Nice lesson. I understand the reluctance to name names. But, based upon the advice of Mr. Worthing and Mr. Naples, we should know which Tenkara rods work well for euro nymphing and which rods are too soft or too stiff. Apparently, if I understand their presentations, it is perhaps difficult to set the hook with softer rods, but stiffer (broomstick) rods lack sensitivity and strike detection. Please identify some rods that work, and some that do not. We are not looking for a definitive list of every rod - just some examples of each.

Stephen Carter just saw this - I’ve obviously not tried everything (far from it) but just personally when I’m going to be focused on the nymphing I’m likely to be using my Tanuki Ninja or Nissin ONI Honryu 395. But many rods will work.

      @@castingaround ,
I am just getting into tenkara and tight line nymphing, I have been suspension nymphing/ float fishing on a centrepin for steelheads till now, I have purchaded a wastach T-hunter tenkara , and will be trying putting in some river hours on it.
But I am also shortlisting some high end rods to upgrade once I get good and might go for brown trout in the spring/summer
