  • Searle Wright was an composer, organist, choir director, and teacher in organ playing, composition and improvisation. He influenced an entire generation of American church musicians.
"Brother James' Air" is a well-known hymn tune composed by James Leith Macbeth Bain (1840-1925), who was a healer, mystic, and poet known simply as Brother James.
This arrangement of the hymn tune is played here by Geoff Olson, organist of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in St. Paul, MN. The organ is a 30-rank Wicks/Hunt pipe organ, supplemented with a Hauptwerk virtual organ system, using the 65-stop 1877 Father Willis Organ at Salisbury Cathedral, England.
