You are the best Russian teacher I’ve found so far! You actually use Russian with your students unlike most online teachers! And you speak at an appropriate speed for students. Thank you!
I totally agree!!
I was flying to Costa Rica last week and the flight attendant saw me watching Amazing Russian and she invited me to sit in First Cllass.......
Jeffrey D , seriously? That’s nice! 😁
Lol 😂
Спасибо. You are an excellent teacher, and each video teaches me a lot. I appreciate the difficulty of the entire video being in Russian, while I miss out on a lot, I’m picking up more and more as I watch your lessons. Also, your explanations are very helpful.
Спасибо большое, Ольга. Наконец я понимаю как использовать императив. Делайте такие замечательные уроки часто! Пожалуйста :)
Tomas O Maonaigh , спасибо за комментарий. Я рада, что мои видео вам интересны и полезны. 😊

Great video! Its the only one I know of with verbal aspect of the imperative. Thanks so much, well done!
Jeffrey D , thanks. I also think it is the only one that explains aspects in the imperative.
Очень хороший урок!! Спасибо огромное!
Thank you for the lesson, and for the translation of the expression "keep calm" at the end! :)
Rares Galan , you are welcome!
I have never found such clear and complete explanation, especially on verbal aspects, that are in my opinion the most articulated subjects in Russian grammar. As an English teacher, I really appreciate and congratulate you for your approach!
Спасибо, коллега.
Хорошая преподаватель 👍🏾
Brilliant, you are a star!
Спасибо, Simon! Приятно слышать. 😊
Great video. Well done. Understandable Russian and the English explanations on the screen help alot. Good material. Thanks.
Thanks, Dena. Appreciate your comment.
Thanks 👍
very low views, but the contents is very good,, thanks for your work
this videos is more helped me to improving my Russian Language, thankyou ...
Man, Russian sure is one complicated language. You can explain the imperative form in English in about 10 seconds, here you need a whole algorithm for it plus a bunch of exceptions! Well that's just the way it is, and I'm so glad to have these videos to help explain it :D thanks Olga
Спасибо! I am glad it is helpful. 👍🏻
@@AmazingRussian very helpful! Your videos are great resources. 🙏
I wasn't sure when to use НСВ и СВ and the video makes it very obvious on when to use each aspect.
Grester , I am glad I could help.
Отличное видео, спасибо!
natalja milakovic , спасибо вам за комментарий.
Great again. Best wishes for 2018.
Derk de Bes , thank you. You too. Have a great 2018! 🎄
Olga !!! Thanks for all your videos, I'm from Uruguay ,we speak espanish .I'm teying to learn russian language myself and I feel glad for all your video lesson.I hope you have an great 2018!!!!!
daniel francoise , thank you! Happy holidays! 🎄
That's a neat trick using the они form to get the stem to form the imperative, not seen that mentioned before, it's not in my textbooks. The only slight snag is you have to know the они conjugation for all the verbs, but don't worry, I'm sure one day I will commit my entire Big Silver Book to memory...
Здравствуйте! Мне очень нравится ваш канал. Вы подробно учите и говорите четко и не быстро. Надеюсь, вы продолжаете создавать много видео больше с разными темами в русской жизни!!! И я хотела бы узнать, когда использовать императив глагола несовершеного вида и когда испоьзовать императив глагола совершеного вида! Покажите, пожалуйста!
Như Quỳnh Vũ , спасибо за комментарий. В этом видео, начиная с 8:25 объясняется употребление императива несовершенного (нсв) и совершенного вида (св).
I loved this lesson, by the way, I love all your lessons. I dont know if you have done a video whith opposites verbs, for exemplo: to go- to came, to live,-to die, to depart - to arrive. to buy- sell,-pay something like this. I need to lern the verbs. thank you for your good job.
José Matias , this is a good idea. I will keep this in mind. 😊
I've seen instances where the infinitive form of the verb was used as an imperative. It seems that this is used if the command is particularly harsh - like a military command.
Russian uses a lot of imperatives while English has some other forms to express a request, suggestion, or command. Imperatives might sound hash or even rude to English speakers; however, this is a language norm you have to accept.
Thank-you for the wonderful video, it was very helpful to see the endings explained with such clear illustrations. Would it be possible for you to upload versions of these videos without the background music? I'm sure that I'm in a very small minority, but it was almost impossibly distracting in this video and is the only thing keeping me from subscribing to your channel.
My reason is quite specific and borders on what would probably be called a learning disability: I learned music by ear on the violin as a kid in something called the Suzuki Method. I process all music automatically as if I were learning how to play it, mimicking along in my head as it plays. Imagine listening to this video while someone is pleasantly whispering the same sentence in your native language over and over and over again, that's what it's like.
Thank you for sharing your opinion.
While studying, I recently stumbled across this sentence: "Подержи́-ка э́ту у́дочку." I've never seen this before. What function does -ка have with the imperative?
The particle КА is a part of the interjection НУ-КА, which indicates an informal encouragement to do something. Quite often, КА is used with the imperative forms, which makes them highly informal. Hope it helps.
Отлично
mohammed , спасибо!
Спасибо олга за Отличный угок. В будущем , Планурете ли вы делать уроки для В2-С1 уровия.
Ugur Uzun , пока таких планов нет, но кто знает? 😊
Should just have subtitles but for the rest, amazing
Сохраняйте спокойствие )))))
Great video, as always. Thanks a lot, Amazing Russian! I wonder though if there is a mistake on the slide аbout using imperfective imperatives as invitations. Should it not be "Давай мне твой телефон" instead of the direct request with the perfective form "дай"?
moreretexas , no, there is no mistake here. Thanks for your comment and the question.
If I understood well, the imperfective is required with invitations, in this case it's a one-time order, so the perfective correctly goes there
@@alessiopino9753 Yes, of course. If it is a one-time order or direct request, the perfective дай should be used. And this is, probably, the most common way one would use to ask for someone's phone number in Russian. However, the point of this slide seems to be to demonstrate how imperfective forms are used to express invitations. Давай мне твой телефон ("Come on, give me your number " or "Go ahead, give me your number," depending on the context.) would exemplify this point.
Привет Олга! Do you have any videos explaining Russian prefixes? I searched and didn't see them, but maybe I missed them...looking for -по, -при, -у, -за, -до, -пере, -про... Спасибо!
NatashaLamoreux , no, unfortunately, I do not. Yet.
Пожалуйста не бросай нас!!!!
Rhaff Yrfon , ???
Never leave us...
Rhaff Yrfon , i understand both sentences. I can see they have imperatives, but what are the sentences related to? Who should not leave you?
Я имел ввиду, что я хочу вам продолжать работать уроками и никогда не бросить их выкладывать.
Amazing Russian И "нас" - твои подписчики
Спасиба за видео,!
Только один вопрос. Как о прошлом например: вы звонили маму( много), или вы позвонили маму (один раз)
Это тоже правильно?
siyavash zare , да, оба глагола можно использовать: Вы звонили маме. Вы позвонили маме. («звонить» всегда КОМУ? - дательный падеж).
I would like to purchase this material. Thank you.
