I hate to be that person, but someone's gotta say it - the only thing that would make this complete is SANDRA FREAKING OH!! And I have so much love and respect for her and her new endeavors but I gotta say, as much as I loved Mer and Der together, it was definitely her and Christina that were the sun! I literally stopped watching Grey's religiously when she left and although I go back every now and again to see what's happening and still love this show so much, there was just pure magic with Ellen and Sandra together onscreen. But I am still holding out hope that they would do that for the series finale of Grey's whenever that may be... But for now, I'll definitely settle for Patrick Dempsey! ;)

Who knows maybe next season will only be wrap up of 10 or so episodes; maybe less, but it doesn't feel right to end it on that note and they know it.

I was out of work (on leave) during the month of May. Watched every episode of Grey’s Anatomy - yes, 15 seasons or more. I was amazed every single one - puts your life into perspective and says “hey, you have nothing to worry about.....” Got me through that month.
What if Meredith got alzheimers and the whole final season of the show was her with McDreamy (Patrick) following her around everywhere she goes. He is only seen by her in her delusions but still in the show and they can have their perfect romance again

Ellen actually is from Everett Massachusetts, where I am from. She actually grew up and was good friends with my mother who died of brain cancer a few years ago. She obviously didn't come to the wake or funeral, but she sent my family a very nice message. If she dies of a brain tumor I'll probably cry.
