Great workout. So surprised to see the bench press done with legs in the air instead of firmly grounded pushing down.
Great to see you training mate, that's really inspiring.
Gotta respect this man's attitude.
Checking back in 15 years later after watching Laynes Day in the Life of a Natural Pro back in the day, still training like a beast and hasn't destroyed his body with injuries etc. Dedication obvious on the injury prevention, rehabilitation front, no doubt. Big deal for someone in their 40s now. I'm almost 37 and back to doing some PHAT, but taking it slow and steady so the older body doesn't get a hit it can't recover from.
Putting in the work as always 👏
Yeah, bro. Had a nice painful knot in my back and had to slow down for a few days. Those deadlifts are inspirational!
7:20 Did the Cialis kick in?. Another great video. Thanks LN.
It´s great to see you perform that good man! Regards from Venezuela!
Impressive stuff as always. So strong for your size Layne. 👏
dude when you did the top set on deadlifts i thought it was a single and then Layne decided to go for a triple ,amazing
Just finished up six weeks of powerlifting. Back to some Strongman Training. Today is squats, tire flips, and atlas stones.
ok?
hi I'm not very experienced, but I'd like to learn a bit.. may I ask a few questions?
1. why conventional romanian deadlifts after sumo deadlift?
2. should I get one of those things that measure bar speed? seems cool
3. did you just do 1 top set on sumo deadlift? why?
4. if you gave this workout an RPE, what would you score it? at 10:14 you estimated your sumo set as 7-7.5 RPE, so does that mean you left around 3 reps in the tank?
5. how many times a week do you train this hard, or is this just 1 week of a longer program where intensity changes every week?
6. damn that gym has a lot of deadlift platforms. mine has none lol. should I upgrade?
7. my strength endurance is crap. I easily burn myself out doing a couple of hard sets. do I work on it by forcing more lighter volume work while attempting to build the loads slowly?
8. never tried the larsen press.. my intuition says it mainly makes arching harder and eliminates that little bounce you can get with leg drive, which would suggest to me it helps build power off the chest. I find people usually have problems with locking out, though, so why do larsen presses?
9. are heavy push presses a good way to train a weak lockout?
ok I'll leave it at that broski.. gettin too long and I know replying to all of these is already a big ask. but anyways dawg looking strong, smash those records.
Great training video Layne! Keep up the STRONG work!!! Wondering if you could consider doing a video on tips for lifters interested in getting into powerlifting (training and competing). I know this is a bit different from your reg content, but it would be helpful (for me at least:)
An absolute beast and unit! 💪❤️🏋️🏋️
Question: When you travel, how do you get access to different gyms? I know Crunch isn't everywhere. Do you get week passes or have a membership to a larger network?
Love the content, but, what about piano in the background?
I feel ya on the waking up in the middle of the night and mind thinking about nonsense, let us know if you figure out how to correct that
FOR THE ALGORITHM!!!
Pretty please, with a cherry on top, do a video where you give out tips on how to do the hook grip and how you progress it. Live you stuff, BTW.
Did he really sing doomsday from Architects at 5.35 while casually dl his sets?
Great vid, keepnit up
Do you have a link in any of your videos for the barbell deadlift jack you use?
For the algorithm!
man you're a beast
Hey Layne. Regarding DL: would you consider sumo a better option for someone, who had (and still suffers from) low back injury? Also, do you find using a belt helps you with further low back injury prevention? Thank you, appreciate it!
When I grow up I want to be like Layne
dude maxed out on both the intelligence and athletics skill tree
Pretty high speechcraft as well
Layne, do you perform any specific core work? Doing a decently high version of PHAT 5 days a week (~20 sets per muscle) and finding I lack the time and motivation to perform core work at the end
Try supersetting your core work with some isolation/accessory movements.
5:25. Doomsday, Architects. Great song
On the bench, there was a small attachment with a cable hanging down. Anyone know what that is?
It’s a speed and measurement tool to see how fast he is lifting. That’s why he looks down after he lifts.
What music is popping off at the beginning? DAMN!
Was Searching in comments to find out ☹️
For the algorithm 👏👏👏🤙💪🤟🤓🥳😎
Yeah nice music! Do a video on gluten and peanut butter😏
WTF crunch looks like that there? insane...i hate gyms here in nyc lol
So, while I'm only a beginner and can only deadline 80kg for 1 rep. Seeing someone deadlift 275kg for 3 reps is inconceivable for me. 🤯😂😂
Beast!
Nice bro😎😎😎🔥🔥👍
@_biolayne1 yess sir
What a coincidence
I'm going back to sumo for my next training blockt
Also first comment?
❤❤❤❤
you're gonna need a longer bar
That's what she said
Sumo 👬
Bro, don’t hide your package. Show it, for the algorithm!
Beast!!
