Love this tree stand this season. Was somewhat hard to understand the directions. Took us a while to put together. As far as being in a tree, 10/10 experience. Seat mesh is very comfortable to sit in for long hours. Adjustable foot rest is probably my favorite feature of this stand. The fact I can kick my feet up and relax is so nice instead of having them sitting back onto the platform. Probably the most comfortable experience I have had in a tree
I was looking at this tree stand in my local hunting store the other day and I'm thrilled that I found your review video of it. I'll definitely be picking this up later this week.
Thank you for the great video from beginning to end! I just ordered this stand from Amazon, my first. I've always hunted from the ground with great success for about 45 years but a new area that I'm going to go is ideally situated for a tree stand so I chose this one. I understand many stands have disappointing and poor instructions so between what they send me and your fantastic video I think I'll be golden. Thanks again!
I have this stand and well I haven't been able to bring myself to climb it.. going to take a section of ladder out and try again. I'm not a big fan of heights but love how wide and comfortable it looks
Just bought one last week, last one they had in store. I had a Rivers Edge that was identical to this one but sadly it was stolen but it was super comfortable with the same type seat and could sit in it literally all day with minimal adjustments. The other thing I liked about this was the larger foot platform which allowed me to just put my pack right behind my feet or off to one side and still have room to move without bumping the pack. On my old Rivers Edge I had a camouflage curtain that went around the front and both sides and I also put a mat down on the foot platform to cut down on the wind coming up through. Lastly I have a few of those umbrella's that go around the tree to stay dry...all that made it very enjoyable to hunt out of all day even in bad weather and going to do all that to my new Big Game.
Nice stand. Our BPS will have them for $119 next week. Gonna be there when they open and get 2 for our property. I don’t do climbing stands any more so we’re putting ladders up to hunt areas we haven’t hunted in a few decades.
All stands like this, cut part of the bottom ladder off to allow about 4 inches to penetrate into the ground resulting in the bottom step resting on the ground. Eliminates that problem of the stand sinking over time. Also, the support bar going to the tree should be about two feet higher up to give more stability to the ladder. Can be changed with a couple of holes drilled in the ladder rails. Just a minor design flaw. Lastly but a note on what I consider a major flaw in any ladder stand, steps that are not industry standard 12 inches apart, these are almost 16 inches.
Thanks for the great video. This is my first stand and going to put it up today. This made me feel more comfy about it. A wish is that they have a better parts list with pictures for the ladder components so you can quickly check the contents. A tip. There really is no padding. I tossed the camo and put 1” pipe insulation on the arm rests and shooting rest.
Just picked this model up and got it put together and installed yesterday. Nice stand, but it’s heavy for a one person install. Also my instructions indicated that the stability bar be installed in the middle ladder section as opposed to the bottom section where yours was installed. Not sure if it’s a big deal, but sure is a nice stand and your video helped with the install. Thanks!
Love this tree stand, our guys are big hunters, they have a deer stand but not as deluxe as this one, they may need a new one lol. Great share Tim. Beautiful property. Happy deer hunting my friend. Blessings
Just purchased 2 if these. I would recomend ALWAYS using a life line. Having broken my foot and a coworker breaking his back from tree stand falls, never leave the ground without being tied on!
I lay mine (stand ) opposite yours on the ground with the tree stand coming straight up off the ground. The way I do it, with a extension ladder, I put a 3/8 eye bolt in the tree just above the height of where the shooting rail will be. I take a 40’ pc of rope, 20’ one way and thread it thru the eye bolt or use a block and tackle, any way tie the one end on the stand and pull it straight up the tree with the ladder part of the stand following. Works great, or if you can get to it with a 4 wheeler winch, screw another I bolt in the bottom of the tree in line with the 4 wheeler winch. I use a another block at the bottom and winch it right up. Easy peasy. When you get older you find easer ways. Thats also how I load fat deer up too. I hope this helps :)
@ 11:50 - 12:00 if you don't have a ladder to help setup the stand, I can suggest a 16`- 20` set of climbing sticks works great. Also, a lineman's belt or use the included safety harness. Edit: tip to help keep things quiet - use electrical tape around the d-link clip & tube to help prevent the dreaded 'ting'.
@@NYCamper62 to eliminate the dreaded "ting" I replace those clips with bolts and nylock nuts. That eliminates play as well. Just don't tighten them too much or they'll mushroom the sections.
