We are onboard a MCI D45 CRT LE bus this time, a slightly newer one and different route compared to before. Route 651 is basically the school tripper for 51A, which mainly serves stops along Broadway from MacArthur Blvd to downtown 12th St, with a short segment going into Oakland Chinatown.
This route has two trips that leave at the exact time right before or after each other. When the first 651 is filled with students and it gets full, operator will stop picking up any more passengers and leave the school early, and the next bus will take the remaining students that were not able to get on. In fact, this is a very common situation where many other school routes like 654 from Skyline High School to Fruitvale BART, with four trips leaving at the exact time.
