DBfan Eh, I’m just taking it from the part where Mitzuru was a split second away from being impaled in the chest when Weiss performed her time dilation, where she needed to use her “oh shit we’re dead” move. But hey, I don’t know enough about Persona to make any full blown judgments on ability. Needless to say, they set Weiss up for failure with this one, on top of her negative track record on 1v1s. 😅
@@dbfan199she wasn't supposed to literally just be tanking these explosions though. That moment when Arnold secretly and unexpectedly drops the knowledge that he's going to play P3!!! I can't wait! Arnold you would/will love both P3 and P4 despite their age!
Persona 3, 4, and 5 are all set in the same universe. I'm not too familiar with 1 or 2. But they all deal with The Collective Unconscious one way or another. They are set at different times and in different towns, but they are definitely in the same universe. There were some spoilers for 3 in this, but nothing too major that will ruin your experience with 3, so you should be good. I wouldn't say that 3 is the best Persona game mechanically or visually, but I do think that it has the best story and narrative from the games that I have played. Definitely expect something a little more intense than 4 and 5 going in.
1 and 2 take place in the same general universe as 3 4 and 5. But also not really. Basically.... the end of 2 resets the universe and thus persona 3 was born.
20:11 Not exactly. The Metaverse of P5 was born from the collective unconscious, or Sea of Souls. P3 has Tartarus and the Dark Hour, while P4 has the TV World, which are also offshoots of the collective unconscious. And each game deals with different themes. P3 deals with death, P4 deals with truth, and P5 deals with rebellion (which you already knew).
From what I understand... P3 deals with death, and the acceptance of it as inevitable. P4 deals with truth, even the unpleasant ones you don't want. P5 deals with rebellion, and finding a place in life after you leave comfort.
Great taste! My favorite persona game, my favorite P3 waifu Mitsuru vs my favorite RWBY waifu Weiss. What even was this Death Battle? A clash of waifus? lol
The metaverse is one of the forms the collective subconscious can take. The form it takes is based on location and era always changing with the general populus that changes it.
Hello Arnold! For context - The collective unconscious is the representation of humanity in the Persona series. The CU manifests differently depending on the location and what it represents in the unconscious mind: Tatsumi Port Island becomes Tartarus, the Tower of Death; YasoInaba has the TV World to uncover hidden truths, and Mementos is the representation of distorted desires. They’re all apart of the same thing, but with different reasons and rules for existing.
Here's some matchups that I've thought of: - Blake Belladonna vs Squall Leonhart (Final Fantasy 8) - Jaune Arc vs Brigitte Lindholm (Overwatch) - Nora Valkyrie vs Amy Rose (Sonic The Hedgehog) - Penny Polendina vs Aigis (Persona 3) - Qrow Branwen vs Hsien-Ko (Darkstalkers)
I would love to see penny vs Aigis, but the question is if they give Aigis the power of the wild card, because it’s really unclear if she still has it or not.
I CALLED IT AND JIXED IT!!!!! I can’t believe you actually reacted to this, not a problem or anything but I just said something about it in the video on the comment
If you're going to play another Persona game, here's an order I think you should do: Persona 3 FES (The Journey, The Answer), Persona 4 Golden, Persona 4 Arena, and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. Also, absolutely LOVED this reaction!
If I remember right, I think Death battle/screwattack cast are apart of Rooster Teeth. They work together. Which is why the animation and voice acting in the actual battle was pretty much spot on.
Actually I believe p3-5 all exist in the same world since p3-4 easily connect through arena and ultimax but Akechi is called the 2nd detective prince so p4 must exist in the same world as p3-5 or one or the other.
"Snow chance!" get it? geez why, why do I love puns so much. thanks to Boomstick / Chad for that great delivery. and Glad to see you back up and running at full steam boyo.
