*NOTE* This video isn't meant to say there's anything wrong with fan theories or that fans for some reason aren't allowed to hold them. This video just seeks to explain why some of the more common fan theories regarding the Godzilla series, some of which are mistakenly held as fact by many fans, are certifiably untrue.
Actually in Godzilla vs king ghidorah with time travel I guess the godzillasaurus is Godzilla's brother
Wikizilla spacegodzilla
Wikizilla you can do a video of SHOWA GODZILLA or GODZILLA JR.
PLEASE!!!
Wikizilla _OK_
Wikizilla I love these videos. Im learning tons of new facts about Godzilla! For a while I thought I knew everything about Godzilla. Im glad that there is more to know!
why is Godzilla having Gills a big deal he's an aquatic monster that swims arcoss the ocean constantly
SkySlasher idk
Imo showa doesnt have gills
Its been said the reason holes are there are for the actor
But the gill thing came along even tho in godzillas revenge it looks like hes breathing normally underwater and not using gills
TheDarkness 666 that’s the official reason but in universe it make sense he has gills he lives in the oceans how can he survive
SkySlasher Have you heard of cetaceans? What about mosasaurs?
J. Johnson no
SkySlasher I hope that's sarcasm.
I don't think the gills make Godzilla 2014 less cool actually it fits to him
It looks natural
It looks natural to me
it look's normal to me i guess
And it makes sense because otherwise, Godzilla would have drowned.
It looks good and removing gills implies that he would need to go outside to get air and I prefer the idea that he can swim for years without oxygen above water
I met someone so uneducated of godzilla that she thought the skull crawlers of Kong were godzillas. you read that correctly
Hybrid Hero oh boy 😂😂
Seriously wtf!?!?!?!?
Kill me already...
bruh dey must be my disabled brothers

Only Timeline more confusing than Zelda Timeline is the Godzilla Timeline
*FNAF Timeline intensifies*
Halloween timeline is the worst, out of 11 movies theres 7 timelines, thats almost a new timeline per movie!
@@wadeash2937 Shrek Timeline
there is nothing confusing in godzillas movie timeline. see it as different eras. Showa, heisei, millenium 3 eras. and this doesn`t mean that all the movies of one era are conected most of them are single movies.
Xmen timeline.😬😬
We've seen in a number of movies that Godzilla has no problem fighting underwater. When Kong and Godzilla tumbled in the water, Kong very wisely left the scene. He put up a great fight, but no way can Kong fight underwater for very long. That's just how I interpreted the ending.
And that's likely why Tomoyuki Tanaka retroactively declared the fight a draw.
Agreed.
Wikizilla Was the retcon official?
It was published in an official book written by Tomoyuki Tanaka, one of Godzilla's creators, so it's definitely official to some extent. Tanaka is very generous regarding Godzilla's combat record in the book, even calling his final battle with Biollante a victory.
The problem with that is Godzilla is unconscious at the beginning of the the next movie, having been defeated by Kong. That's why he's washed ashore by a hurricane... he wasn't able to get out of its way.
So, Tanaka can call it a draw all he wants, but the intentions of the makers at the time and the evidence in the actual film supersedes that.
Kong defeating Godzilla has nothing to do with "Well Godzilla can blah blah blah underwater." The tall and the short of it is Godzilla is the villain of the piece. Kong is the hero. Bad guys generally don't win in this sort of picture (because they aren't trying to be "edgy" or "cool" or whatever). Kong wins. Godzilla loses.
Keep in mind that Tanaka also said (and printed in that Heisei Godzilla Perfection book) "Bagan is canon to the Heisei series"...
Now that the King of the Monsters trailer is out...
I guess we can officially say...
#RodanConfirmed.

Happy to know that Godzilla's roar is pronounced "SKREEEEEEEEONGK"
I love subtitles so much
SKREEEEEEEONGK
Another note to add about Godzilla Jr. being Godzilla 2000 or 2004 is that while Junior was kind and gentle towards the humans, Godzilla 2K and Final Wars weren't and behaved like any other Godzilla. Especially since FW Godzilla was trying to pursue and kill the Gotengo crew.
Two words: Yasuaki Shindo.
If you saw the thing that turned you into a godzilla pop for fifty years, you’d want to kill it too
Godzilla jr isn't Godzilla 2000 this is correct but he did appear in 2 films where he went against a newly made mecha Godzilla.
@@polycentricvoluntarist8940 um no that is a new godzilla

