You done alot of good videos working on ur bike, which are cool to watch and helpful. Your bike is really awesome and I bet it is fun to ride.... I'm starting on a 2001 ktm 200 mxc and I don't have a clue about working on engines... but how hard can it be? We'll see.
Highly recommend getting the KTM repair manual as there is lots of good and detailed information in it which I'm sure you'll find very useful and it should make it a lot easier to understand how to maintain the bike.
@@TokyoOffroad awesome bro, on my list today as well. You'll be able to follow on RUclips, it should be interesting to watch my folly lol. Keep the videos coming and I'll keep watching.

I used Pivotpegz for a while when I had a 500 EXCF. Yes, they can be mounted lower than stock. And yes, if you have big feet you may find it easier to operate the controls. But all things considered, I still prefer that feeling of fixed conventional footpegs. I have Fastway Evo4 stainless footpegs on my TPI, which although not as light as the aluminum Evo Air footpegs in the video are cheaper and probably stronger and work well for my riding.
The main question is, why do you prefer the 250 and not the 300 or 350 f? It would be very kind, if you wrote your items, which details are made this decission? Thank you and Kind regards from germany!
I had a 500EXC before and wanted to ride a 2-stroke again due to light weight and ease of maintenance. Most of the riding I do is lower speed single track off-road, with elevation up to about 1,500m, so you don't need a lot of power. In Japan you can't register 300 2-strokes for road use. Some people put 300 kits on their bikes anyway and I've ridden some, but prefer the power delivery characteristics of the 250 as it builds RPM faster and revs out better. Still having a lot of fun on it :-)
what is that weights you put in your spokes? What is the function? That bike has a lot of mods? What do you think about the Huskys they came factory with all the same things as that one? Cheers
The spoke weights are to balance the front wheel, so it doesn't vibrate at higher speeds. The Husky TE250 has different rear suspension, subframe and plastics. Other things like the engine, carb, forks are the same as the KTM250 EXC. The mods I made, including the heavier fork and shock springs, VForce 4 reed valve, JD Jetting kit, SX head, tall seat, lower footpegs, steering damper, taller bars, I would have made to the Husky also, if I'd got that...
my dirtbike does that! Vibrate at highspeed >65km/h at road. I was thinking it was something normal.... tham mean I can add weights to the oposite side of the rim lock and that it will pass? Yes I fell that jack hammer effect!
N Garcia Yes, balance the front wheel and it will run nice and smooth. I prefer spoke weights, but you can also use stick-on rim weights if you have some narrow enough to slick on the rim. It'll make a big difference when riding on-road at speed.
Oscar Cuella I used a JD Jetting kit in my Mikuni. The settings were: Summer- Pilot: 30, Neddle Jet: S1, Needle: Blue, Clip:2.5, Main: 420 Winter- Pilot: 32.5, Neddle Jet: S1, Needle: Blue, Clip:3, Main: 430. I’d set the air screw depending on the altitude and weather. But would typically be close to 1.5 turns out from full in. I’m currently using a Keihin PWK 38mm Air Stryker short body carb with JD Jetting kit and it runs even better (particularly the low end response).
I highly recommend you open up your airbox. I modified a friend's 2017 Husky 300 by making some holes in the airbox top cover and it performed much better after the modification. Regarding the specifics of the optimal jetting, I don't have a 300 so can't really comment on your settings, but your pilot might be too small (27, or 30 would be better, especially for low temp). I didn't try the red needle so am not sure about the clip setting for that. The main jet size you could try a 430, or larger, especially if you open up the air box. If it still doesn't perform well could could try sending JD an email for advice. Be sure to state what modification to the bike you have made and riding conditions.
Thanks for the videos, I appreciate the attention to detail. . One question: I see you have quick air release valves on your fork. I had the Motion Pro Micro valves 11-0080, but found they would bind against the pre-load levers and my levers would not move. What valves do you use? (I have the 17' KTM 300 Six-Days [USA version] w/ 48 Xplor fork)
Hello, very nice mods! I also did some protection mods in my 17' 300 EXC and, since I'm 6'4" 92kg, also have the EVO Air pegs and 50mm bar riser. You handlebar looks much higher than mine BTW. Do you feel any loss of steering control? Also, what difference do you feel with the FMF Powercore 2 pipe?
I'm using Renthal RC High Fatbars (609-01-BK). They are one of the highest rise height bars available. I really like the ergonomics of my modified bike. With the Seat Concepts high seat and EVO Air pegs in low position the bar height feels fine when sitting and steering is no problem at all. When standing it feels perfect. Regarding the FMF Powercore 2 silencer, I'm not sure whether it adds any power, but it sounds more powerful :-) It is quite a bit lighter than the stock silencer though and is very reasonably priced at about $120.
Hi there I was just wondering, How did you get hold of the decals for your bike I’ve tried asking my Ktm dealer but they said you have to prove ownership for the red bull decals. Do you have a link to where you got them from it would be much appreciated ✌️
Jay Lye - I ordered them from my local KTM dealer when I purchased the bike. However, I heard from some others people that they couldn’t order them from their KTM dealer, so I guess I was lucky.
Kungfugraphics on ebay will make this sticker kit, they will custom match anything and send you a proof whereby you can make changes to confirm before the kit is printed. I recently had them produce this graphics kit for my 2016 KTM xcw six days
How did you come across the 15.5 graphics kit? Looks awesome I thought those kits weren't available for purchase unless you bought the bike originally.
Thanks for the quick reply. Any chance you have a part number? I think they may restrict it here in the US. I have trouble finding any legit red bull ktm stuff. It's all "factory look"
Should go OK. A friend of mine use to supermoto a 300EXC and he had a lot of fun. If you're a big guy though, a 450, or 500 four stroke would be better...
Nice setup! I love my 250 exc as well! Im 6 foot 5 but only raised the handle bars, what do you think about the foot pegs?? Do you notice it being strange that they are to the rear of the bike as well?
Enduro Trail Riding - highly recommend the Evo Air footpegs. 3 of my friends have them on '17 bikes and like them too. If you're 6'5" I'm sure you'll find sitting and standing so much better.
Enduro Trail Riding - Yes, I adjusted the rear brake lever height down. To ensure that you have the recommended amount of free play you'll need to adjust the plunger which goes from the rear of the brake lever to the master cylinder. I reduce the length of the threaded part slightly, remove one of the nuts and Loctite the remaining nut in place to allow enough free play
Well, thanks again for the detailed Informations about everything. I will still wait for the third Part ;-) If you have the opportunity to buy a new 2 stroke bike, not strikted by national law, will it be a 250 or 300 2 stroke?
Hobby Endurist Some of my friends have 300s, but I prefer how the 250 engine feels (faster reving). Note that my maximum riding altitude is about 2000m. If I was always riding at high elevation than this I might well prefer the 300 due to the extra power and torque.
The vforce power Reed's R the best money can BUY especially for getting that power band to hit harder and also if you want it's basically how u ride if u want to get thrown back Then they will do that like a turbo kicked in BUT hold on LoL well not really With the KTM 250 BUT the 300 KTM is a rocket ship with all those exact mods!!!
If there was a stock bike which fit me perfectly, performed perfectly and was reasonably priced I'd buy it. But no such bike exists. So I bought what I consider to be the best bike made for the riding I want to do and modified it to make it perfect for me. I still love riding it every weekend. Good times...
I have looked all over the internet to try and find some like those and can't fine them anywhere. Is there any way you could give me their phone number and I could call and order them?
They are used to balance the wheel. At low speed, or off-road, you won't feel anything. But at higher speeds (~>60kph) on smoother surfaces the front end will feel like a jack hammer if the wheel isn't balanced. Due to rim locks, or in my case the Tubliss system valve assembly, the wheels are grossly out of balance...