MurderofBirds, tragic loss of Wiess but I can't wait to see you react to the Death Battle of Yang vs Tifa. I'm not sure if you have reacted to this video but I'm glad to see ur videos
@ 7:20 - 7:40, I think another way to do the comparison between Wiess and RWBY vs Mitsuru and the Persona series; is like comparing Sailor Moon (older sisters favorite when we were little,) to Attack on Titan. One is more light hearted and generally more stable environment: enemies, boss fights, and challenges faced. While Attack on Titan is a seriously more gritty, brutal, and far more challenging environment that makes you into a seasoned veteran of war; or it breaks you to the point of death. By your own hand, someone else's, or the many titans in the series. I've never played Persona, but several of my friends have and are into the whole lore and background of Persona. I on the other hand watched Rwby till Volume 5, till one of my friends decided to convince me to see V. 6. I gave it up because of the bad writing, and many plot holes; extreme lack of world building, and character development. You could say I have some bias, both for and against RWBY. I also have some bias, again, both for and against Persona. This I think, allows me to have a balanced opinion on the outcome of the fight. I don't dislike RWBY, I just dislike the severe flaws with the show. Compared to a fleshed out world with extremely fleshed out characters, Flaws and all; Persona seems like the better series. Especially since Rooster Teeth hasn't done anything to fix the problems with RWBY, and just keeps going with the poor storytelling and world building. I probably won't get back into Rwby, especially after the horrible writing of volume 6.
All the Persona Games are canon! They all take place in the same universe. You can notice it if you watch the TV enough times in Persona 5, getting to see references to Persona 4. And since Persona 4 and 3 characters meet in Arena Ultimax, they all appear in the same universe. The Collective Unconscious is the large scale term for the world. There are different aspects to it. Tartarus is the human aspect of death. The TV World is the human aspect for the truth and lies. Mementos and the Metaverse is the aspect of freedom.
Just found you and you're freaking awesome! And, yes, P3 is f***ing AMAZING!!!! It was the first one that I played in the series and fell in love immediately! Also..... Mitsuru-senpai is ultimate Waifu! Love your vid and keep it up!
I'd love to see a rematch between the two of them after RWBY ends and we have Weiss' full potential and if she stays the same (highly doubt it) then that would just make us sad.
I would recommend giving some other Death Battle videos a go if you're interested. Think you have the right attitude and analytical view to enjoy it. I think they started doing animation for Wiz and Boomstick with episode 100.
I would recommend that you consider reacting to some of the other DeathBattles. There are some really great ones out there like Iron Man vs Lex Luthor, Sephiroth vs Vergil, Megazord vs Voltron, Dante vs Bayonetta, Black Panther vs Batman, Wolverine vs Raiden, Deadpool vs Deathstroke, Thanos vs Darkseid, Optimus Prime vs the original Gundam, Pokemon vs Digimon, etc. You might also enjoy it to see how DeathBattle has changed over the years and how things were earlier on in the series compared to the more recent DeathBattles. I won't have any issues if you don't, I just think you might enjoy them. ;)
Although my heart hurts from this “Weiss-cold” defeat, I can rest my mind knowing that it shows Rooster Teeth isn’t afraid to have their own characters killed, avoiding bias. (Something with Yang Vs. Tifa.) One more thing to take from the end of the battle: Weiss didn’t really “die” but it just looked like she was defeated, because compared to all other DBs the loser is brutally murdered/stabbed/decapitated/fatalitied, while all that really happened to Weiss was her rapier breaking, which I can imagine leaving alternative endings that the community can make to cushion the blow of Weiss’ loss. My idea is Weiss just painfully getting back up and feeling down from losing and hearing a faint cheering, coming from a portal showing the RWBY community telling Weiss she fought well and did her best.
Think for this scenario Mirderofbirds, how can a White Mage overcome a Secret Agent in a One v One match? (No Bias Option for this battle playing out...!) This Death Battle determines on who has the better battle experience, a very versatile arsenal, and much proper training to win, Much ike Frieza, “how can an Ant compete against a Dinosaur”? I still blame Weiss’s unfair upbringing for her lack of individual combat progression but I digress....! So yeah, I’m not entirely surprised if Mitsuru Won this battle...! You did the best you can Weiss, but you’ll still be our little Ice Queen...! ☺️
So, what do you think about the upcoming *Johnny Cage vs Captain Falcon?* (With the implications they have of Captain Falcon possibly using G-Diffuser tech in his gauntlets and boots, this could be a classic magic/technology rivalry)
I'm not assuming anything here but if Death Battle reactions are going to be a regular thing now on this channel, then here are a few Death Battles that I recommend for you Ryu VS Jin Ragna VS Sol Badguy Dante VS Bayonetta Balrog VS TJ Combo Wolverine VS Raiden Thanos VS Darkseid Optimus Prime VS Gundam Kirby VS Majin Buu Roshi VS Jiraiya Crash VS Spyro Jotaro VS Kenshiro And considering that one episode of a later season of Red VS Blue is an actual Death Battle Meta VS Carolina *(although I would wait as it contains major spoilers for seasons you haven't watched yet)*
Don't know if you're aware or not, but Mark Zhang, the guy who did the fanmade SLVR trailers released the last one recently in case you wanted to watch it.