I'm glad Shin is not just a bunch of organisms all together. If that was the case, then he'd basically be Destroyah in the form of Godzilla.
The future filmmaker Still has a shit ton of similarities.
The future filmmaker
Oh there's plenty to compare.
1- Different forms.
2- Super organisms
3- Can grow another from just a piece of themselves
4- All mutated
5- All can rule the world, because of what they can do.
The future filmmaker
2- A super organism. Meaning his cells. If you can't destroy every cell, then the super organism will just grow a new body.
The future filmmaker
3- Hedora, Shinemora can. Plus yes Destoroyah can totally grow from another micro organism. His literally made of it.
The future filmmaker
4- Mutation as in they all develop the ability to self replicate, and are not natural at all. I understand all Kaiju are mutated, but not in a cellular level. Like Shin and others like him.
I always thought of Godzilla having gills and lungs as being entirely logical. After all, he’s supposed to be amphibious in all of his iterations. This is also why I think the fight in _King Kong vs. Godzilla_ ended in a draw. As soon as both monsters fell into the sea, Godzilla would’ve gained a huge advantage as Kong is only an air breather.
Amen brother.
*Kong hiding on very tall building* Put that tree down man that was 50 years ago!
*godzilla 2014 at the base of the building holding a tree* BOY...GET DOWN HERE AND ACCEPT YOUR FATE!
At the altitudes required to have Godzilla at the base, Kong wouldn't have enough oxygen.
Why can't I stop imagine about that. XD

Adding on to "Is Junior the 1999 Godzilla?" -- in June 1999, Toho held a press conference for the film. One of the questions asked by a reporter with response:
Q: Was [Godzilla 2000: Millennium] ever planned as a sequel to 'DESTOROYAH'?
A: (producer Shogo Tomiyama) I never considered that idea at all for this project. The story of 'GODZILLA VS. DESTOROYAH' is set in a world entirely different from 'GODZILLA 2000: MILLENNIUM'.
The more you know!
Tomiyama is getting by on a technicality. "Godzilla 2000 Millennium" doesn't have Godzilla as Junior from "vs. Destroyer", but "Godzilla Millennium" (the project's first title), which had a different storyline did. Godzilla in "2000" isn't Junior, but that change was made very late in the game, despite what Tomiyama said in that press conference.
KeepingAngelaBaker And your source confirming that Junior was originally intended to be the Millennium Godzilla is... ?
SuperGodzillaGaming h
This wasn't common knowledge?
Adding that Godzilla vs Destoroyah served to bring an end to the Heisei saga, a sequel as such was never planned.
If the Mutos ever reminded me of anyone else, it was Battra or Megaguirus. Definitely not Mothra.
If you saw Godzilla and Mothra the battle for earth, battra is a moth, not a parasite that was formed from feeding off radiation from dagon another member of Godzilla's species, battra is colored red, yellow, and black, the male into is primarily gray and a little tint of black, battra was last seen in the heisei series, saying they look similar or legendary got inspiration from battra is false, something that most people would say is that they would compare the mutos to the baby cloverfield monster in 2008 which is also a misconception
same
The mutos wheren't even hostile until they where frettened.
The female Muto reminded me of Orga myself
@@B4nk624GL he said the kajiu that remains him of the mutos your so hot headed
Though it's not canonical, I like the idea of the millennium Godzilla being Jr. Not only do they share the same coloring, but the concept of him mutating and becoming so visually distinct due absorbing his father's heightened radiation is really cool. I wish they had taken that angle.
Technically they already did with godzilla vs gigan rex, the gemstone godzilla design is similar but still different compared to heisei godzilla thus giving it it's own distinct appearance.
I actually like that Godzilla has gills, if he didn't have gills, people would see him more often (in the Godzilla universe)
Yep can't hibernate underwater for Decades and centuries, or even a few years at a time if you can’t breath underwater, if Godzilla didn't have gills he'd act like a marine reptile or mammal and have to surface to breath, so lets just say he had internal gills as that just makes more sense.
If Godzilla didn't have gills, he would have drowned due to staying underwater for too long. Good thing Toho thought about this and explained the breathing holes on the Showa era suits as gills in-universe. Legendary also had the foresight of adding gills like a shark's on Godzilla's neck.
9:19 somthing that also supports this is the fact that before achieveing its final form Shin Godzilla couldn't regulate its body heat internally.
Like reptiles.
As a big Godzilla fan, I know that Godzilla 2000 and 2004/FW are different timelines entirely.
But I just really like to imagine Junior is 1999-2004 (Not counting GMK), because I really, really fucking hate how they literally reboot the series per Millennium movie.
Grandmaster Sparky Ikr the reboots used to make my brain hurt.
I think the movies would have been better if they continued the timeline either after each film or from the 90’s series. I alway thought it would be cool to have a cross over film with the 90’s Godzilla films and the American fox animated series. Like nick meets the psychic lady that was connected to junior team up to fight a alien invasion or some kind of big bad monster. I think it has potential of being a good movie
Same, I know it isn't canon, but I like to think Junior is the Millennium Goji, especially the Final Wars Godzilla following in his fathers footsteps, being bad@ss and such. If it was canon, it would be even cooler since FW Goji used the red spiral atomic breath like Heisei Godzilla.
actually jr is legendary

