I feel you girl.
Nook miles build upon each other. Your first fruit was pears (100), your second was oranges (200) and if you plant say peaches next it will be (300). Should be anyway. Enjoying the series.
for the three plots that auto fill, they autofill when you enter a building after you completed the plot. the reason that you found no villagers on the island was because plot number 2 was the peppy villager, and you already got fauna as your normal, being plot number 3, or the only unfinished plot. (i’ve reset my island too many times)
The plots thing: put down the plot, as long as you dont finish putting down all the items, you can hunt. But once the plot is complete and ready for move in, it will autofill. Hope this helps!!!
you probably have an idea already lol but i think a winnie the pooh hundred acre woods inspired island would be super cute. like you could just use pictures for picnic blankets and decorate with wasp nests and tree stumps and i saw someone use mammoth fossils as heffalumps😭
oo you could also include the pooh sticks bridge and just have little signs dotted around. you could even decorate with your villagers, like having villagers to kinda represent the characters eg maple for pooh, gala for piglet, carrie for kanga and roo. lol just an ideaaaa :)

Suggestion: the rule should be amended to be that you can’t use items in the *final design* of Bearin! I feel like using items like the storage shed when building is needed !! So instead just have the rule to be no items/furniture can be in the final island design :)

Suggestions: Flower field, forests with just flowers, weeds, fences and stuff, Some sort of circle with tree stumps or the rocks, tree stumps can be used as seating, I think a digsite could work without items, sand paths with dropped shells would be cute, but dropped items will make 5 starts harder :') Keep up the good work Raven
i agree w others that as long as you dont leave the diy table or storage shed down as a decor item and just have it out while you use it that should be okay. its already going to be challenging enough as it is, i dont think you need to further handicap yourself but thats just my thoughts! so glad i just restarted my island, feels like we're playing the early game together!
I think it'd be totally fine for you to keep a storage shed in your inventory. You're not using it to decorate so its technically within the rules. Its more like a tool than an item. I also hate green beans and celery, they're the worst! And we have the same birthday too! ❤

Maybe you can use the room decorating tool to empty your pockets quickly and then you can just select everything to put into your storage at once? Although I don’t think there’s any shame in using a storage shed as it won’t be apart of the final build! 💕
I don’t know how far in advance you’re filming and I don’t know if someone else has mentioned BUT you can technically use fences because they don’t have the leaf icon! Good luck girly!

For the three plots autofilling-it autofills once you finish putting all interior and exterior items in/around the house for it to autofill. So, if you leave one item out of completing it, it will not autofill as it’s not considered a “complete plot” of land yet. 👌 Edit: I only know this because I’ve speedrun ACNH to completion over 10 separate times LOL 🙃
You should probably allow yourself to use crafting benches and a storage shed for quality of life and convince, since the premise of your island is to not decorate your island with furniture, those two don't really count
One time i finally got one of my villagers to leave and i accidently forgot to use my NMTs that day, and it autofilled with a villager that didnt fit my island AT ALL.
Fun fact! The first time Redd visits your island all of the art is genuine! It's a good time to call your friends over to buy art either for themselves or to help you out in donating it to the museum!

Back in the days of Wild World (my introduction to the series), there was NO visual distinction between real and fake art. It was all a guess. And art was set at random stupidly high prices- there was no one price for all art. It was all different prices. And the amount of times I saved up for a piece of art, bought it, and then was told by Blathers "this is fake" is insane. I used to hit Redd's tent with my axe back in Wild World, I would get so angry. An anger that has never died. So go ahead and say hate, Raven. It may be a strong word, but you're allowed to have strong feelings!

I am not sure if you will read this, however the first three plots have a specific villager type like i believe plot #1 is the lazy villager, 2 is the peppy and 3 is the normal I might have that wrong, plus i believe you have to find the villagers before you place them down because once they are furnished they will auto fill. you might be able to place them down and then search with out furnishing them but i have never tested it cause i use the nookmile islands to gain materials for nooks cranny and i find my villagers that way so i get nooks cranny before doing the plots.

The easiest way i've figured out to be able to hunt those first three houses for sure is to hunt before you put down any plots at all. That's right, you can hunt as soon for them as soon as you can use the airport!
Also for the storage shed you could craft and still use one, just carry it in your inventory and place it when you need it then when your done using it, pick it back up, but ofc it’s your decision

The fruit tree nook mile amounts go up every time, regardless of which fruit it is! All that matters is the number of different fruits you've planted before.

If you are thinking about doing a theme, I suggest jungle core. You could use the fossils to make like a Dino forest ❤
