    Good video, nice to see one with the updated Hansshow kit. One thing, I wouldn't have fully disconnected the battery in that way... better to simply hold it in place firmly while slipping the harness connectors under the nuts and refastening immediately. Also, you may want to point out that the hood when finished latching should be ever so slightly lower for aerodynamic purposes.

    VERY helpful! The module and wiring have changed significantly AGAIN since you published this video but you greatly helped my install since other how-to videos' components are drastically different and the provided written instructions are not only ancient and almost irrelevant but also have blurry photos and skip crucial steps.
    The new module doesn't have a button on the face like yours did, but rather has a silicon strip on the edge opposite the connector that protects some kind of port plus the LED plus a tiny button that you kind of have to already know is there. You just press a nub on the silicone strip to actuate the button the same way as you describe in the video.
    The connector from the wires to the module is completely different and no longer includes that nifty little lever to lock it down. It's now much more like any other connector.
    Also, rather than being a separate piece the splice-in wire for the OEM motor is now incorporated into that mess of wires that connect to the main module.
    With the large HEPA filter on my 2023 Model Y I couldn't mount the main module where you did. I ended up mounting it on the interior of the passenger wheel well where there were no other wires in the way and using the double sided tape to mount it vertically on a slight angle so I could plug in the wire connector without interfering with the filter. I took advantage of one of the several holes through the wheel well to run a screw through one of my module anchor brackets and used some old rubber spacers and blue loctite to solidly anchor it to the car.

    • @tesbros
      @tesbros  Год назад +1

      If the center is sticking up but the rest is fine, it's possible the brackets being misaligned could cause that middle to buckle. Check your brackets first and make sure they are sitting correctly and securely tightened. If that seems fine, incrementally adjust your latch to line up horizontally and then focus on vertically. Checking one aspect at a time really helped me.

    Q: When using the Tesla app, I cannot get the frunk to close. It works just fine to open. The screen controls inside the car works fine too (open/close)
    Any help on these?

    Unfortunately, I learned the hard way that this part does not fit the 2022 model Y, that was built in Austin, TX

    HANSHOW IS RETIRING THIS PORDUCT? WHY? IS SUITABLE FOR MODEL Y 2023?

      It's suitable for all Model Ys except for the Austin built giga cast Model Y

      Here's a link to buy the Model S power frunk. We'll add the MS power frunk instructional to our list, but the basics will be the same as in this video if that helps. www.hautopart.com/products/tesla-model-s-power-frunk?gclid=CjwKCAiA2rOeBhAsEiwA2Pl7Q01EA3z6A9y_ZZrwytQ3Qh6wiwUhdfdbAFHuvtiN-q8654b_3jWGrBoCiOAQAvD_BwE

    This is too much work I’ll break something wish I could pay someone to install this

      You could call around to shops in your area and see if anyone is familiar with this install

    Install video was not the best. I've done one of these before, so I felt it would just be a refresher but I'd follow along, listen / watch instructions and then do it. Then I'd come back to the video and move on, only to hear you say "but before you do that, do something else". Super annoying.
    Also terrible that there isn't any info on wiring, other than12v. You could have at least referenced a diff video for another model vehicle. 😥

    Hansshow makes cheap trash, you’ll be lucky if this thing still works in 6 months. Do not buy their junk.
