[Problem Solved] Fandelier 36" install. How to hang Chandelier with invisible/hidden fan blades

  • In this video I take you through the installation steps for hanging a "Fandelier" combination chandelier and fan. This particular model has a hidden blade ceiling fan. The fan blades only reveal themselves once the fan is turned on. Otherwise it looks just like a chandelier.

    Thank you SO very much for this video, and I really appreciate the fact that you humbly chose not to edit out the error, because we can only learn from it. This was very helpful, and well-done, although I will say that I’m sure your wife wouldn’t have been very happy seeing the bit of that impact drill so close to the leather cushion of the sofa. 😂 Thanks again! 👍🏽

    Thank you for the detailed video. I installed a low profile flush mounted fan with remote. I was so exited when i finished cuz it was a pain lol. Well, it is not working so i have to try again, instructions really suck, doesnt say anything about the parts etc. Im gonna try again and take it down and see if i can figure it out. This is my 2nd install, first one was a light fixtureand I totally respect electricity lol. Wish me luck 😅

    Did you control this fan with 1 or two switches or just the remote?
    I ask because you are right the instructions don’t even talk about switches at all.
    If you put a dimmer switch on this light with dimmable bulbs would it work?

    • @ProblemSolvedwithEric
      @ProblemSolvedwithEric  2 года назад +2

      So the fan can be dimmed from the supplied remote. I'm not sure how it would work if you wired it up to an existing dimmer switch as that would also reduce power to the fan portion. Our wall switch powers the entire unit and then we use the remote to control the light and the fan. I hope that helps

    • @ProblemSolvedwithEric

    • @blgillespie1

      This fan system cannot be reversed. The blades must rotate in one direction for them to move to their outer positions. Spinning in the opposite direction would not allow them to extend.

    • @ProblemSolvedwithEric

      This generally means it wasn't installed level. That being said, there is a rubber grommet that came with the fan that goes where the half ball is. This should reduce shaking

      If the LED light bar is properly seated, then you'll have to check the wiring above the light. Use a multimeter and make sure all your hots are going to hots and neutrals are neutral. Also make sure connections are solid. I've moved away from using wire nuts now and have been using these

I have a old light fan - this will take its place. But my wall switch has the light & a round on off for fan next's to the light switch more side by side each one turn on the one you want on, I know its crazy huh. Now the question is you think I should leave it like that?? Or upgrade it - either way if I keep it as is. Then I won't need the remote control. Only dim the light.
