With cross products you subtracted j part but added the k part. Why?

@@gsuryasharon7703 yes but no, as normal vectors or trying to prove something is perpendicular uses the same process as finding a determinant. A determinant produces a scalar value while cross product produces a vector value

Take a look at finding the determinants of 3x3 matrices
It is because of finding the cofactor of the minors of the matrix. Look further into that and it'll give clarity.