This is the kind of Godzilla content I love. thanks for making this vid!!!
How about the misconception that people think the name Godzilla was something shortsighted translators made up on the spot instead of the approved international name of Gojira.
I actually watched the *original* Godzilla movie on HBO Max, and there's a scene where an elderly citizen of some island village talked about how the people of his village were forced to treat Gojira like a *deity* , offering sacrifices of young maidens to him at regular intervals to appease it for even just the short time they managed to; after seeing that scene, I figured the overseas name Godzilla must've been inspired by *that* .

I always felt the winged MUTO had a stronger resemblance to Gyaos, the bat-like foe of Gamera, than to Rodan or Mothra.
yes and also megaguirus
In regards to the Junior 2000 theory, the original Japanese teaser for the film started with the full grown Junior at the end of GvD and proceeded to show clips from the Heisei timeline before revealing the new design. I think it made many (including myself as a kid) believe it was a follow up from the previous series.
Still, between this and the Final Wars theory, it just shows how much fans loved Junior and wanted to see him again.
Hopefully this will clear up some issues within the fandom. There is nothing worse than a mislead fact becoming "true". The Godzilla jr is Godzilla 1999 (Godzilla 2000) is especially annoying to see everywhere.
you see 99 is 55 meters and jr is 100 meters
Ikr. Godzilla 2000 is a complete reboot and starts the Millennium Series and was never a continuation of the Heisei Series. It baffles me how there are still people out there who believe Jr is Godzilla 2000.
Junior is NOT 100 meters tall. Godzilla is 100 meters tall in all of the Heisei series, except for Godzilla 1984 and Godzilla vs Biollante, in which he is around 80 meters tall.
Godzilla Junior is around 40 meters tall. Look it up at the wiki or just watch the movie. You can clearly see that he is tiny, or how else would Destoroyah grabbed him with such ease?
BenniRoR Technically, the Heisei Godzilla was 80m until the sub struck him in 92 (in canon, the films takes place one year after the film’s release), but still you are right.

This was interesting.
1:49 that one pisses me off a lot idiots still think jr is godzilla 1999,the heisei era has nothing to do with the millenium era both are seperate
Millenium era is a bit depressing, constantly rebooting and all...
But their visual effects are mostly superior to Heisei, as far as suspension of disbelief goes. Godzilla 2000 was a visual masterpiece, with scenes like where the GPN vehicle was in the foreground on a road as Godzilla’s silhouette loomed behind them, similar to the tornado chase sequences from Twister.

Nice!
i love how final wars Gozilla looks so mad but almost all Godzilas look mad
Kensho Yamashita has said that "Godzilla vs. Spacegodzilla" takes place in 1994, just a few months after "Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla." Also, computer monitors in "Godzilla vs. Mothra" set the main action as happening in December of 1992 (the prologue would likely be right after the events of "King Ghidorah"). Since the movie was released in December of '92, this would've been a conscious act by the filmmakers to place its setting. As well, if "Godzilla '84" takes place in 1984, then "Biollante" would take place in 1989, as the film itself has the super, "Five Years Later."
Here's the thing about Junior and "Final Wars"-- in the final film, no it's not Junior. But like with "2000", originally it was. The script that Tomiyama and Wataru Mimura wrote had it be Junior. But when Ryuhei Kitamura and his writer came in, they obliterated all references to it being Junior. Tomiyama first hinted at this in an interview with G-Fan magazine in late 2003 or 2004 (I forget offhand). This is why everything's back on the 100 meters scale. Additionally, the opening prologue was a concept that was originally in a draft for one of the 1995 story scripts-- since it didn't get used before, in Tomiyama/Mimura's draft, that was Aso and Hyodo piloting Atragon. But in the final film? No, it's not Junior.
They disproved it in pinned comment
@@ikaiju-eu9wn I don't know what "it" is you're referring to, but denying something doesn't make it not so. Don't just blindly follow Wikizilla. Everything in my post from THREE YEARS AGO is a fact, researched and corroborated by the people involved.

