hi mate. im your old subscribers. and im from Indonesian. im already 15 yo. back when i first watching ur video is like when im 12. but now im give up on my dream to become a profesional football player. there's so much reason why i give up. and i know that I'm a looser bcs im give up. but i can training and upgrade my self everyday bcs i had to take care of my grandparents. i want to say thanks for your motivation. your daily meal(i had to confess i love this one). and your daily blog and training.i wish u are on the top of the RUclips because ur video is very good for young player out there. oh ya. its kinda weird to watch ur vidio now and 4 years ago. u ar growing up so much. thankyou for give me verymuch lesson in football. and i hope ur notice my comment. and have a succesfull life matthew.
First touch and passing. If you can perfect those two you will already be a solid player. Try to work on the mental side as well, in order to have the confidence to consistently take a good first touch and pass accurately.
the biggest thing to work on honestly is speed of play, vision, and soccer iq. At this age you are playing at the highest level of youth soccer so you have to be tactically strong. You need to be able to read the game and play 1-2 touch. Technicals are very important but this is what takes you to the next level. Watch film, analyze professionals, and learn to play at higher speeds
You are a great inspiration for me. You are the main reason why I decided to start my own youtube channel. Thank you for the ideas of training drills to do to get better. I will definitely use them!
I don't think he should bcuz RUclips is prolly a very good source of income for him and he's already playing in Tulsa which has great weather year-round and is a great place to live
Was just binge watching the videos here are some of the ones i think you should try: 1: 7 drills i wish i did more as a kid 2: How to balance school and soccer 3: Some of his games 4: How to calm nerves before a game 5: What separates me from a premier league player 6: 13 things i wish i new when i was 13
Q&A Matt I was a rookie in the USL last season and now this is my first off season as a pro. My question is how do offseasons change over time as you build a resume and gain experience around the league. Right now is a very stressful time renegotiating and looking at options across the league. As you go on do more teams start knocking on your door instead of vice versa, or is it always more of a grind reaching out, agent working etc..
Q&A: The idea behind almost every motivational quote and the 10,000 hour rule is, if you work hard and everyday, you will achieve something big. This is obviously true. But I think the kids take this too serious and train like 3 hours everyday. It is good to have this attitude. But I wittnessed it by myself it is not good to train too much and don't take breaks. I'm injured now for like 6 months. Obviously it's all about knowing your body when to take breaks, but can you give me some tips to balance it with training. And how has your view of taking breaks changed through your career?
As someone who trains 2.5 hours a day on average, it’s really about balance and what you are doing. I never do all high intensity drills for my training sessions, I’m always mixing up higher and lower intensity stuff to avoid burnout.
Hey Matt! For the q&a how do you make friends and understand other players when you are playing abroad and there might be a language barrier? How was it for you in Germany during your trial and after you signed?
during this drill 11:57 I thought Colbrin's shots were good until I saw Matt himself do the shooting drill and the power difference in their shots was so big
Q&A: Matt, have you done any coaching courses/certificates? Any experience in coaching juniors? Do you think you'd want to move into a coaching role one day? Or continue with developing your mentorship and holistic-type of coaching and encouragement for individuals.
Q/A, should i have certain days for certain drill like monday crossing passing dribbling and so on and so forth and if so can u maybe show like how you would set something like that up
Q&A Do you have any advice for a player who has had multiple major injuries in the same year and is trying to get back to in shape and to their full capacity both physically and mentally but at the same time not over do it and get hurt again?
I know one player from my country Malaysia 🇲🇾.. He had experienced 4 times ACL injuries.. Twice on each of his legs.. But now he is one of the best players in my country..
Hey Matt I have been watching your videos from the beginning and I can tell u have been improving drastically. How many games and times did u feel like quitting soccer? And what made u keep on playing and not backing out and quitting? What can u do when u are so frustrated with ur team and u just want to yell at them? Thank u if u read this and hope u have a great weekend. #BecomeElite is the best... oh and also do not stop with ur game analysts this help me a ton because I play the same position as u. # Go Defense
this is for the q&a a lot of young soccer players that are around 15-19 want to pursue their dream of playing pro football. But things come into play such as needing a car, and starting to learn how to pay for your own stuff, etc.Would you recommend getting a part time job for a young footballer in order to help themselves in the long run?Would it effect their performance on the pitch?
I've been watching him for some time now. And I truly love his videos. They're getting better by the video. And some of his training is great. But as a player I don't really see something that's different.
Q&A: At what age/time in life should you start to give up other things in life (other sports, hobbies etc) and focus fully on football if you want to become a professional footballer
Other sports are good for keeping fitness up and hobbies are good for relieving stress and balancing hormones just ease of them slightly but don’t quit them
Q&A Why is it that when we are young and playing for local clubs, when we get hurt or injured the coach says run it off or play on. But in the professional environment players go down after the smallest of contact. Thanks🙏🙏🙏🙏
Q/A: Obviously a footballer is human like any other, and they go through their own hardships too. How would you recommend players go about dealing with serious things like depression?
Two questions: 1. Why do you wear St Louis FC gear way more often than Tulsa? Has Tulsa ever said anything about it? 2. Do you know any pros who played NCAA DIII?
Hey Sheldon can you please make a Video on why players especially those at the highest level do certain things like chew gum during a game I’ve seen this many times in the epl

Q and A. What is the most important aspect a player between 12 and 16 should be focusing on ?
whatever your weaknesses are
First touch and passing. If you can perfect those two you will already be a solid player. Try to work on the mental side as well, in order to have the confidence to consistently take a good first touch and pass accurately.
Im only 15 but imo its mental and being confident
As a player in my teens, I’ve found that focusing on technical ability is very helpful, as it sticks with you
the biggest thing to work on honestly is speed of play, vision, and soccer iq. At this age you are playing at the highest level of youth soccer so you have to be tactically strong.
