Also very handy with small kids: a mini bottle of bubble solution, they sell them in packs of 10 or more for weddings/parties etc. Great for entertaining or distracting a child.
Thanks! If it was just me, I'm sure I'd just carry a knife and rub dirt in everything like a heathen 😂 The family is the real reason I became interested in EDC like this in the first place
I carry a lot of handy stuff on a binder ring. Safety pins, hair elastic, a ten bead rosary ring, and little stuff like that. My mom, grandma, and great grandma taught me to keep a few things around you can count on in an emergency. A bandana, a rain bonnet. We love the small and multifunctional in my family. Thanks for giving me some additional ideas.
@@ConansEasyDadCarry I am making Altoids stationary kit. Please suggest - 1) Liquid glue which can be used repeatedly 2) Transparent tape which can be cut without scissors 3) compact slim stapler
Great kit. I carry a similar dad kit. If you wear a ball cap, you can put a couple of the long zip ties inside the head band (guess it will work with any hat with a headband). You will never know they are there until you need them.
I’ve been watching Altoids survival kits/EDC since 2004 this is one of the best if not the best all-around kit practical. If you’ve got kids and I’ve got seven grandkids. Really enjoyed it I don’t understand why you’ve had so few views but I’m gonna pass it on if you don’t mind. It’s a little long. But a great video believe I’ve watched it two or three times. Thank you
Glad you enjoy it! feel free to pass it along- or suggest some more good ones! It is definitely a long one. I tend to ramble, and this one was off the cuff as it was. I think there's probably a lot of skip arounds on the viewing, and that's ok. I just hope I can offer at least 1 or 2 good suggestions for folks wanting to make life easier for themselves.
Great kit! Can see you really thought it through. As a suggestion get some of those trick birthday candles, because they will give light and if the wind blows won’t blow out very easy, and also especially in your toiletries tin, maybe glue a small mirror to the inside bottom or inside lid for seeing if you get something in your eye, or signaling
I did an update for the tin I carry these days, and a trick candle goes in ALL my kits now. I've been thinking of a mirror of some sort, I just haven't figured out how I want to do it yet.
I also carry a mini Bic lighter in all my emergency kits.. I take a tiny zip tie and wrap it around and underneath the button of the lighter so that the gas can't leak out accidentally..
I've tried that a few times as I've seen that in a lot of carries, but mine always cinch themselves tight! I've even had to throw a few lighters away because of breaking them trying to get the zip tie off!
Didn't have one in at the time, but trick candles are in all my kits now. Good for a laugh AND emergencies. Mostly of the "It's your birthday!?" variety, but still good for harsh conditions.
I prefer to use the Sucrets tin as it is about the same size just a little deeper. I know it is a little shorter in width but that depth works better for me
Really good kit. But don't count on those storm matches in wet conditions. If you have a way to do it add a cotton ball infused with Vaseline or Vicks. Good to get a fire going or chapped lips lol. Dry fast lighting tinder is very important.
You're not wrong! But this is my Every Day Convenience carry. There just isn't a good way to cram something like that in here. I actually carry a "fire starting kit" when camping/hiking as well, and wrap this in electrical tape around the lid. You're very right though- have GOOD DRY TINDER that lights easily when going out!
I got the survival bracelet from wish or ali express and the fero rod fell out with out me even noticing. But it has the same features and a torch too. So i know u get what u pay for lol.
Thanks for checking this one out! This was literally the inspiration for doing this channel! The risk of going budget is always there, but at the same time, I'd rather go cheap and find something I like, THEN invest if it's actually worth it.

Can any one tell me if i can buy tweezers the same size as the mini pocket knofe there? I havnt got any for my edc. And have a kid and always need tweezers.
The huge outside pen is pretty dumb. Electrical tape is cheap junk compared to duct tape. The rest is good, but you need a Fresnel lens card and the rubber bands should be replaced with strips of inner tube, because it's an excellent wet weather fire tinder. A better model Swiss Army knife has a pen and Philips driver.
You're not wrong that the pen is a little goofy (though very comfortable to use), and the rubber bands are only so-so as far as usefulness. The SAK could definitely use an upgrade, but I didn't want to go out and spend $20 for a "just in case" tin that would also add more bulk. You make very solid points though! The point of this video and the kit itself is cheap "everyday" around the house stuff that can be thrown together to be useful. I plan to make a couple more EDC: Every Day Convenience videos soon for some of the other stuff I carry regularly.