P3 is really good, I'm still currently playing it and man it's interesting and the characters drew me in real quick. It's a dark fun and wild ride. I love it a lot its worth playing.
yo Murder! just wanted to share that the crossover Persona games are also great and they also have Mitsuru. Persona 4 Arena and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax are arcade style fighting games that have characters from Persona 3 and 4. And it shows that the persona games are probably in the same universe, just different times as in P3 Mitsuru is still in school while in Arena and that crosstag game you talked about, she's an adult. Then there is Persona Q, a crossover game between 3 and 4 with time travel elements. Persona Q 2 is similar but has Persona 5 as well and, if my understanding is correct, you can only play as P5 protag while in the other game you could go with one or the other changing up some of the first few cutscenes and set up. All of these are games I reccommend you play after persona 4. while i have yet to do any regular persona game, i do own and play both Persona 4 arena games and I really love them as tehy have very interesting story modes!
I’m going to assume your aware of the After The Fall novel’s release this week. It was released on Amazon today, & looks like it sold out & will be back in stock on Friday. I assume you probably preordered a copy. But I’m curious if you plan to do any discussion video on it upon completion, or at least a brief review.
There is another advantage Mitsuru had over Weiss. Well severel acually. For once a Persona is simpley much more reliable than Weisses Summon ESPECEY the Armer Gigas who is realey strong but at the same time WAY to slow to keep up with Artemisia. On top of that Mitsur has YEARS of Experience fighting alongside her Persona while in the Continuity of the Show Weiss archived her summoning ONLEY a frew Months prior to this battle and had WAY less experience. Another thing is that Mitsuru faught against beeings WAY mor Powerfull ANITHING the World of RWBY has to offer. The Final Boss of P3, Erebus, the Final Bosses of Persona Q1 and Q2 and even more.
I got two things to say for this, man: 1. The combat animation is dope! RWBY should be like this in its future volumes! Wonder if the person in charge is also directing the animation for V7 and probably onwards though. 2. So, Weiss lost to Mitsuru, huh? Don't worry! Shinku's Ruby and Yang won against Mitsuru and Akihiko in EVO 2019! I feel that it was a payback match for this Death Battle. XD
Even if you don't watch Death Battle, I highly recommend checking out the fight sequences that Torrian Crawford choreographed. He was one of the animators for gen:LOCK, a highlight being that Cammie vs. Kazu sparring match, as well as having a hand in the fight you just saw here.
Fun fact: Persona 3, 4 and 5 are part of the same universe. There are a lot of callbacks, shoutouts and cameos in p4 that connect it with 3, like Margaret mentioning Elizabeth (the Velvet room attendant of p3), and p5 has a lot of shoutouts to p4 through things like the Rise Kujikawa poster in your room, an interview mentioning Naoto Shirogane and a series of photo's and posters in the background featuring several p3 and p4 characters. The Devil's in the details, but the details don't lie. Also. The Persona Q games are... for some reason... Canon...
There needs to be a rule in DB that forbids fighters from appearing if they have yet to reach their full potential. Weiss is still technically a huntress-in-training, so this isn't exactly fair.
marin karin is basically a charm spell so the evoker is a gun. you point the thing at your head, pull the trigger, and summon a persona. in p4 its as simple as crushing a card. and as a heads up kinda, personas in p3 don't evolved through social links (not confidants as social links don't give you bonus stuff) they evolve through story, which i much rather have
Persona 3-5 are connected, since Atlus doesn't Acknowledge 1 and 2, I'm not sure if they're connected, but 3-5 are. Atlus is proud of 3-5 so during games, they will Reference characters or places in future titles.
If you ever do another Death Battle, I will say that personally I think it's fine that you paused to read the writing. Since I assume that most of us have already seen the battle, it's fine that you're taking your time to absorb everything here. Pointing out each moment in the fight in which there was a direct reference to a specific volume of RWBY was nice too.

They already highballed her by insisting she tanked an explosion that wasn't really supposed to be hitting her, and scaling her speed to high end outliers of totally different characters.
