I just picked a 1968 Case 580 CK to build the garage for my channel. I am trying to learn as much as I can about this type of equipment. I will be digging in to it in the next week so thank you for your video man.
Hey man you're welcome. I plan on making some more videos with this backhoe when i have a little more time. I've got a lot of stuff to fix on it. Im going to check out your channel..
Thank you for making a such a great video! Information was so helpful. Although I am working on the Case 480E LL Fuel Injector Pump, Your video gave great insight. Thank you again!
Hello. THANKS, Very much for this video! The throttle linkage shaft, on the top of my injector pump is leaking,,, dripping. I'm losing my line pressures after sitting for a while, making my 580K very hard to crank over & start. I Recharge battery 2-3 times, use block heater for 1/2 hr, & a small shot of either. AFTER I get it started, it runs & restarts like new. I wish I was able to see how much force it took to pop off that drive gear! I heard you hitting something? It took a LOT of force to pop off that gear,,,, I think, that I might of turned the motor slightly, when pulling off that gear.. ? Maybe I should have scratched timing marks on the flywheel/ crank pully, on that gear, & on the housings too? I cannot get the pump back on! The gear & keyway do not line up. Looks like I need to turn my motor about an 1/8" in order to get the gear onto the key.? (Im holding a mirror in front of the gear, & I can plainly see the misalignment.) Will moving/ rotating my motor totally screw up my injector timing? What should I do? Thanks Again.
Great video Jacob! I loved it. Please reach out to me if you need another fuel injection pump, fuel injectors or a turbocharger for the diesel engines you are working on. We have plenty cores, new and rebuilt available in our stock. Have a great day! Bojan at Goldfarb & Associates in Rockville, MD
Hello Bo. I have the exact motor & injector pump,,,, a leaking pump. The seal at the top, the throttle linkage shaft I'd say, is dripping & I'm losing all of my pressures making a cold start a total PIMA. After it starts, warms up & runs for a while, restarting & running is quick & perfect. Runs like a top. Do you have a good or rebuilt injector pump for sale? Do you rebuild pumps? If so, what would be the cost? When the motor is cold, it takes forever cranking it over, to get black smoke out of the exhaust. Would you happen to have a good, rebuilt or new STARTER, for sale? Please reply,,, asap. My 580K is broke down way back in the woods! Thanks
Actually bought this one from my local case IH dealer. But I would check out area diesel located in Illinois. I’ve recently had them rebuild a few pumps and they do a great job.
I have a case 480f that will not start, get nothing when turning the key on, Got a new starter and alternator, relays. Cleaned wiring and replaced or mended any loose or dirty wires, What else could it be. Just notice looking at your channel I have wires going to my pump. Would they stop it from starting?
I went to look at a Skytrack yesterday with the same engine. I don’t have fuel pressure going into the engine. I crank the fuel lines to see and there very little fuel coming out.
Jacob's Farm Life Yes I did. I crank one by one of the fuel lines going to the injectors while cranking the engine. I’m not getting any pressure it sips with no pressure.
Yes. With the pump off. You can spin the motor over and lock in the plunger and install pump and you’re good to go. It’s not really necessary to remove it as long as it’s working right and you can feel the plunger go in the hole. Hope that answers your questions. Let know if you need more info.
I'm not sure we had a guy come take it out but I can turn the motor over about anywhere and push and pull plunger out I've got the pump lined with the key but still no fuel out of injector lines
After thinking about it. You shouldn’t be able to get it 180 out because it’s keyed. Check and make sure you are getting fuel to the pump. Crack the line that feeds the injection pump and pump the lift pump to make sure you are getting fuel to it. Even being out of time you would get fuel to the injectors.
I don't know why you didn't clean off the entire engine since you had the power washer out anyway. Kinda silly to wash one little spot. But, good video otherwise.
Thank you for this video!
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching hope it helped.
This is going to make my replacement so much easier
The blue rubber fingertips zipp-tied on the lines is a great visual aid in the configuration! Thanks!
Used your advice Came in very handy It's running like a clock now 👍

Actually bought this one from my local case IH dealer. But I would check out area diesel located in Illinois. I’ve recently had them rebuild a few pumps and they do a great job.
Hello, thank you for your video. Do you have a reference of the pump ? I use the same machin and I must change the injecter pump.

You might want to check and see if yours has a electric fuel solenoid
How does that hood come up like that I have a 680K Man I hope mine does also???
Not sure on the 680 but on the 580k thats how they work.

I went to look at a Skytrack yesterday with the same engine. I don’t have fuel pressure going into the engine. I crank the fuel lines to see and there very little fuel coming out.
Did you try taking the fuel line off from the Lift pump to the Injection pump to see if you are getting fuel out of the tank?
Jacob's Farm Life Yes I have fuel coming out of the fuel tank.
Have you tried cracking one of the injector lines ?
Jacob's Farm Life Yes I did. I crank one by one of the fuel lines going to the injectors while cranking the engine. I’m not getting any pressure it sips with no pressure.
Sounds like it could be the injection pump. Any leaks anywhere?

So if we didn't take the plunger off to make sure it was lined up...is it safe to do that at anytime or am I screwed lol.
Yes. With the pump off. You can spin the motor over and lock in the plunger and install pump and you’re good to go. It’s not really necessary to remove it as long as it’s working right and you can feel the plunger go in the hole. Hope that answers your questions. Let know if you need more info.
Thanks...I've pulled mine off and got a leak fixed and now its not getting any fuel to the injectors..
Ok are you thinking it’s 180 degrees out?
I'm not sure we had a guy come take it out but I can turn the motor over about anywhere and push and pull plunger out I've got the pump lined with the key but still no fuel out of injector lines

Hey bro can u help me how to adjust valve clearance
Sorry but I haven’t done it on this machine.
@@JacobsFarmLife bro what timing for fuel pump I mean marking
Didn’t have to bleed any of the injector lines??
Nope
1.08 a question what is that on the left that says full cold add?
Looks like the coolant overflow tank.
@@JacobsFarmLife thanks
@@JacobsFarmLife do you know where you can see how much hydraulic oil the machine has?
There should be a little glass fill level on the passenger side
@@JacobsFarmLife but is that the one for hydraulic?
Wher did you get a new pump?
I picked it up from my local Case IH dealership.
Hey bro nice
Thanks brother
I don't know why you didn't clean off the entire engine since you had the power washer out anyway. Kinda silly to wash one little spot. But, good video otherwise.
Hey thanks.. The engine Definitely needs cleaned up. I need to replace the valve cover gaskets and that will be a good time to completely wash it up.
My injection pump is licking how much do you paid for yours
I believe it was around $1500
Once it starts leaking is there a fix mines leaking from the fuel line on the bottom...
Id love to be able to throw a new washer on there but it hasnt stopped the leak yet