Thanks Peter. Mine is very quiet. The plastic washers seem to help for sure. The only noise I get in high winds is the from the safety straps vibrating. Good stand for sure!
if you take a plastic milk jug and cut yourself about 40 little nickel sized disks out, then punch those with a hole puncher your kids would use, you have 40 plastic washers... put those on every bolt that Muddy didn't give you washers for. Personally, just be glad they gave ya all the hardware. mine was missing 6 bolts, and nuts, and the shooting rail was like 4 inches too wide where it attaches. Had to bend the snot out of it to make it fit. That being said, im picking up a 2nd one on monday. Very nice stand.
This was a really good video a dealer has this stand 40% off in the town I live in I wanted to watch a video and see if I'd like the stand thank you looks like I'll be getting 3 of them tomorrow for next season
Just got this stand for an upcoming bear hunt. I usually hunt ftom the ground so we shall see my comfort with heights. And for under 150$ after rebate from the local menards...cant go wrong! Seems much sturdier and more roomy than any other ladder stand i have hunted from.
I've used one for the last three years. I left off one section and up about 12 feet, which is high enough for me. Took a 7 pointer from it last year. Very comfortable and does not move or creak. My only concern is the seat is showing some wear. (the stand is left up all year). I can see this seat coming apart in another 2 or 3 years. I have looked, but where can you get a replacement seat. The website for the stand does not make seat availability clear. Any idea about another type of replacement? The stand is so well made it will last for years.
I have replaced several seats on these things. Bought a heavy duty canvas tarp from home depot, and got a brass gromet kit and some para cord. Takes about 20 minutes and is very sturdy. Im 220 pounds.
You need a second ladder to install this stand. Where I'm going there is no way for me to bring an extra ladder 3 miles into the woods? Thanks Mate 😊👍👍
Hubby and I just put ours together today..anyone know how/ good that inside bark biter is working, to us, we question how it touches the tree, looks kinda short?
would it not be better to attached the straps to a low rung of the ladder rather than the lower support bar? looks like the strap could pull that bar up and off the tree. Attached to the lader it pulls the ladder toward the tree.
Dunham sports has a coupon for $159 right now, they could have done a little better job making the instruction book but after assembly it seems to be a well built stand
There actually a 11mm wrench. The only thing o dont like is theres no actually padding in the shooting rail and arm rest and the U snap pins for the ladder connection. I replaced them with nuts and bolds. Plus none of the nuts and bolts had waskers to them. After i added those few things its super sturdy and safe.
@@RidgeLife i even added one under the front of the seat so the round bar quit digging into the back of my legs. Great video by the way. Its nice to see reviews on items that ppl actually use.
Great video and review....just purchased the Big Game Rifleman 1.5 Ladder Stand 18-ft .....looks pretty much the same.....can't wait to get it up and stat hunting out of it. What's your thoughts on a wrap for the setting area to cut down on wind ? Cheer's
@@RidgeLife thanks again for the review....I've looked into magnetic wraps that inclose the seating area but am unable to find one here in Southwestern Ontario.....so was just going to try and rig one up as best as I can.....keep the videos coming. TC , Cheer's
Mine came with 27 missing parts and they wouldn’t send me a replacement after hours of waiting on the hold line. Terrible business. This just happened last week and I am still absolutely livid.
I am brand new to this. I just purchased this exact stand because of your review. But I’ve never used any type of tree/laser stand before. And I’ll likely be setting this up alone. I have a question about the ratchet straps that you were using at top of stand. Do these come with the stand or just something that you added to make it more secure? Also I’ll be on public land. Any anti-theft tips? Thanks I’m advance.
I watched video again and see that they do come with it but anyway you can explain how to install the ratchet straps a lil better. In the video the camera is quite a distance away when you were installing them.
The unit comes with ratchet. You can add more at different locations but I didn’t. You will like this stand as will others and want to steal it. You can add a cable lock at the top but they can cut about anything with the right tools. Good luck!
It’s best to have a separate ladder like I did but there is a way to do it without it. But you just connect one end and swing around to other side and ratchet until tight. Tighten again then next time you come out as stuff loosens over time.
I don’t think the seat assembly instructions could be more confusing… what a royal pain. I’d pay money to have a seat assembly step by step video than deal with this.
Do you recall how you got the tension bar in the seat and managed to get the bolt through? I cant get the seat material to stretch enough to bolt that tension bar. I'm so frustrated
HMM. Not for public land I guess, if one needs another ladder to install it. I guess he addressed it at ther end. But still need to limb the tree first, like he did to that one and the others around it. Again, harder to do efficiently on public lands.
