Each week night, THE LATE LATE SHOW with JAMES CORDEN throws the ultimate late night after party with a mix of celebrity guests, edgy musical acts, games and sketches. Corden differentiates his show by offering viewers a peek behind-the-scenes into the green room, bringing all of his guests out at once and lending his musical and acting talents to various sketches. Additionally, bandleader Reggie Watts and the house band provide original, improvised music throughout the show. In the final episode :
"Meredith has Alzheimer's but all the voice overs she has done in the show are the diary entries that she has written for Zola. Zola reads them before she receives the Catherine Fox.
Cristina sits beside Meredith who is on the hospital bed and holds her hand as they both watch Zola receiving the award.
At that moment Meredith closes her eyes as she enter a hallway, more specifically the hospital's corridor and walks towards something and meets all the characters that are either dead or gone. She exits the hospital goes into Joe's bar and orders tequila. Someone sits beside her, it's Derek he says
"I've been waiting"
and she smirks and replies
"why would you wait for me? Iam just a girl in a bar."
Derek looks at her for a moment and gives her the most precious smile ever and they kiss, the others enter the scene and they all hug and laugh it's a happy reunion. They all turn towards the camera and give the biggest smiles. Meredith opens her eyes and looks at Zola and smiles one last time.
Zola is in the OR wearing a ferry boat scrub cap and says
"it's a beautiful day to save lives"

Morning Glory I don’t know what ur even talking about. It’s still a great show. There’s been no shift- no change. Yea the people have changed a bit but it’s still the same storylines, and connections, and every episode is still a tear jerker.

That was what I was thinking! And you know, in alzheimer's you see people from the past so thats the way to bring the people that were killed, and also, Derek calling Mer to go with him and she dies peacefully with him

I love the simplicity of Meredith/Zola taking on their pre-destined roles. I feel like they are setting us up for Meredith to come up with the cure for Alzheimers though. Or possibly the final scene being Zola visiting Meredith in a home telling her she continued her research and found the cure.
There are plenty of opportunities to feature dead characters, but most of those actors left on bad terms. I doubt they'd be willing/able to get many of them back, including Derek.

I think Meredith's monologues that open and close each episode are journal entries that Zola, Bailey and Ellis are reading. Meredith is in a home and has Alzheimer's. The final episode could be Meredith dying and Derek, Mark, George, her mom, Doc, etc welcoming her to heaven.

I’ve watched greys since the very beginning- and I’ve never missed an episode. I rewatch them on Netflix all the time. I have no idea what I would want for the final episode of greys. I feel like all the things I would want would just never happen- it would require the hospital to like blow up & everyone die and be reunited in heaven. Bc I want to see Lexie and mark, and thatcher, and Adele, and the guy with the artery played by Seth green, and Denny, and Meredith’s mom, and Izzy, and Christina...I have too many wants and they would require a lot of moving parts to make it happen. It actually would be really cool if they brought it back to the patients- like what has happened w Mandy Moore’s character, and even Eva- the girl Karev fell in love with for a bit, and the kids who have been through peds. Just to show the impact doctors have made in these people’s lives. Which is what the show is truly about. Doctors doing their best. I do think it would be cool if they brought back the original ones like izz, Christina- and also Callie and Arizona- happy back together. Ahhhh I also don’t want it to end

Unpopular opinion(?): Derek and Meredith weren't the best couple. They managed to be okay after a while, but there were times when he treated her like garbage (which are usually not brought up, or excused if they are). I don't think their relationship was the center of the show; Meredith is the center of the show. Just her. Not Derek.

The creators of the show always said that the show wasnt about a love story between Meredith and Derek but rather a love story between Meredith and Christina.
