ruclips.net/video/Bh0zigNPoec/видео.html Check out Rodney Jantzi, the man who's inspired me to keep playing my pump organ. He's as awesome as they come. We hope to meet him and his wife in person WHEN this Covid is over AND my body gets healed...i just had spinal fusion surgery gone sideways,...and both torn rotators makes impossible to play without serious pain.
It's nice to know there are still people out there who can appreciate these beautiful instruments. 20-30 years ago these could sell for over $1000, and now i think many are just trashed. I don't play, but I restored one. Cleaned out all the old dust and patched the bellows and it sounded nice.
I began learning to read music recently, am taking piano lessons and my dear sweet husband got me a 6 ft grand piano...i'm beyond thrilled, but i still love my old organ and my piano as well...hopefully learning how to read music will help me play much better!
I just got one old organ like this and there is a very worn text "Chicago Cottage Organs". I wonder it is genuine...but the front wall grille looks pretty same. It has: Bas koppel, Diapason, Dolce, Viola, Vox Humana, Forte 2, Dolce, Vox Celeste, Dolce, Melodia, Diskant koppel - knobs.
Tks Rodney...I just play the chords and right hand notes...when we get to heaven, will you please teach me? Of course I'll be in line for Bach and Virgil Fox....I've taken lessons, but time and drain bamage (LoL) from my AVM and chronic pain causes me to be stupid most of the time...But I'm so thankful I found this awesome Reed Organ on Craigslist for $195... was a poor minister and wife who refused to accept a penny more as I tried paying them $100 more because its like brand new and was rebuilt inside
I don't know where you got the 1864 date; but this is a lovely example from the 1890s. I do have a nice Prince melodeon, with a penciled date of 1864. It is only a single reed instrument, with a rosewood veneered case and cabriole legs, but it has a very pleasant tone.
sorry, just now seeing your comment...I've seen a few of those Rodney Handy YT ch...I'd like one of them...the paper states the date is written in pencil as well...it was fully restored and is in perfect condition..I hope it last until I'm gone...I play it every day
