  • In this video I'm going to explain how installing attic foil in your attic saves you money and the air temperature is exactly the same - it's the radiant heat. Now in a typical attic on a hot sunny day, if you use an infrared thermometer and you measure the bottom of the roof deck it's going to be somewhere between 140 and 160 degrees. If you measure the top of the insulation it's typically between 120 and 140 degrees. This insulation heats up because of radiant heat coming off that roof and in a typical attic the radiant heat comes off this roof and it travels across the attic until it's absorbed by the insulation. That's why the insulation can easily be 120 or 140 degrees! So when you install AtticFoil in your attic either by using the original AtticFoil and stapling it to the bottom of the rafters or by using the Superperf and laying it on top of the insulation we're breaking that path. Do you ever have any problems with trapped moisture, such as condensation on the outer layer of ductwork, moisture on insulation, etc. when using radiant barrier?

You shouldn't. Assuming the insulation is continuous with no "thin" spots. The thin spots would be colder and possibly below the dew point. www.AtticFoil.com is installed so air can still flow freely through the attic as though it's not even there.
