- I wanted to create a short video in tribute to everyone's favourite smiling hero as a way of practicing getting back into video editing. This turned out to be quite the fun challenge - I haven't edited anything for RUclips upload in a few years since my other channel died.
I hope someone gets some enjoyment from this video - as simple as it is, I put in quite a lot of work! I hope it shows. :)
We did a lot to help Haurchefant, and while many would choose to further use us to their own ends or otherwise obfuscate their thoughts and feelings, Haurchefant was a warm smile in cold country. Always cheerful to see us, offering respite. When finally given the opportunity to assist us in our direst times, he did so happily, at length, and with no hesitation. He was our staunchest ally, and outspoken at that.
When time came for him to protect, he did so with haste, and offered comfort to the last breath.
The part that hurts my heart most, however, is his father's reaction. With shuddering breath, struggling to maintain his composure as a Count should, he speaks praise of his knight son's deeds. When at last he can hold no longer and topples to the ground in grief, truly the event sunk home for me. No parent should ever outlive their child.
I miss you, old friend.
This was such a lovely tribute :) Any time that I'm particularly missing Haurchefant, I'll come back to this video to relive all of these moments we had with him. Thank you for sharing this!
