Here is the progression. 1. The lining is lasted and glued to the insole. 2.Tacks holding the lining are removed and the toe puffs (stiffeners) are applied immediately. Paste is applied and the upper is lasted and tacked to the insole. 3. Everything is left to cure for at least 12hours before the underside of the uppers are glued to the insole.
You could do that if you have the type of stiffener that molds to shape when soaked in a solvent. I don't have or use that so I do it this way so as to shape my stiffeners very well.
@@onyigeanna8508 there are several alternatives. You can even skive down insoles board and use it. I have heard of people who dip insoles board in thinner to make it pliable. Try that too and see.
The whole video is exactly how I lasted the upper sir. From lasting the lining, through installation of the toe puffs to final lasting of the upper itself. Everything is there nothing was skipped. Perhaps you are confusing the lasting of the upper with something else. If so, please do explain and I will be glad to point out a video where that was addressed; if we have it. I enjoy learning and watching you work.. #Perfection
Thanks a million.
just what I needed, thank you!
It's always a joy to hear feedback like this.
After you lasted the lining, did you leave it to wait before removing the tacks and applying glue?
Ty for answer.

How come we cannot just glue the upper and lining together and then last both of them?

Please what stiffner did you use on the toe part?
It's fiber board. Much like insole board but thinner.
@@KpomoBespoke thank you, but what can substitute for it? Apart from the one used with heat..

@@KpomoBespoke ok sir, thank you so much...
Is adding top bond on the vamp line much better than using the ordinary popular gum?
It is in my opinion. Especially if you are hand lasting as opposed to using machines. It lets you adjust the vamp properly before the glue sets.
Pls what is the name of the white glue you applied on the vamp
Top bond is the brand I am using. There are other brands as well.
@@KpomoBespoke thank you very much. But there's this glue you applied while lasting after you have last the lining that is not top bond
@@uchennapatricia3952 itd white top bond. You can ask for wall paper paste.
@@KpomoBespoke oh. The one used by carpenters? In a white container with blue cover
You didn't show how u last the upper , u skipped that part and it rendered d video useless.
