He is! Thank you and same to you!
Keep encouraging your dad to write a book. He's an excellent historian. I hung on to his every word in this presentation. 👌🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
That's the plan! Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
My grandfather never educated me on being Grenadian, so.I appreciate your father's contribution to keeping the richness of Grenadian history alive. Thank you Mr. Frank.
You’re most welcome.
LOVE this historian. Has he written a book as yet? I can see a series for children!!!!
I’m trying to convince him to write a book but he hasn’t budged as yet lol
Please Edwin, write, write, write.
Your Dad has a wealth of history and knowledge. I will look him up whenever I come to Grenada for a tour. Thank you for sharing him with us.
Awesome! I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!
Your dad is a national treasure. I've learned so much in this video. Thank you both for sharing this wealth of knowledge.🤗
He really is! I am always in awe of just how much he knows about Grenada. You’re most welcome!

You're always doing a superb job Nezzle. Your Father is very knowledgeable.
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed! Yes he is!
Oh! HAPPY BELATED 48TH INDEPENDANCE DAY! YOUR DAD IS BRILLANT, A GREAT EDUCATOR. THANK YOU BOTH FOR THE GREAT CONTENTS.
Thank you 😊 yes my dad is really a walking history book! Glad you enjoyed the video!
I am extremely impressed, and grateful, with your knowledge of your history of Grenada. I hope your narrative is memorialized. We certainly were never taught our own history at high school. In fact the Government will be remised if this history isn’t compulsorily taught at school today.
My Caribbean education is so incomplete without the knowledge of our history. I wonder if there is a comprehensive history of the British West Indies. UWI would have failed us if there is not compendium. I congratulate you.
I definitely agree that it should be taught and this information should be available. However, some of it is available in books but unfortunately another issue is that many people don’t read. So the information remains in the books, unread.
Wow, your Dad is a walking history book. Encourage him to document his knowledge. Very interesting indeed.
He really is! I’m trying to get him to do so. At least it’s being documented in this way for now.
Edwin we need this information to be documented in our history. Bravo.
Indeed!!
Thank you 👍🏾 This information was so helpful and thoughtful! Your father is truly the nation’s living historian! My husband and I are moving to Carriacou soon (sometime in this year) and knowing this wealth of info adds to our appreciation of the country we’ve decided to call home. It would be our greatest pleasure to meet your dad in person. Job well done! Thank you for sharing.
Awesome! That’s nice that you’ve chosen to move to Carriacou. I’m sure he’d be pleased to meet you both as well.
I love history love to listen to other caribbean countries history as well as my country viewing from jamaica
That’s great! There’s so much to be gained from knowing and understanding our history.
Eddie! It was always a pleasure working with you at GBT.
I’m sure the feeling was mutual 😊
Colour ful history for sure and a lot of name changes.your father put it across so proffesionally.very interesting history.hope you all enjoyed your independence day.grenada to the world

Long may you and your family and of course the the spice island endure. 👏👏👏🤝👍

You’re most welcome, on his behalf. I’m glad you enjoyed the video and learnt a lot from it.
Happy independence day my country
Thanks and same to you!
Thank you and your dad for sharing his encyclopedic knowledge of our island. Our history was withheld from us and I am truly grateful to your dad for sharing. If I may suggest he do a podcast, i would be happy to pay to subscribe. I remembered listening to Mr. frank on the radio when in was a boy, so happy to see him doing well.
Aww thank you for your kind words. I'm sure he would love to read this. I don't think he currently has the time available to devote to a podcast unfortunately but I'll try to see when I can get him back on the channel again, hopefully soon.
April 2023 - We had an amazing day tour with Edwin, such a wealth of knowledge, injected with humour and passion. Glad to have been able to meet him. Matthew and Rita xx
That's so wonderful! I love hearing from persons who meet and interact with my dad. I'm happy you both had a wonderful time touring with him.
@@Nezzle as we drove out of the Coyaba he even pointed out a vehicle with a picture of you emblazoned on it!! 🥰