The reason the fans think Godzilla final wars was Godzilla jr is originally Toho script for Godzilla final wars was tied to the heisei era story. They even said that destoroyah was meant to be the final battle, which is why this godzilla is 100 meters instead of the 1954 being 50 meters. However they change it to not bring back the heisei timeline however the only thing remain is was this godzilla 100 meters height.

Here's a misconception:Bagan is the strongest kaiju ever and Shin is the strongest version of Godzilla ever xD
I think strongest kaiju title belongs to Super Godzilla
Well he propably has the strongest atomic breath, he's also the biggest, so why woldn't he be the strongest?
The Toho Society Bagan is quite op in fact. he was a mach for super Godzilla, which is the strongest Godzilla yet.
If not also the most realistic.
The main reasons Shin Godzilla isn't the strongest is because after a couple mins of him using his atomic breath resulted in him shutting down for two weeks. Not to mention he was seriously injured by a bunker buster.
Another one is that fans believe Godzilla was never been killed by people. Which is false.
Tell me when. And no, shitzilla doesn't count.
@FinalHunter But that's a fictional weapon. Missiles aren't.
@FinalHunter If it's a fictional weapon it doesn't count. We don't have an oxygen destroyer IRL, so that means Godzilla wouldn't have died.

I hope you feel better titanollte
Some of these theories I used to think were true, such as Godzilla winning in the Japanese version of King Kong vs Godzilla, and the whole Godzilla Jr. becoming the 2000 Godzilla. Thanks WikiZilla for clearing these up.
It's quite disappointing that the King Kong vs Godzilla japanese ending were nothing but tall tales. It was almost a match that Godzilla 2000 could be Junior, but he was the third in the Heisei era only. And I don't want to offend many people who are Godzilla fans, but connecting Junior as FinalGoji was a pile of bullshit. Why because Junior was born in 1993, while Godzilla (GFW) made his appearance and got sealed up around the 60’s; however, ironically, was released during the Xilien invasion in 2004.
Hey, can you do the Godzilla vs the Devil misconception thing.
The opening of "Final Wars" cannot take place in the 60s (fans just made that up around the time of release; that was never something Toho said). The main action of the movie takes place in the year 203X (several Toho sources and the Making of site this), so if Gordon was on the Atragon as a young man, it would be impossible for it to be set in the 1960s. The late 90's as originally intended is far more likely.
KeepingAngelaBaker But according to some sources that I have researched, the actual film opening of the film did taken place in the 60’s and the main action taken place in 2004. But if you want to keep the late 90's -203X timeline, that's fine with me. But for me, I'm sticking with 1960-2004 timeplot to be honest.
Who are your sources? Because mine's Toho. In their making of special for the film (which can be seen in their 3-disc DVD release), it explicitly says the main action of the film takes place in 203X, complete with an onscreen super reading same.
KeepingAngelaBaker My sources is Wikizilla, where it video shows from 3:23-4:32, which implying very good reasons of why Final Wars has share no connection with the Heisei Godzilla series:
1. The Heisei series and Final Wars shared no continuity and set in their own universe.
2. The stock footage is nothing but a montage to have Godzilla's triumph victory ending it.
3. Not only appeared in 1954, but he was sealed in Antarctica (during the great monster war) until been released in the 21st century during the Xilien invasion.
4. Junior was born in 1994, which implying that he's actually the third Godzilla in the Heisei timeline only.
And my other sources is from Toho Kingdom: www.tohokingdom.com/kaiju/godzilla_mill5.htm, where I ask them about the film itself and they did tell me that the film actually taken place in 1964-2004.
And by chances, if you say that the film taken place in 203X where are your links to support this unless you're some simpleton who make up bombastic claims.
And to add more, there was an originally planned script implying that Junior will be frozen in Antarctica in the late 90's until he was released in 203X, however, director Ryuhei Kitamura thought about it but rewrite it into his own which leave the timeplot unknown.
Thankfully a rematch is on its way in 2020

