    Thank you to Polenar Tactical and Ziga for this short review 👍
    A small correction- the Rifle Set (where two AR-15s are pictured) is for rifle care 🤣
    For pistols there is the Handgun Set where instead of Teflon Grease there is CLP OIL, which works much better for pistols.😁
    The Teflon we use is original, from the USA. That is why our products carry the registered Teflon mark. Our products are completely safe for wood, polymer or rubber ❤👍
    As far as the cleaning method is concerned, everyone has their own - if you want to know ours, please visit our RUclips channel.👋
    We wish you all the best in 2024 ❤

    Probably excellent products, overlooked is simple mineral spirits or paint thinner fro carbon removal. Paint thinner is essentially mineral spirits but with some added solvents. Fast, effective, far less costly and safer on the polymers it contacts.

      @PolenarTactical  6 месяцев назад +12

      Mineral spirits - is that similar to "white spirit" or something like that? I once got a whole bottle and it's essentially very similar to refined diesel. I used a lot of it for my Yugo stuff as it was still conserved and full of cosmoline

    My favorite product for cleaning precision bolt guns is BoreTech bore cleaner. If the guns are really dirty (hard carbon deposits or heavy copper fouling), I use JB Bore Paste and Kroil. JB Bore Paste and Kroil will literally have the inside of the barrel looking like new.

    • @ZZebra
      @ZZebra 6 месяцев назад +1

      Someone who knows his stuff right here. Boretech is indeed excellent, i use it if something is really dirty and needs that extra power. Otherwise good ol' Ballistol works just fine for moderate fouling. JB and Kroll can almost make a barrel mirror shine but then again outside of expensive precision rifles i don't bother.

    Is the gun cleaner chlorinated or non-chlorinated? For storing rifles with certain barrel steels long term thats important to know, if its chlorinated it'll require additional cleaning/preparation prior to storing to protect the rifling long term.

    • @PolenarTactical
      @PolenarTactical  6 месяцев назад +1

      Good question
      No, it's not clorinated. RifleCX website states: "It does not contain cadmium, lead, acetone, corrosive or toxic substances."
      I have looked at their chemical safety sheet that is mandatory for all products on EU market and it states that the product contains: hydrocarbons, C-7, n-alkanes, isoalkanes (butane and propane as propelant gas)

    I do wonder how the teflon spray behaves on older types of polymer, like on bakelite. Especially on stuff around the 70's and similar. Would that still be rather harmless?

    • @m4rvinmartian

      Do not ever use Teflon spray on a gun. I have never seen an application where it did not turn into glue at some point.

    • @PolenarTactical
      @PolenarTactical  6 месяцев назад

      It behaves the same, it's inert, chemically inactive and resistant to temperature changes. Teflon in this spray is micronized and will create a very thin layer on the material that you can not feel or notice with your hands apart from shinyer look and a bit slicker surface.
      It's harmless to any material and it will only make it look better (less scratched and less damaged). I have used it on my bakelite mags without any issues.
      If you want to remove it for some reason, you just use RifleCX gun cleaner and wipe it down, it's that easy

    • @PolenarTactical
      @PolenarTactical  6 месяцев назад +1

      @@m4rvinmartian it seems to me that you never tried RifleCX
      I dont know what other teflon products you have tried but if they really contained Teflon or PTFE, then what made it gunk up, sticky or like glue are the binding compounds. This is because teflon is chemically very stable and doesnt dry out, doesnt reack with water or other cleaning solvents, doesnt melt under high temp and doesnt oxidize.
      The RifleCX teflon spray doesnt really leave much else than thin layer of teflon and binder on your gun. It not oily, it's not sticky, it's dry
      Maybe you are thinking about teflon grease - that is a different thing and it already comes very viscous from the factory and similarly to ceramic or carbon graphite greese it's only intended to be used in high pressure enviroments, not on normal gun components

    Ironically, now that I’ve purchased more expensive guns in the years like my HK their finishes and material qualities just don’t seem to require as much cleaning to keep them functioning correctly, and not corroding.

    • @PolenarTactical
      @PolenarTactical  6 месяцев назад +3

      Most modern guns won't corrode if stored correctly. The problem is if you use corrosive ammo or use the guns in humid enviroment, in rain, under more extreme conditions - or the worst, if you use guns in summer and you are sweating - the mixture of salt, moisture and corrosive oils from your skin can rust even a Glock teniffer finish, tho probably only on surface.
      Each summer i fins rusted patches and figerprints on some of my guns despite wiping them down with oily rag.
      But yes, modern guns, ammo and storage methods require almost zero maintenance unless you are shooting suppressed

  • @stangiles
    @stangiles 5 месяцев назад

    I don't really want to use Teflon because it may break appart at higher pressures and/or Temparatures and form Hydrofluoric acid, which will damage the gun. Granted, I never saw this happening myself and just know this from hearsay. As long as you keep it away from the inside of the barrel & gas system, it's probably fine. Nevertheless, why risk it? But the restoring effect of that spray on plastic is really cool though.
    How do you prevent this from happening to your guns? Do you take any precautions before applying it?
    Do you know if the barrel foam contains ammonia? It doesn't say anything on RifleCXs website.

    • @PolenarTactical
      @PolenarTactical  5 месяцев назад

      Teflon is chemically and temperature stable, it doesn't break down. The teflon spray creates a very thin film on the surface that is not oily or sticky. By itself it doesnt provide a lot of lubrication so additional oil is recommended.
      Teflon mainly provides a nice protective barrier over the gun parts after they were thoroughly cleaned and degreased.
      No, barrel foam doesn't contain any ammonia. You can download the chemical safety sheet for any of the RifleCX products from their website

    • @stangiles
      @stangiles 5 месяцев назад

      @@PolenarTactical Thanks for your reply. After reading it, I looked into it some more and it turns out that thermal decomposition of PTFE doesn't really happen until 450-500°C and the resulting fumes are, if anything, mainly a problem for the respiratory system of the shooter, not the gun itself. Needless to say, it's also highly unlikely that any part of a firearm gets this hot during normal usage. So in a nutshell: you're right. Another piece of fudd lore laid to rest.
      Thanks for the info about the foam. I somehow missed the chemical safety sheet. My bad.
      Cheers.

      Gun prices depend on where you're allowed to get them from, when you're actually 21 you can inquire where and how much they are.
