Completely agree! They make it through winter freezes and look lovely through hot, dry summers. We added more last spring & they are thriving. Appreciate the fertilizer advice!
Texas Sage attracts bees, so be sure to plant it far from a porch or a children's play area to avoid being stung by bees. But Texas Sage is also one of my favorite native Texas plants.
They are also deer resistant. We have many many deer in our neighborhood and they don't even touch the Texas Sage plants. But they will each nearly anything else. So if you have deer issues, thats another reason to use Texas Sage in your non-fenced landscaping
Hey fellow Texan. Where have you been ? Glad I found you. Look forward to watching more videos on plants that can survive our crazy weather here in Texas.
I'm so glad I found you! I'm new here and from Dallas, Texas and wonder... When would you transplant a Texas Sage? I have a two year old Texas Sage that I want to move. Is it safe to transplant it now or should I wait for early fall???? Many thanks in advance 🦋🤠🦋
Dormant season for sure. That’s goes for everything. Someone gave me 3 big bushes if I’d dig them up and they all died except one because I had no choice as to when I could get them. Early summer digging killed them.
We have two in our yard and I love them, but not where they are. How would you recommend removing them to transplant? I don't want to stress them out too badly. We also plan on getting more. Also to note, I'll be looking into my issue on my own as well, just I also like hearing about what has worked for others :))
Hi, wondering how often should I water them. We bought one a week ago and watered them twice, but today when I check them, they are wilting, is this because I water too much...? Thanks in advance.
Have these beauties in my South Florida garden ❤ Zone 10B
Texas tough! ❤
My Texas Sage bloomed twice this summer here in Texas and both times it rained like crazy within a week. 👍
Yes! The myth is that they bloom before it rains.
Thanks for the video, we are actually building our landscape this fall. One of the plants we are using is the Silverado Sage.
That’s what this one is! Love it!

Wow! That’s awesome!
Just got mine, glad I found this in Malaysia.
Growing one here in Florida Zone 8. Beautiful blooms!
That’s awesome!
Thanks for sharing. I too have lost a few front shrubs due to extreme heat/freezes here in N. Texas. These might be just the answer.

there was a big thunder storm with lots of rain last month. And about a week later, all the Texas sage in my area were completely covered in flowers.
They’re so beautiful!
These are all over Las Vegas so they can definitely withstand some heat!
Looking for plants to hide utility box. To plant around it. Will this one work? Thanks
What kind of potting soil do you recommend for the Texas sage?
Make sure to look at the leaves- make sure the leaves on your sage plants are the same shape and that way they will all bloom at the same time

Mine is about 6 ft tall but only bushing around the top 2 ft. Is there anything I can do to get them to sprout lower on the limbs?

They propagate super easy, so there no need to buy more. Just take some cuttings from the end of branches and stick them in dirt, and they will grow.
I want that plant

You may be watering too much. They’re very drought tolerant
I have a 1-year old Texas Sage in the ground. I live in Las Vegas Nevada. How and when do I prune my plant? Thank you.
I don’t prune them at all unless I’m propagating. But the best time is in late fall
Do you cover them if in a container during freezing temps?
You don’t have to but I will bring mine in the greenhouse
Thanks for the info! Can you recommend a taller growing variety? Something 6-8 feet?
I believe the Silverado variety will get about 6 feet tall or ao
Any local nursery recommendations? Trying to spread out from my usual Houston Garden Center?
I go to Jorge’s Hidden Gardens
Warrens in Kingwood or Kingwood Garden Center.
Can this plant be easily propagated?
Absolutely
