Plus: Warda up close and personal... and "Lebanese" with her Lebanese relatives from her mother's side. The Algerian legend (71 years) has died Thursday night in Cairo due to a heart attack. Warda Aldjazairia, or the Algerian Rose, was born in France in 1938 to an Algerian father and a Lebanese mother. She earned both her cinematic and singing breakthroughs in Egypt in the mid 60s, and gained fame throughout the Middle East.