Wow!! Priceless, invaluable source of information. Your dad is a scholar.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the video and found it informative.
My wife and I are planing to retire in your beautiful Grenada in about two years, when she finally retires. Nevertheless, we are planing to go for a few weeks either in May or September 2022, Covid restrictions allowing. We will do our best to contact Mr. Frank and benefit from his amazing knowledge, not to mention that we want to leave behind the Canadian winters. Hope to meet you there and learn more about our future home. Greetings from Toronto.
Lovely! That sounds good. Yes, you should definitely reach out to my dad for a tour and I’d be pleased to meet you both when you visit God’s willing.
Thank you so much for all that you do to showcase our beautiful Grenada, which is much more than the Grenada tourist board has ever done.
If your dad has not yet written a book on the history of Grenada, he needs to write one. He shared an increadible amount of info.
Thank you both very much for an information packed 48th independence anniversary video.
You’re most welcome. He hasn’t written a book. I’ve tried to convince him but he’s convinced that the literature already exists but just isn’t read, which is true so I can’t really argue with that reasoning. But he may change his mind so fingers crossed.
Thanks sir for this very important History of Grenada.
You’re most welcome, on his behalf.
Big up your self frank
Very informative.
Very educational.
Nezzle i love what you're doing.

Wonderful! Thank you, we appreciate that!
Not boring at all. Wow, how informative this was. Mother born there in the 30s moved to teinidad. I been there 3 times and was totally ignorant of the history. Thank u for the enlighteningment.
You're most welcome. I'm glad you were able to learn from it and that you found it interesting. Thanks for watching!
A beautiful narrative of Grenada's history. I hope this information is documented somewhere so that it can be passed along.
Well this is one way of documenting it but fingers crossed for something more in the not too distant future.
Happy Independence Day to all Grenadians. 48 and counting. Stay blessed beautiful island
Thanks much and same to you!!!
Your Dad is amazing. Another great history lesson. There was so much I did't know. I wonder if that's the reason some people even now, say Granada instead of Grenada. Use to get on my nerves 😁. Granada being in Spain. Really enjoyed this.
Yeah I still have to correct people about that sometimes but it does make sense. Glad you enjoyed the history lesson!
Happy Independence day Salute to the people of Grenada Good People beautiful Island
Thanks much and same to you!

This is so true. We need to have these things taught in schools so that children can know their history. It’s important to know where you’ve come from. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Thank you Mr Frank for this wonderful history lesson. Very informative. I had no idea we had so many name changes. Besides Grenada, I especially like Camerhogne, which honours the original inhabitants
Yes I like Camerhogne too. At least we still have the park named in their honor. Lots of name changes have happened over time
Thanks. This was like a fast-track college course.

We have a town called Port Royal, it is located very close to the capital Kinston. It is not far from the Norman Manley Intl airport. A section of the town was submerged when sections of the capital were destroyed by an earthquake in 1907.
Interesting!

Thank you so much! Happy new year and happy independence to you too. I’m so happy you enjoyed the video and that you learned a lot! Most of what he discussed definitely isn’t taught in schools, unfortunately.
I would like to thank you and your father for this vlog, I am Grenadian and I never knew any of this, your father should be made the education minister of Grenada, so that Grenadian people could learn their history, because if you don’t know where you are from, you will not be able to plan where you are going.
I think that many of us don’t know a lot of our history unfortunately. I will try to have him back on the channel more often hopefully.
Great Job guys!!✌

Happy Independence my dear to you and your dad.
This was an excellent presentation. Very informative. Thank you👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Thanks hun! Glad you enjoyed it! Happy independence to you too!
Very informative. Wished you could have told about the lives of the emancipated thousands of Grenadians. They disappeared from the story except that the wouldn't work for former masters. Enjoyed it.
There’s so much to tell that it was difficult to put it all into one video but there will be more of these coming soon God’s willing.
Your dad's knowledge of Grenada's history is superb, my grandparents gave us some bits, and pieces of knowledge but not like him, a book deal sure would be nice, happy Independence Day.👍❤🇬🇩🇬🇩🇬🇩🇬🇩🇬🇩🇬🇩🇬🇩🇬🇩
I’ve been talking to him about doing a book but he’s not yet convinced. I’m glad you were able to learn a lot from the video. Thanks and same to you!!! 🇬🇩🇬🇩🇬🇩

