Absolutely fabulous, amazing, and brilliant. Those pieces of art didn't get enough camera time - I want more! The finesse is astounding - with cardboard no less. Who knew? One man can change a point of view and into beauty. Thank you for that. 🌹💖
You guys did a whole 10 minute video on him and his cardboard sculptures but couldn’t even put the mans name in the title. Why couldn’t it have been “How James Lake uses cardboard to make lifelike sculptures”. Impressive video nonetheless
For Mardi Gras in Mobile, Al we use cardboard coated with a green contact adhesive, let it tack, then rip it by hand or cut it into pieces and build the object. This guy is MUCH better than us though! Thanks Wired!
WoW! This so cool! Like papier-mâché with cardboard.I love cardboard .My first job was breaking down heavy duty boxes for office furniture with a razor knife. I slice boxes open in seconds. I definitely want to try making a T-Rex head. What is the name of the stiffening agent for material? “Pabapol?

Awesome!! Very inspirational talk! Liked the style of approach towards a sculpture with so much of consideration left for the viewers to fill in through the perforations and sense the ecstacy of the art. Usually, 3D sculptures are to be viewed 360 degree. Here you add another dimension to your art to make it 4D(if I may be allowed to). Thanks to you and your art!!
I would think it's not archival . I would think unless it's sealed , over time it will warp then eventually disintegrate into dust ....but hey eventually everything does , even the finest paintings will fail . Talent off the scale ....

great technique but the sculptures are just ordinary people standing, people reaching, people watching the phone it happens a lot with artists that have a different technique. they tend to think that the technique is enough
imagine displaying in an area people visit with their kids and spoiled brats start attacking the sculptures with their fingers and irresponsible self entitled parents laughing and gently telling their kids "don't touch thaaaaat" and laughing. but damage will be done no matter what, OH well.