When it comes time to replacing them I might just purchase a similar graphic kit from Ebay as they are way cheaper...
Tokyo Offroad thanks dude! I'm surprised KTM let you order them? I thought you could only get them if you had a factory edition. What shop did you get them from?
yeah man here in the US they are restricted maybe they aren't in Japan or maybe his dealer just did him a solid ;). If you try and order them online here in US you need to enter your FE edition VIN number and if it doesn't check out KTM will cancel your order. Just tried again just now. Sucks cause I really like those graphics.

LOL. Here in Japan the price of a Sixdays 250 is about $10,000. Regarding the mods, it's a bit frightening when you add up all the parts and shipping costs! A rough estimate is about $3,300 for everything
Let me tell you that you have an awesome beautiful bike and if it was good to know how much did you spend, which it was a considerable amount (in my opinion I would skip a couple of parts) it will be also good to know how much weight did you add to the bike. Do you have any idea?
When it comes time to do a top end overhaul (150~200H), I might think about fitting a 300 kit. But I've ridden 300s before and actually like the way the 250 engines respond, so will probably not change. The Mikuni carb with the JD jetting kit is working really well, so I have no plans to change to a Lectron. I may need to change to a summer riding carb jetting setting, but the current setting I have works very well from sea level to 1,500m, which covers all the riding elevation changes I typically do...

