Man, I remember getting this cd for Christmas when I was 13 & I instantly fell in love with it. I even wore ski goggles on my head, trying to be like Spider 😂 🤦♂️. Cringe now, but cool then. I’m 35 now and still come back to this album! One of a kind.

They only should have stayed in this genre bit longer instead of becoming circus band. After all the different genres they have played its very easy to see that this genre was always their thing. I discovered these guys when they were touring Europe with Pantera, back in 2000. They totally blew Anselmo & co off the stage, party because they really sucked that night (thanks, Phil), bought the PM5K album with this song on it the very next day. Great stuff!
I think a lot of ppl took PM5K as a novelty, with their space sci-fi style and clothes, but Spider's voice is no joke. It has that great mix of power and rasp/gain when he pushes that's perfect for this style of rock. I got to see them on the Summer Sanitarium Tour way back in the day, they put on a good show.
I was going to their concert in Boston in 1999 but I heard it on the radio, on my way there, that it was sold out. But I went anyway, kept hanging around outside the venue (Avalon I believe) cracking jokes about whatever, about how I was someone´s bodyguard (someone who was in the guest list), the woman responsible for letting people in was laughing and stuff but didn´t let me in... at first... then all of a sudden she came back and said to security: "you know what? you can let this guy in, put him on my list". It was one of these events where having faith when all seemed lost actually paid out.
I remember rocking out to these guys and blasting faces in Unreal Tournament back in the day. HEADSHOT! lmao 1999 was angsty, angry and the rage felt goooood! 😂

90s metal in general is very underrated. Caught in between grunge, hip-hop, and coming right after all the 80s hair bands you had bands like Tool, Rob Zombie, Korn, Rage, Pantera, System of a Down and PM5000. Id also qualify Soundgarden's "Badmotorfinger" as metal.
Prong, Testament... Trouble... Nothingface, Mudvayne, American Head Charge, Puya... Machine Head if you wanna name some like actual badass stuff. Pantera you should've listed first... also include like Faith No More. I've like done tons of research on this music that I literally grew up on as a kid with... Sevendust. To me that's the much, much cooler stuff. The truly addictive bands that can take you someplace special... agree about 90's (into the early 2000's) metal being underrated but don't care for the bands you indicated other than the almighty Pantera. Even Dope are an upgrade from this... Static-X was respectable. Fear Factory like I could go on all day!
I thought Skrape were better than most... Stone Sour... Zakk Wylde came out with Black Label Society. Just trying to give credit where it's truly due... Korn I have mixed feelings on. Some of their songs were good... early albums have so much filler it's absurd