The future filmmaker I know. Those just didn't happen yet lol
I got to admit that the idea of shin being a super organism is kinda cool to me
How many Godzilla’s have existed at once and can there be two adult Godzilla’s?
Vol. 2 when?
We need more clarification
love your work you should do a kaiju profile for destroyah
*in the new Godzilla VS Kong*
Mechagodzilla: *rapidly rotates head creating a force field*
Godzilla:DONT YOU DO THAT AGAIN
I need the backing music please
still mad that kong won I swear to god 2020 make Godzilla win
MlgAaron I heard that they are gonna have them team up to fight a bigger monster as both monsters are not "villains."
Red1676 no, the director said there would be a definite winner
What I'm mad at isn't that Kong won. It's the fuss that Godzilla fans are making as a result of that. Seriously guys, chill! So what Godzilla lost, it's not the end of the world. What's strange is that I haven't seen many people complain about the ending of Mothra vs Godzilla, but when Kong wins, it's suddenly the worst thing ever. So two baby caterpillars are allowed to defeat Godzilla, but a giant ape isn't. I swear, this fanbase is so hypocritical. And no, I'm not badmouthing Mothra vs Godzilla. I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy of those types of fans.
@@nanuqo2006 mothra is a moth and kong is a giant powerlifting gorilla, in what universe does a moth or even a lizard beat a gorilla? Like lol honestly Godzilla fans are the most cancerous and stupidest people I have come across.
@@acGyakushu_and_Shin It's because Kong fans like to justify every valid argument that a godzilla fan makes about who's stronger by saying "Oh, well Kinky Dong won in du old moovee!"
This gave me a great idea..
Please do vol. 2! :-):-)
By the year 2020, we'll finally see a rematch between Godzilla & King Kong. In fact, i could picture how Godzilla VS King Kong might end. Just when either about the strike the final blow, Montra appears & warns them that a new, greater threat is on the horizon. This new threat is King Ghidora.
That's what happened when Godzilla and Rodan fought each other in "Ghidorah The Three Headed Monster".
Well, they can't do that because Mothra and Ghidora are both showing up in King of the Monsters. But if they made it another original kaiju, or go with Destroyah or a mysterious threat from space (aka Space Godzilla,) then it could work
@@DavidbarZeus1 Nope. The Director said there would be a definitive winner.
*I swear to god if kong wins...*
4:04 So the King of the Monster's name is SKREEEEONK? The series has lied to me.
the holes you can see in his neck in king kong vs godzilla. i always thought they were holes for the actor to see out and they just said they were gills to cleverly give a reason to it.
Something to also note about the junior and 2000 misconception is the height difference, with junior more than likely becoming 100 meters (the height of the hesisi incarnation) and the 2000 godzilla is only 55 meters.
To be honest, when I was younger and before I knew about Godzilla timelines, I always believed Godzilla jr actually became Godzilla from Godzilla 2000 lmao.
1:49 This theory and any variation of this theory always annoys me, and I'm someone who would actually like a continuation of the Heisei era.
We need this videos series back!
5:04: Godzilla is like “Listen here, im the reason why all of you exist if it wasn’t for me, then you wouldn’t have existed so everyone here pay respects to your king!”
But without kong Godzilla wouldn’t have existed
@@hussamgaming6733*the beast from 20000 fantoms have left the chat crying and killed everyone he hates* :
. I know the 2014 movie is controversial among fans, even though it's quite good and pretty accurate to a typical Godzilla movie, but can we at least agree that the M.U.T.Os are a fine edition to Godzilla's enemy list? Their designs are simple but cool, they're intimidating, and they actually posed a threat to the king.
I definitely agree. I'll take a new fresh enemy over Mothra again.
The issues I have with the 2014 Godzilla are in how they didn’t feature the king enough. The literally cut his first fight and it makes me angry. But I do agree that the MUTOs are a fine edition to the prehumanity Kaiju that rules the earth
@@poltergeist4288 thats because they wanted to make a save real godzilla movie without shit on the lore thats why godzilla has not much screentime. But in the end it doesn`t mather how much screentime he has its a very very good godzilla movie for shure and godzilla is godzilla.
They could have entirely been replaced with almost no major story changes with Megaguirus taking their place. I don't see how they were very original.
Watch the second trailer for Godzilla: King of the Monsters. There are hints that there will be more kaiju in the movie, and at least one will be possibly an original kaiju instead of an existing Toho kaiju.
plz do why Godzilla isn't a rip-off of the beast from 20000 fathoms
[ Madman ] It was a inspiration, also King Kong.
Antonio Valdivia I know
many people don't know and can't accept it
[ Madman ] That's odd
The future filmmaker IKR !!
Wait that Reymart troll kid is still around? There was a solid year where he commented on every video about how Godzilla 1998 was the only good Godzilla and the Japanese Godzilla was "lol Barney Fatzilla ripoff of Beast from 20000 Fathoms and all his movies are box office bombs." He got really annoying, and I eventually just blocked him.
I've never once heard any of this so it was a trip watching lol
My personal theory was that the Mutos were meant to bare a passing resemblance to the cloverfield monster in some way, but that feels a bit more like something Toho would do rather than Legendary.