Tokyo Offroad thanks dude! I'm surprised KTM let you order them? I thought you could only get them if you had a factory edition. What shop did you get them from?
I ordered them from my dealer in Japan the same time as I ordered the bike. All I know is they weren't cheap :-(
yeah man here in the US they are restricted maybe they aren't in Japan or maybe his dealer just did him a solid ;). If you try and order them online here in US you need to enter your FE edition VIN number and if it doesn't check out KTM will cancel your order. Just tried again just now. Sucks cause I really like those graphics.
KTM Radiator Shroud Left Side 2016 450 SX-F RedBull Factory Edition
In order to protect the integrity of these limited edition FE bikes, replacement graphic kits can ONLY be ordered for registered FE VINs. KTM will disregard any order submitted for non-qualifying VINs.
Please enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) into the text field above the 'Add to Cart' button. If the provided VIN does not match with KTM's registered FE motorcycle, your order will be canceled.
Hi whats the name of the upper fork guard ?
Eline carbon fiber fork guards
Do you sell this bike? make me an offerA
from where can we find that graphics kit?
Charalambos - I ordered mine from my KTM dealer when I bought the bike: Spoiler Left (factory) KTM 7900805003328A; Spoiler Right (factory) KTM 7900805103328A; Decal (factory) KTM 79008099300. The printed shrouds are nice because they are tough and last well even when using knee braces. However, they are expensive.
thank you ! nice videos man keep it up!!
Any chance you can link those graphics?
Kungfugraphics on ebay will make this sticker kit, they will custom match anything and send you a proof whereby you can make changes to confirm before the kit is printed. I recently had them produce this graphics kit for my 2016 KTM xcw six days
Awesome bike mate. How much did all this cost you!? Must be a $20,000 bike by now!
LOL. Here in Japan the price of a Sixdays 250 is about $10,000. Regarding the mods, it's a bit frightening when you add up all the parts and shipping costs! A rough estimate is about $3,300 for everything
***** Wow that's not expensive at all! Here in the states a 6 days is $13,000 by itself before tax. I gotta move to Japan to build my dream bike! Lol!
***** Really because the shop I work in is selling them for 13 because dipshits buy them like hotcakes. Lol
Let me tell you that you have an awesome beautiful bike and if it was good to know how much did you spend, which it was a considerable amount (in my opinion I would skip a couple of parts) it will be also good to know how much weight did you add to the bike. Do you have any idea?
Never seen a 6 days in the US above MSRP which is $10k and change. Where do you live? That sucks for anyone paying 13k haha wow.
Great build!
Nice bike! Very knowledgeable!
wait do you live in tokyo?
Conner Keys - Yes, for the past 28 years.
@@TokyoOffroad where is that?
BUT I'm trying to say is that it's all about throttle control!!
Next a 300cc kit and a Lecteon carb.
Braaaap!!
Tokyo Offroad where are those woods?
The last couple of section were in Chichibu and Chiba I believe.
Ben Wheat Close to Tokyo, Japan. The rocky trail is in Chichibu area. The second woods trail is in Chiba
STIC metering block Rapid Transit - hot, honest reports keep coming in from the 2018 field: MOG; 2018 ThumperTalk KTM 150: ”…..The stic pulls crazy hard at part throttle, when the engine is only just warm it's actually shocking how hard it pulls on 1/2 throttle, when fully warm it settles down to just silly power….” - “…. I forgot to say just how fast this little motor is, it's crazy how quick it is from the mid up, it screams unlike any bike I have ever ridden, a bit like a kart engine I bet, it's so fast …..” - “…..but it's actually the part throttle gains that blow your mind , any other owners of STIC bikes will verify this via riding impressions , it's a totally unique product that turns the industry on its head…” for the tuning secrets contact George at STIC super torque
so where's the Riding part??
Riding part is from 9:20. Or if you want to see more riding and less taking about modifications, please check out any of my ride videos which I upload weekly on Tokyo Offroad channel.
Looking good!

good video and nice bike. but for this bike you need 13, 52 because it is an hard enduro bike ;-)
Yes, when I first got the bike I thought the 13/50 gearing was a bit tall. However, now with the carb jetted nicely (JD Jetting kit), the SX head and most recently the VForce4 reed valve, the engine is running much more responsively and stronger. Now the 13/50 gearing feels just about right...
Not a six days?
Liam Eyles it started out a Sixdays. I changed the plastics...
Tokyo Offroad hey man where did you buy the redbull graphics and plastics???
Aqua Mountain Production's. From my local KTM dealer
Nice bike 👌🏼
very nice bike!
You have more modifications on your bike than the pros
Dimitrije Mijailovic - If you think my bike is bad you should see some of my friends’ bikes! Clakes, StegnPegz, Flexx bars and 101 other essential bolt on mods which increase your riding skills way beyond the Pro riders ;-)
it is a super nice bike :)
Nice bike
I spy that doggy again :-)
GODDDD!!!!
damn that is a sexy bike
Nice dog
Great bike but shitty vee ruber tires...
Fantas3k - The Vee Rubber tires work well when new, but don’t last long. Recently I’ve beer using Shinko 505 Cheater and 525X rear tires, which I really like...
👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Trick!
LMAO 30seconds of Riding. WOW
I upload ride videos, typically 15mins long, weekly to Tokyo Offroad channel. Please check them out if you're interested. This video is about my bike modifications and therefore doesn't have a lot of riding...
What is the purpose of the spoke weights?
They are used to balance the wheel. At low speed, or off-road, you won't feel anything. But at higher speeds (~>60kph) on smoother surfaces the front end will feel like a jack hammer if the wheel isn't balanced. Due to rim locks, or in my case the Tubliss system valve assembly, the wheels are grossly out of balance...
ACER-BIS wher is the H in acherbis?
There isn't an h in Acerbis. However a common way of pronouncing it is with an h. This is an official video of Acerbis: ruclips.net/video/QFby5MyEu5o/видео.html
