Ghosts is the best show. It cracks me up, but the characters are so well done, and this show just breaks your heart sometimes. So good.

The episode where the Captain's squad mate was leaving for the front and they couldn't acknowledge their feelings had me sobbing. Must've been so many men and women burying those feelings throughout history. It's heartbreaking.
Ghosts is brilliant. In the next series do we find out how the Captain died and Kitty ?
@@KevinGilmartinI feel that same way. Knowing it was illegal to be gay when my mother was a child, it is truly mind boggling. Knowing how many went their whole lives having to ignore and pretend otherwise because society was too based off the "ideal structure" and centuries old religious ruling in various stages/times. In the the late 1930s-1940s, I know it was all "very underground". Also, for many during that time they had to worry more about surviving than what may be occurring within themselves. However, it was a time for many to come out in their own small, but safe corners and the world already catered to that. Captain always gets my feels in a bunch and they did a fantastic job with his character. In another world, I could and would sit and listen to stories from those who truly were the real life versions of Captain. 🎉😢❤

Bloody brilliant! So often Comic Relief sketches are a massive let down - this was a decent length, well written and LOL funny. Fanny's comments on Australians were great - as was Kylie telling the Captain how much she supported his people. "You mean the forces!".

This was the first ghost episode I watched. It was on live and I watched it and thought: ‘hm, that was good’.
I’ve now watched every episode of every season a year later, around 4 times each. (Twice with subtitles, twice without).

@leonbanks5728 the shot for shot remake episodes of Ghosts US are interminable, but the original episodes that they made are brilliant.

@@PerfectAlibi1 yeah 😂 it is shown that he is attracted to men - Havers, Mike (in the first ep) and the director. He’s just been conditioned by 1940 standards to keep it hidden, which is why he doesn’t get what Kylie’s meaning.

She was also on Doctor Who. Astrid Peth..the episode about the Titanic space ship. She saved many lives. Great episode. 😊

It was in the first series, the episode where they thought they were getting Elton John to open their faire, and it turned out to just be Alice's boring cousin. I think this is better than the US version. Most UK shows are. Any other celebrities on this show that I should know about?
This was a skit for a charity fundraiser (Red Nose Day). Non-cannon presumably, so she did not appear on the show proper
That will be because the US version tried to carbon copy it, which never works because British humour doesn’t translate well into US settings. If they stray into more original writing and concepts it might improve, but the nearly shot-for-shot recreation is… painful.
@@AndersWatches actually, having watched both the UK and US series, whilst there are a few carbon copy episodes (mainly S1 E1, 2, 4, and 6 of the US version) it really does get better, and come into its own when it explores the backstories of different characters, and expands on ghost law, and also (slight spoiler) develops Nigel and Isaac's relationship, which I'm hoping they'll recreate with the Capt and Havers in S5.
That being said, I think the British one has an edge slightly. The US one keeps introducing new ghosts, but not developing them properly (or only 1 oe 2 episodes) apart from Nigel the British Revolutionary soldier Isaac's in love with

Kylie's been the only one to appear as herself, but there haven't been many. Only one I can think of, off the top of my head, is Jennifer Saunders as Fanny's mum.

I love Ghosts. I’ve watched it so many times on iPlayer. One of the best shows on tv. I can’t believe the BBC axed it. They do it with anything that becomes popular and has a good fan base. Goodbye Ghosts you will be sadly missed 😢💔👻