That aside, it wasn't too bad. They could have done worse.
@@EnuocaleBecause I'm pretty sure your the guy I've disagreed with on SMT before. I'm just gonna say I disagree and move on. Because neither of use are gonna change our opinions.
I think persona 3 has my favorite soundtrack out of all the other games in the series(Persona 5 is a close second though)
That moment when Arnold secretly and unexpectedly drops the knowledge that he's going to play P3!!! I can't wait! Arnold you would/will love both P3 and P4 despite their age!
Glad to see you were interested in the P3 side of things because if you enjoyed P5's story, P3 is on a whole other level lol
Yeah, in terms of storytelling, Jesus christ... The game is so good but goddamn it's dark. And I love it for that.
YOUR BACK IVE BEEN MISSING YOUR REACTIONS
*You're back...
Next battle is actually gonna be Captain Falcon vs Johnny Cage lol
If you remember the SLVR trailers by Mark, trailer "R" has been released about a month ago. Thought i give you the heads up
P3 was my favorite persona game of the series
Here's some matchups that I've thought of:
- Blake Belladonna vs Squall Leonhart (Final Fantasy 8)
- Jaune Arc vs Brigitte Lindholm (Overwatch)
- Nora Valkyrie vs Amy Rose (Sonic The Hedgehog)
- Penny Polendina vs Aigis (Persona 3)
- Qrow Branwen vs Hsien-Ko (Darkstalkers)
I would love to see penny vs Aigis, but the question is if they give Aigis the power of the wild card, because it’s really unclear if she still has it or not.
Aigis has an arsenal of guns though. Penny ain't winning against her. Plus the fact she's a wild card user aswell
I CALLED IT AND JIXED IT!!!!! I can’t believe you actually reacted to this, not a problem or anything but I just said something about it in the video on the comment
Woooo reactions xD and the Mark Zhang trailer !!! cant wait for your reaction on that xD
while i love weiss she wasnt going to win against a persona character, almost instant re summon is hard to beat
Do you plan on reacting to the new Blake vs Mikasa? That’s also a really good fight!
This was amazing, it’s so good to have you back.
The Ice Queen vs the imperial queen of execution 😁👍
All of the Persona Games are in the same world and same canon, happening at different points in their timeline.
"Snow chance!" get it? geez why, why do I love puns so much. thanks to Boomstick / Chad for that great delivery. and Glad to see you back up and running at full steam boyo.
dang i thought this was the mark trailer xP. Nice video either way!
I can't wait for him to freak out over that.
I really love the fact that you are watching this !!☺ Keep it up
*I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS*
I'd love to see a rematch between the two of them after RWBY ends and we have Weiss' full potential and if she stays the same (highly doubt it) then that would just make us sad.
Weiss definitely improved insanely after vol4
I would recommend giving some other Death Battle videos a go if you're interested. Think you have the right attitude and analytical view to enjoy it.
I think they started doing animation for Wiz and Boomstick with episode 100.
Mitsuru was too much for Weiss
I would absolutely LOVE to see you play through Persona 3 sometime if you would ever be interested in playing it.
Comparing RWBY and Persona is like comparing Naruto and Dragonball. Fun, but you know who's gonna win from the start.
Persona characters KILL GODS. Weiss had no hope here at all.
Good comparison honestly
More like Bnha to Dbz power wise.
“I’m sorry Weiss, you gotta hold that L dude” I don’t know why that got me😂
Great to see your videos again
I won't have any issues if you don't, I just think you might enjoy them. ;)
Don't watch the Death Battle and Red Versus Blue crossover video until you see it in it's place in the Red Versus Blue series.
Although my heart hurts from this “Weiss-cold” defeat, I can rest my mind knowing that it shows Rooster Teeth isn’t afraid to have their own characters killed, avoiding bias. (Something with Yang Vs. Tifa.)
One more thing to take from the end of the battle: Weiss didn’t really “die” but it just looked like she was defeated, because compared to all other DBs the loser is brutally murdered/stabbed/decapitated/fatalitied, while all that really happened to Weiss was her rapier breaking, which I can imagine leaving alternative endings that the community can make to cushion the blow of Weiss’ loss. My idea is Weiss just painfully getting back up and feeling down from losing and hearing a faint cheering, coming from a portal showing the RWBY community telling Weiss she fought well and did her best.
the way you gawked when you found out how characters in persona 3 summoned their personas was fucking gold
Think for this scenario Mirderofbirds, how can a White Mage overcome a Secret Agent in a One v One match?
