No american or chinese factory worker can guess your personal setup, okay maybe they can. Let's see if 900+ is justifiable. 100 usd for Gotoh locking tuners made in japan, better than whatever is in marty, around 50$ for CTS push pulls. I can wire it myself. Around 200 for hard case, something like skb/gator, with TSA locks and can easily survive flights, unlike the the crappy epiphone wood cases. Both guitars definitely made in the same factory in china. So yeah, unless you really like the guy, there's something better for you out there. Tomo Fujita is a better teacher anyway, with better lesson videos. Lots of semi-hollow out there too. D'Angelico makes better for under 1000, Ibanez artcores under 1000 is also better. I don't know, but Epiphone is smoking some good stuff the past few releases with these pricings.

I’m crossing my fingers hoping to get your upcoming signature single cut. Beato’s and Marty’s guitars are not on my list at all although I love both of those guys’ stuff
Those who watched Marty way back would remember he played a Heritage 535 long before a Gibson 335. Gibson eventually caught on to him and started sponsoring him. Big misstep by Heritage…
I went to Guitar Center with the wife last month and was noticing that the Epi Les Pauls had a rounder back shape than they've had in the last few years. I'm going to speculate on the reason Epiphone has ghosted you. In the last 1-2 years we've seen Epiphone's top tier guitars jump in price to above $1000 and as much as $1500. I’ll just copy and paste what I responded to someone else who suggested the same thing: Limited outside consultant role, not employee. Was doing that for years while working with Epiphone. Wasn’t a problem then. Not a problem for anyone else. Even if that was the case, they still didn’t have the decency to say anything to me about it 🤷♂️
@@agufish Really big companies often are severely lacking in the decency department. Their loss. You have a great channel that's part of an ever expanding guitar community and if nothing else I think you've done right by them with your reviews/demos.
If the neck pocket is allowing the neck to be misaligned to the point of the strings hanging off the fretboard, it's gonna automatically have enough play in it to get reset properly for correct string alignment. Sounds like a defense argument for deciding to just return it? It's all good bud, at that price range I'd almost certainly done the same thing. My Sterling Cutlass was only $499, and I chose to fix it myself because you never know how crappy the next one could be? I'm happy when the basic husk is well balanced and looks good from 10'ft away.
@@Andrew_182 I understand what your stepping in, but I'm not smelling it. Do you believe the pocket is that far off center to one side, yet tight all around with zero room for adjustment? That would be something I've never seen in over 40 years of messing around with guitars. Just trust me on this. It's a fairly common issue on ALL bolt on neck guitars. If you can't accept that, don't. I'm just letting you know my perspective. Their not space ships boss, just mid tier Fenders.
@@andrewbecker3700 I’m not really too concerned with arguing the point to be honest as I didn’t put hands on the guitar in question and I don’t have a dog in the fight. I’m simply pointing out that it is in fact possible for there to be no room to adjust if the pocket is cut in the wrong position relative to the bridge. I’m aware that what you’re describing is a relatively common issue with bolt ons, and have dealt with it myself. If I were to bet I’d bet that was the issue too, but again I’m just pointing out that the former it is possible.
@@Andrew_182 Yep, anythings possible. With modern CNC machines doing all the major cutting on any mass produced guitar. The odds of it being that far off to one side and having zero room for adjustability, are slim to none. It's a mathematical improbability thats limited by the shape of the neck heel. If it's a rectangle that's cocked to one side, then it will have the same amount of play in the other direction. Just think about it for a second.
@@andrewbecker3700 that’s a fair point about the cnc. If it was as tight as he said it was though, another potential issue would be the bridge was improperly installed which we know has happened recently with fender products with their gold foil bass guitars that got yt vidoes made about the bridges being noticeably off center.
Nah, I'll still talk abut them because I'm a fan of the guitars, and there are some seriously skilled workers over there that deserve support! I'm just disappointed in the Brand team
@agufish Well, I stand by my choice to skip the news in this one, but, since you're the bigger man in this, I'll follow your example watch future updates. I can't promise to refrain from wagging a finger at them occassionally.
RUclipsrs are no substitute for bona fide rock stars. Epiphone are scrapping the bottom of the barrel releasing signature models for Schwarz and Beto who I've never heard of! Signature models should be limited IMHO to Rock stars who have a track record of being successful recording artistes.
If the fake Chinese companies can do a Malmsteen or a Blackmore knock off with scalloped frets, I don’t see why Harley Benton can’t do it for limited runs in the OEM factories they utilize
What's crazy to me about the Epiphone/Gibson situation is that you have been a champion of their products for YEARS and they couldn't spend the 2 minutes that it takes to draft, proof and send an email. The only thing Gibson loves more than living in the past, is shooting itself in the foot.

Not necessarily. If it’s cut wrong with no play, then there wouldn’t be space to reset it.
Lol Johnny Appleseed?
UNHINGEDDDDD God damn
I own a Gibson, I’ve never felt the urge to buy another, they simply aren’t worth the price, not even close
I have 5 and want to buy at least 5 more.
@@mertmunson1417 congratulations 😂🤣😂🤣
@@lowtunedg9211 thank you, thank you very much! I knew I’d win you over with that!
The supreme was never a custom shop model, Gibson USA
Gibson, passively aggressively ignoring Hunter since 2013
I say with that move, avoid Gibson and Epiphone content. I'm almost of the mind to skip the Gibson/Epiphany news in the timestamps in the future.
It’s not a supreme it’s a modern with a flame top and upgraded fret board.
May the Schwartz be with you
