There is also a built in "Bloom" effect in the Resolve Studio version, and the "Dehancer" plugin offers a bloom option as well. They are nowhere near as sophisticated as "Scatter", but in case someone wants to check out cheaper/free options... :)
Thanks for this video man! I've been using Promist 1/8 filters since early 2021 on all my lenses, and I too have run into these same issues. Definitely going to give this plugin a look since I switched to Davinci last year! Hope you're well, and miss our times at Osmosis Iceland! Much love
Hi Ricardo!! I've been a big fan of yours since I started in wedding videography. I hope one day to have the pleasure of meeting you in person :) I have also had the problems you are having with these filters and that is why I stopped using them, I started using the dehancer plugin for the bloom effect and the truth is that I am very happy with the results, since I am the one who decides the amount of effect that each scene needs.
Hi, and thank u for the feedback 🙏. Yes I know really good also Dehancer and is great but is different. Scatter is sooo good for emoulating the diffusion filters, I hope one day there will be a Final Cut version of it
I have a K&F Concept Shimmer Diffusion 1 which is comparable to the glimmer glass I think. Really like the sublte touch it gives the image. And they are not quite as pricy as the tiffen ones.
@@RiccardoFasoli I watched tons of comparison videos beforehand and I chose the Shimmer for that reason because it is really subtle. I mostly couldn't even tell if the filter was on or not without having a direct comparison.
I was on the fence about buying a pro mist filter, but now I might consider looking at the plugin. I wouldn't mind spending $500 on the plugin, but I do all my colour correction in Final Cut Pro and DR might increase my editing time.
Great video Ricardo. How do these filters work with an ND filter? Can they be attached on top? Does anyone have experience using them for photography also?

I have also a couple of K&F but I am not so happy with them. I found them too strong. But that s my experience with them 🙈

Hey Ricardo,
What in your opinion was the best strength of Glimmerglass for your films? 1/4 seems to be the consensus online.
We use the glimmerglass 1 👌

I have the same problem. I hope for a Final Cut version of it
