  • How to fix a surging Honda IGX700 or IGX800 on our All Wood Muscle Wood log splitter. Can we figure out what is causing this problem and how it can be fixed. We initially thought it was water in the fuel or a fuel delivery problem but we are now finding out that it is a spark delivery problem. Did I mess up and waste my money? Lets find out.

If the insulation is gone on those wires it's going to arc. Remember electricity takes the path of least resistance. So that errant voltage has no way to reach the plug. Who knew, well you do now and that wire coating should seal everything up and stop the coil wire from arcing. Good luck but it seems like you've found your problem. They'll take the parts back, they weren't even open. Just check it periodically to make sure there's no more meeses.

Yes Heath it is that Problem. Mice Got in my Honda Generator and Destroyed my Wires. I had to take it in to be Fixed. I didn't know but now I do, Liquid Electrical Coating. It will work. Let me Know as I heal from my Chainsaw incident. Ron from the Woodyard in Duanesburg NY.

hi there just change the plugs next if needed ,if you change everything at the same time you may fix the problem but won't know what it was , the plugs they use in the hondas act strange , they make the engine act like there is water in the tank , the plugs look good and will fire but stop firing , , the wires are made of soy bean oil , thats why mice chew on them john

Get some Bounce dryer sheets, and use them like a polishing rag inside there, and then crumple them up and jam them in a crevice. Mice don't like the smell. I use it in my engine compartments and other places.

Hopefully the liquid tape works you may have to cut and splice the wires if the tape won’t work.

Anything that is shipped from overseas has been sprayed with soy bean oil... to help with salt air and rust or corrosion.... Varmits with sharp teeth love the taste

When I store my Kubota tractor over the winter, I always place a tray of moth balls in the vicinity of the electrical components. I've read that mice do not like the smell of the moth balls. So far, I haven't had a problem. I hope that the Liquid Electrical Coating/Tape solves your problem. Honda engines normally run well and tend to be very dependable.

Oh my mr heath I sure hope you found it but sad about the parts as well …but rest assured it doesn’t make you an idiot trust me all the guys would have been in the same boat so not to worry and if they won’t take them back then wrap them up nice and neat and sell them with the machine as an added bonus feature
Just now you know just remove the cover and check the wiring Not to worry my friend it’s all good ….
Plus your willing to show it everyone else would cut that part out you know it and I know it
That’s why I enjoy Your videos their real and their true thank you
And say hello the the lovely mrs. Rachel ❤❤❤

Are there any flash codes on the FI error indicator light? I think there’s more wiring damage than what we just seen. Do some resistance checks on ignition coils and voltage checks on coil input wires.

Ive delt with cross fire issues a number of times.
    .
The oddest one was a 6v system that was converted to 12v battery and everything else was still 6v.
    .
it would start the engine with the distributor cap, a good foot from the distributor.
    .
So id say yes, its a good chance its the wiring.

I hope that solves your problem Heath. I had to chuckle because I’ve often thrown new parts at a problem trying to fix things myself, only to find out it was a simple issue that a professional mechanic would have found first. However, It sure feels good when you DO fix a problem yourself.

    • @hardworkingmanoutdoors
      @hardworkingmanoutdoors  7 дней назад +1

Yes it does. I’ve had it both ways. Thrown parts at it and failed and I’ve paid professionals and they failed too only for me to fix it later myself. Sometimes it seems like I can’t win lol.

Check your cover, or where the wires are closest to metal, and see if you have obvious arc marks. That'll give you an indicator of the wires shorting out. Just a reassurance that you are on the right path.

Hope you get that Honda purring again!
Prople often wonder why mice chew in the wire insulation. It's because one of the components used in the insulation is corn starch, and thats what attracts the rodents.
Looking forward to the next video!

Ha! I had a similar problem with a Kawasaki engine on a Hustler mower. I had brought my mower out of the winter moth balls and had half the power as usual. Wound up, mice had gotten in behind the flywheel and made a nest. I couldn't believe how much was in there. I cleaned it out and WA-LA!