Its kinda false advertisment on the box. Its not 181/2 feet at the rail but to the top of the seat back. It only says 18 1/2 on the box. Its ok for a gun stand but isn't high enough for a bow stand wear I hunt. If your not 20 plus or have the absolute perfect setup you'll rarely get drawn on any mature deer without getting busted.
Good review except you left out the toughest part of the assembly, the seat, having troubles with the seat bar and the back of the seat going on the bars that face upwards. Have everything else put together though.
Jordan I did as well What I did was used one of the straps to squeeze the bars tight then slipped it right on, hopefully this helps the next person. Happy Hunting
I went off all the comments on here and when I 1st got it up and sat down ill admit this is the most comfortable tree stand I bought 2 of these BUT it took 3 weeks because it was missing over 3/4 of the bolts on both tree stands so I called customer service and they refused to send me the bolts I needed so I had to go to home depot and drop 70 dollars on nuts and bolts I called again and they refused to compensate me for my money or my troubles and they told me they send out 1000s of these stands with the same calls coming in. so I got the stands up and a week later both are rusting I would not recommend this product. the metal feels so cheaply made its not funny and where I bought the stands from do no accept returns.
great tree stand but they could of done alot better job with the instructions. they dump all the nuts and bolts into one bag so none of the bolts are labeled or anything so i had to do my best thanks to this video. if it wasnt for this i wouldnt have been able to do it.
I wish I was getting a commission! Ha! I really like the stand though. I’ve hunted out of it several times this season and is my most comfortable stand for sure.
The stabilizing straps are Chinese cheap shit. And good luck getting new ones from big game. I’ve been trying for 3 years now and still can’t get new ones.
@@RidgeLife after a couple seasons what are your thoughts? btw, thanks for the review. I have a 2 piece platform on another stand that I don't like. This one seems to be a solid? Is the seat easily removed for off season storage? Also, that second ratchet tie down spot seems a bit goofy because it moves. What do you think of the stand overall?
Probably one of the best installation and assembly videos of a tree stand I've seen yet. Very good job!

Very true.
I can't figure out what the "rear support hoop" is for. Neither you nor the instructions explain it beyond stating to attach it. After that - nothing.
Hmm sorry I put together everything provided.
Excellent video. Generally good content but IMO some of the other vids are just divisive crap.
Sorry sir! Have a great one!
I bow hunt 17’-20’ and from various stands. It’s all about the wind for me. I mostly use this stand for rifle though but sure is comfortable!
Is this made in the USA ?
I don't think so.
Were’s your full harness?
Don’t take any chances guys.
Good point. Thanks!
It would have been quieter using a D6 bulldozer dragging a thousand cow bells out to your field instead of that side by side and trailer.
And the tractor when tilling it bush hogging the food plot in front of it is silent too! Ha!
Shooting rail was upside down
Thx!
Was searching for the Muddy Stronghold 1.5 and came across this. Seems to almost be a clone.
Yeah, I love it. It was my go to this year! Very comfortable.
Good review except you left out the toughest part of the assembly, the seat, having troubles with the seat bar and the back of the seat going on the bars that face upwards. Have everything else put together though.
Hmm. Sorry. I thought I got it all. I don't recall having too much issue.
Jordan I did as well
What I did was used one of the straps to squeeze the bars tight then slipped it right on, hopefully this helps the next person. Happy Hunting
Thanks for the tip!
It would help if you lower the camera.
Sorry about that.
Weird! I’ve had mine up all year and no rust. Yeah missing parts is a pain!!
I think your shooting rail is upside down
I like it curved up for sure to be a good rest! Thx
great tree stand but they could of done alot better job with the instructions. they dump all the nuts and bolts into one bag so none of the bolts are labeled or anything so i had to do my best thanks to this video. if it wasnt for this i wouldnt have been able to do it.
Glad it helped!
17:02 I take a piece of paper write part info and make separate little piles, helps wonders!
I like a how to video that dosent tell you how
Say what?
Hardest tree stand to ever set up
I’ve done many and this one setup fairly easy.
Salesman
I wish I was getting a commission! Ha! I really like the stand though. I’ve hunted out of it several times this season and is my most comfortable stand for sure.
WOW! The people that think this is the proper way to put it up are clowns!!! Good Lord…look where the stabilizer bar is!!!🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
It has held up nicely over the years since setup. My favorite stand of many.
@@RidgeLifeLOL! It’s WRONG!
The stabilizing straps are Chinese cheap shit. And good luck getting new ones from big game. I’ve been trying for 3 years now and still can’t get new ones.
Hmm. MIne have held up as good as my others stands.
100% shill
100% awesome!
2 piece platform BOOOOOOOO
I love it!