This must be one of the most interesting and informative history lesson i have heard about grenada a
place where i was born. I truly enjoyed, Thank you. Sir. Happy independence to you all.
Awesome!! I’m so happy you enjoyed it and learned from it.
Both my parents were from Grenada. They were the Cromwells and Pierres. It would be informative to study how the different family names came about. Pierre is French while I would think Cromwell is English. Great history lesson
I think it has to do with the estates but yes that’s something I can hopefully get my dad to speak on in the future.
Hi Nezzle your dad put me back to history class and I had to pay attention. Lol,he's very knowledgeable. Thank you for this video
always.
😂😂😂 I’m glad you paid attention. I know history isn’t everyone’s favourite subject but it’s definitely a very important subject.
Wow your Dad is amazing in history he should give history classes thank you so much for sharing 💕💕💕🇬🇩🇬🇩🇬🇩
I guess this is his way of indirectly giving history lessons. I agree that he is a powerhouse in the history department.

We had a Cholera outbreak here in Jamaica as well., in 1851. Approximately 40,000 persons died as a result of the outbreak. The figure represented 10 per cent of the population at that time.
Yes I believe my dad mentioned that as well
Great job I enjoyed the lesson thank you both

Great job, Edwin. Very informative and engaging. Heck, downright professorial! My mother was born-and-raised in Grenada before she moved to Canada in 1967. She and I watched this video with great interest. Looking forward to more historical insights from the two of you on this channel. I would be interested in a video specifically on the history of slave labour in Grenada.
We’re so happy you both enjoyed it. I’ve noted your request and will pass it on to my dad. Thank you.
Great history lesson!
Thank you!
Nezzle, how are you? I'm keeping this short. Whenever your dad is on the 'program', notify me. I enjoyed the history lesson, because I learned so much from him. Also, how much notice does he need for tours? Thanks so much!
Lol turn on your notifications chica and you’ll know when he’s coming on. That way you won’t miss anything. Also, it depends on if he’s booked for the day or not. But feel free to communicate with him via email and see what he has to say (edwinnatfrank@gmail.com)
@@Nezzle ok thanks
I enjoyed watching and listening to your dad. He is an eloquent speaker. Has he considered writing a book.
I’m glad you enjoyed it. He’s thought about it but time hasn’t been available.
The colors on our national flag are just as symbolic as Grenada's the #black speaks of the hardships we experienced as a people coming out of slavery, the #green represents our lush vegetation (we are often times referred to as land of wood and water) and the #gold/ #yellow represents the beautiful sunshine we have all year round being a tropical island.
It’s interesting how similar our countries histories are
The first Maroon rebellion against the British in Jamaica culminated in a treaty in 1739. The British were unable to subdue the Maroons, however they had captured the drummers (among them Kromanti Cudjoe) who had been beating the war code for the rebellion. As the war had almost ended these drummers were imprisoned in Jamaica and finally they were expelled to Grenada, then a French-speaking colony, to live as free men. Kromanti Cudjoe became an ally of Fedon, who fought with the Jesuits to bring back French rule from 1795 - 1796. The British took 15 months but eventually crushed the Fedon rebellion in Grenada. Kromanti Cudjoe brought Fedon to Carriacou where he was kept in hiding for several months. When passage was arranged for his escape North through Petite Martinique, he was taken from Sabazan to the north of the island. Here he was hidden in a mausoleum for three days. He was fed by Mr. Sabazan, a cotton grower. Kromanti Cudjoe is buried on the Sabazan estate named after the owner near Breteche village. He died in 1823; his wife Zaroba of Dahomey, a slave, died in 1827, and was also buried in Sabazan, Breteche, on Carriacou. The story that Fedon turned his horse shoe backward and fooled the British into thinking that he went south to Trinidad instead of north to Carriacou is not a myth. This story has been passed on orally to a select few cultural historians on the island of Carriacou. We have found Kromanti Cudjoe’s grave. We know the well where he was given water before his passage was arranged to escape north through Petite Martinique. We know the mausoleum where he was hidden before his escape north. We have the pictures. We have even found documentation attesting to his being born in Clarendon, Jamaica from the slave register from 1813 - 1834.
Oh wow! Thanks for sharing! That's some great information!
What a fountain of information.
Thank you! I’m glad you found it useful.