(No Bias Option for this battle playing out...!)
This Death Battle determines on who has the better battle experience, a very versatile arsenal, and much proper training to win, Much ike Frieza, “how can an Ant compete against a Dinosaur”?
I still blame Weiss’s unfair upbringing for her lack of individual combat progression but I digress....! So yeah, I’m not entirely surprised if Mitsuru Won this battle...! You did the best you can Weiss, but you’ll still be our little Ice Queen...! ☺️
Uh pretty late so don't know if you know but P3,P4, and P5 take place in the same universe
So, what do you think about the upcoming *Johnny Cage vs Captain Falcon?*
(With the implications they have of Captain Falcon possibly using G-Diffuser tech in his gauntlets and boots, this could be a classic magic/technology rivalry)
Oh yeah. Wiz and Boomstick just recently started animating themselves.
It's always a treat seeing people react to evokers
I'm not assuming anything here but if Death Battle reactions are going to be a regular thing now on this channel, then here are a few Death Battles that I recommend for you
Ryu VS Jin
Ragna VS Sol Badguy
Dante VS Bayonetta
Balrog VS TJ Combo
Wolverine VS Raiden
Thanos VS Darkseid
Optimus Prime VS Gundam
Kirby VS Majin Buu
Roshi VS Jiraiya
Crash VS Spyro
Jotaro VS Kenshiro
And considering that one episode of a later season of Red VS Blue is an actual Death Battle
Meta VS Carolina *(although I would wait as it contains major spoilers for seasons you haven't watched yet)*
Awesome reaction to this cool fight! :) Yeah Mitsuru was clearly more powerful and had the advantages over Weiss.
Don't know if you're aware or not, but Mark Zhang, the guy who did the fanmade SLVR trailers released the last one recently in case you wanted to watch it.
"Numbers don't lie."
Church. -_-
Here are some Death Battles I recommend:
Joker VS Sweet Tooth
Deadpool VS Pinkie Pie
Batman VS Spider-Man
MurderofBirds, when you were going on about aura in Weiss’ analysis, the word you were looking for was ‘retconned,’ not metamorphosis.
P3 is really good, I'm still currently playing it and man it's interesting and the characters drew me in real quick. It's a dark fun and wild ride. I love it a lot its worth playing.
Thank you for putting rising in the video death battle crew
yo Murder! just wanted to share that the crossover Persona games are also great and they also have Mitsuru.
Let's see how this goes.
24:24 Well, yeah. BB Tag uses characters from the Persona 4 Arena series, which includes characters from Persona 4 and Persona 3.
I just asked about this video on your Twitter earlier today. I'm so impatient lol
I got two things to say for this, man:
And Mitsuru hasn’t reached her full potential either.
Persona’s have 3 forms. Mitsuru only has her second form.
Oh that would also ban a majority of charactets.
I'd certainly hope Death Battle does their research on a character their parent company owns lol. Great reaction as always!
All the persona games take place in the same universe, they are only separated by time.
marin karin is basically a charm spell
so the evoker is a gun. you point the thing at your head, pull the trigger, and summon a persona. in p4 its as simple as crushing a card. and as a heads up kinda, personas in p3 don't evolved through social links (not confidants as social links don't give you bonus stuff) they evolve through story, which i much rather have
"And their princess is Weiss Schnee."
Arnold: "Best girl."
(Uh . . . well, somewhere Pyrrha is crying again.)
there can be multiple best girls
Persona 3-5 are connected, since Atlus doesn't Acknowledge 1 and 2, I'm not sure if they're connected, but 3-5 are. Atlus is proud of 3-5 so during games, they will Reference characters or places in future titles.
If you ever do another Death Battle, I will say that personally I think it's fine that you paused to read the writing. Since I assume that most of us have already seen the battle, it's fine that you're taking your time to absorb everything here. Pointing out each moment in the fight in which there was a direct reference to a specific volume of RWBY was nice too.
21:37 SMT: nocturne (another game from atlus and the third game of the shin megami tensei series which persona is inspired from) looks actually better
You seriously need to check out some of the other death battles. Whether it be off camera or not
Nice to see you again bro.
