Here's a modification that I made. While the stand is on the ground, tie a safety line to one corner of the back of the seat where it will be closest to the tree. You may also want to attach the criss-cross straps at this time. Once the stand is up against the tree and the platform is level, walk the crisscross straps around behind the tree in opposite directions and attach to the ladder. Next, walk the safety line around the tree. Carry everything you need on your person before climbing, like ratchet straps and tree tether in a fanny pack. Pull tightly on the safety line as you climb, which will hold the stand against the tree. At the top, attach tree tether to tree and harness before installing ratchet straps. Then untie the safety line and install it at head height on the tree. Clip into the safety line for the trip down and secure the line at the bottom once down.

I like to add a Rachet strap to the ladder stabilizing bar. really locks the ladder in and reduces movement.

The 2 long straps that come off the platform I always tie them first before I go up to put the rachet strap on that way it helps keep the stand to the tree then after that you can make adjustments to them if need be .

I was a tower climber- I would put carabiners on the end of the rope on both ends and easily and quickly attach to your harness.

Another tip: You can tie a rope to one foot of the ladder, bring the rope back to a tree behind where you stand to start raising the ladder, and then back to the other foot of the ladder. This acts like the person standing on the ladder base and lets you stand it up the recommended distance from the tree.

Throw a couple bags of corn on the base of the ladder and it makes it super easy.

That would make it easy but in Missouri we can’t use any bait so I wouldn’t have that out with me. Bag of fertilizer could be used the same way! And if I timed it right with my food plots that would work great!

I use the life lines and my lineman belt with a long secondary to go around the tree while I hang stands. Until I can get the new lifeline hung.

Rare to see someone know how to tie a bowline the correct and fast way without making a loop first.
