Looking good Phil, I have been so tempted with this since it came out as I'm a huge fan of the show, but I keep hoping that Keith puts out a version that is slightly smaller about 10". Just because of display space. He will probably get me when I have had a sherry or two at Christmas but for now I'm holding off in hope. Oh, there is supposed to be some new episodes in the pipeline, so yay to that. As always thanks for your time and sharing
I my self love red dwarf I have all of y here dad's I watch all of your videos you are a great modeler and painter to I would get the blue midget but I don't know how to led the model so am watching you do it I just would like to say think fir making of your videos my friends watch them to we enjoy watching your videos 😊keep up the great work on your blue midget you have a great and wonderful day take care my name is Oscar amfrom texas😊
Thanks for the kind words - this is such a fun build. I will definitely make sure I go through the lighting process. It’s quite straightforward! Cheers!
Really does look like a fun build with a lot of weathering and lighting options, if you want to take the 'Space Trucker' theme to the limit you could build the Nostromo next. But that would be a monster of a build.
I didn't "take" to Red Dwarf when it wove its way through American TV-- but I was a different person then. I must give it a try-- another Brit said I should like it, so I'll get there. The ship is strict British fantasy and very nice. A bit large for my tastes-- yes, I know this allows for every nut, bolt head and rivet to be placed but I have a non-Tardis living space-- y'know, smaller on the inside! But clearly, this is a heckuva kit. Really nice. My only curiosity over it lies in the frosty translucent interior pieces... so, uhh, you heavily light block, scratch out glowing switches and blast the thing with light. (And light block that.) Don't quite see how that works for the decal screens. I guess I mean that's a lot of light bleed from all about. Decals are see-through a bit and maybe that's enough. Seems something 3D printed could have all the through-holes needed in an otherwise solid material. I don't mean to cause trouble, just wonder what the path is. I am an excelsior kind'a guy. One thing I noticed is that the hallway you showed has enough of the openings I just lamented to allow for a lot of lighting and depth to the ship, etc. So, that should be nice. I have to praise you on your effort to streamline your work flow-- those trays are beautiful. I should show you my collection of organizational trays someday. Some fine day... when I need to look for something... I know it's right here... right... here...
Now this one looks like a fun build of a rather comical subject. You brought up workflow twice but didn't really flesh out your thoughts. I hope that you'll address that subject in more detail in the future.
Looking forward to this buildup a lot more than the Helios Enterprise D - that kit just was constant vicarious stress at how awful it looked to work with - and the disappointing end result was a real downer. Onward to better things!
Phil ... the Blue Midget seems like a fun build! Was wondering where did you get the t-shirt "I mostly build models mostly" The Alien themed shirt looks fun!
"Go to Red Alert, Kryton!" --- "Are you sure, sir? It means changing the bulb..."
'Show me the way to go home, im tired and i wanna go to bed' love blue midget!! Another brilliant video. I will have to pick this one up from cozmic

Awesome video, love the shirt. I used to watch this show all the time. Another awesome video, keep up the awesome videos.
Blue Midget, finally getting some love. Everyone knows Red Dwarf, Starbug, but poor BM always seemed to be the forgotten shuttle
Ive never heard of the show but I love oddball kits and would love to build this one
You are missing out on a great show.

Great video and an awesome shirt :D
Great start Phil, looks a very nice model, but still gives you plenty of options to flex your model building muscles.

It's the gearbox, man. I'm telling you!
Hey Phil hope you well and recovered from the rum party with Lou and Wayne loving the build can't beat red dwarf Smeg

Always good to do a couple small builds after doing a gigantic project
I got to be honest. I always preferred the original Blue Midget, to the remastered one. It showed the BBC could produce quality models on a budget.
This one's going to be cool.
I always like how you laugh at yourself
