Music Behind the Magic - Poor Unfortunate Souls [Demo]

It is my great pleasure to share with you The Music Behind the Magic: The Musical Artistry of Alan Menken, Howard Ashman, and Tim Rice. As the name would suggest, this wonderful set features the music and songs of the immensely talented duo that sparked the Disney renaissance, as well as the later contributions of Tim Rice, who replaced our beloved Howard Ashman. Though Alan Menken may be the Disney legend we all know and love, it was Howard Ashman who was the beating heart of the early Disney classics. In this set we get to hear some of the concept tracks, work tapes, demos, and the final work of these two brilliant artists. The first of the set is Disney’s The Little Mermaid (1989), the second is Beauty and the Beast (1991), the third is Aladdin (1992)- this set features the talents of Tim Rice, and the last is the original concept for Aladdin from before Howard Ashman was pulled away to save Beauty and the Beast. I know you will enjoy the final tracks (how could you not?), but I hope you will also enjoy these demos and work tapes which provide a wonderful glimpse into the creative process of these Disney legends.
