I love how you describe everything like we are all following along making a 10 foot long sword ourselves at home. I really hope there isn't 136,081 people making 10 foot long swords at home.
+John Creasey I don't know what your talking about, I have made all of his swords; along with a scale replica of his workshop, house and glorious, glorious beard. the beard was the hardest btw: sarcasm warning
Moments like at 18:48 on, had me imagining what it would be like if new neighbors moved in next door to you. Somehow, I think they might find you a bit odd. Cool builds though...nice work.
"Silent Hill 2 came out when I was 19..." ... I consider it the great failing of my lifetime that you're two years older than me and I don't make giant fucking swords for a living. ... sigh...
+OnyxZephyr333 Yup, passion, and just the way things are in our world right now. There are a lot of methods that get things done better and faster, but not necessarily safer. We are a safety obsessed, and litigious society, so you find people with experience saying things like, I'm going to do it this way... but you don't do that.

+Adamant Consternation i wouldnt rlly say RIP Metal Gear becous eit basicly was done by Kojima himselfe and he also owns the Fox Engine, so i wouldnt be suprised if there was a game just not called MG but evryone would know it is it, MGS was supposed ot be last one but we got V lets just wait and see what will Hideo do now once hes free from that dumb company ^^
Just looking at the smaller of the two, the game version, I think it's meant to have been one half of a giant pair of scissors, but with a modified tip. That mysterious rivet would be where the pivot screw goes. Great job on the knives and helm... it's more an instrument of torture and dehumanization than armor. The commitment to realizing these projects as perfectly as possible is what makes this shit so fun to watch. Every sword is like a fucking mystery that needs to be solved -- with grinders and torches and acid and whatnot.
Michael! you should get a strongman to test some of your weapons, they are used to moving heavy objects around and will probably do some really amazing tests with the weapons rather than a big bodybuilder
+slash rocks I didn't exercise and I'm able to lift a 7 foot greatsword I got as a gift. Pretty sure I can lift some of Michael's epic weaponry...if not with some difficulty. Some of his swords are heavy AF...
CFW Trick Lifting a 50 or 80 lb sword is one thing almost everyone can do that its another thing to effectively use the weapon. I can lift 180lb relatively easy I know I couldn’t use a 40lb one handed mace effectively, ya I can lift that mace up but you can't swing it worth of shit.
That stroll there at the end with your decorative helmet on may actually be the scariest damn thing I've ever seen and its sure to give nightmares of anyone lucky enough to witness it. Bravo m8, mission accomplished, you are silent hill pyramid monster reincarnated😬👍👏!!!
"There's a lack of mental asylums on this island. Its shameful really" Lmao. Mate, these are the best and most informative build videos I've ever watched. So funny man. Keep up the good work :)
Speechless.......Simply amazing. Also one of my favourite games: Silent 2. 45 y/o, been gaming since my ZX days, and have yet to find such an artistic macabre atmosphere in a game. Not too mention one of its coolest, mysterious creep dragging its sword. The sound alone made you run your ass off. Anyways, rambling aside, first time I ever see one of your vids. Your talent is insane, (not to mention your fine taste in all those amazing repros). Hats off m(_ _)m.
Very awesome video! Thanks for posting it. I was never interested in metal working before I started watching your videos and now I've just begun learning the basics to it and having a blast. Thanks!
"And then I just set fire to it..." AHAHAHAHAHAHA I keep expecting a thorough explanation of things and I'm constantly getting hilarious simple steps. I think I just died laughing.
i just randomly found this video. an all i can tink is this man is a blacksmith. he has long hair and beard. this is the man of men ! subscribed soim gonna watch al them videos !
Its awesome to see a metal smith / blacksmith create such works of art without using $600k of machines that the home smithy cant afford or have access to. How you work is honest and true to the soul of steel working. I always enjoy watching your work because of the passion you have for your job and how you approach it. I have no doubt that you've inspired many home smithy's because of how you show that its possible to create difficult pieces with minimal gear and a love of the art. Thank you.
This is possibly the most accurate recreation of SH2's pyramid head, ever. Other recreations mess up the dimensions and end up looking either weird and thin or thick and goofy. The dimensions are practically 1:1, showing off the power of the first design. Being made out of metal, this also shows how wrong Gans was to say it was impossible to do in real life. Fluidity and accuracy would be improved using light weight materials such as plastics or whatever Legend with Tim Curry used for those giant horns. This would allow easier lift the helmet with only some slight front heaviness. Of course, what was said about the blade comes down to preference. You could easily have the same scene with the corridor with the old one handed blade because pyramid head holds it more as Sepheroth does when he isn't moving (concepts etc., for example). In fact, each blade accommodates each head, and so you need the smaller, one hand blade for the original. There's a massive leap and difference between the character of the two Pheads, and it comes down to a comparison between the smaller and bigger Michael Myers of the first two films and fourth film and on. Phead simply does not have to be huge and carry a two handed blade to be menacing. His design and extra speed next to the slower, bigger film version is enough. Despite anything, like T-1000 and first Myers, the older one is fast and very strong, being able to lift a large muscle bound James (according to the dog ending credits which shows James without a shirt) quickly with one hand!
I appreciate your attention to detail. All the games and movies after SH2 that feature Pyramid Head have all gotten his "head" wrong. Glad you did the real deal :)
I looked up the basics and found that forging, quenching and work-hardening can increase the toughness (blunt trauma resistance) and hardness (pierce resistance - an arrow strike), and it depends on the metal alloys, quenching bathe additives etc etc etc. The basic information said it would be difficult to do both toughness and hardness.. but I imagine that toughness is the right way with appropriately hard alloy-metals.
"I wonder if the previous contents of this was flammable... I guess I will find out in a second!" "Doesn't smell very toxic..." "It can't be boilin' if i can stick my finger in it, right?" "I shouldn't have taken off my respirator to explain that to you..." "SUPPOSEDLY the gas coming off of it is hydrogen. Which isn't TO bad for you... But, who knows about the paint on the outside of the barrel." "Then, i set fire to it." "you're not really supposed to do this... But fer... Tiny little quick tacks... If you line up your target and cover EVERYTHING with your glove... you cant get away with not, um, wearing protection. DON'T DO THIS THOUGH."
this is probably one of the coolest things i have seen all year. i love silent hill 2 : D it's awesome that you went with the original design instead of the silent hill 5/movie redesign with the helmet...
Just finished watching all your build videos. They're absolutely incredible, informative and very enjoyable to watch. Looking forward to future ones, keep up the good work!
This was amazing and enjoyable to watch from start to finish. The part where you dragged the small sword and then the big one was so funny! Loved this, was truly a pleasure watching... Very nice job and you've earned a sub! :)
You sir are a true hero lol I've been questioning how would this look in real life and after 10 years later I've finally seen it lol I hope you take pride in you're work to you've done a hell of job .
I love the "and then I just set fire to it" as if that is a completely normal thing for you. And the best part of it is that it actually IS normal for you.
This is totally awesome! I really appreciate the amount of extra work you must have put in to dokument the whole build, but it was absolutly worth it imo, thank you for 45min of best entertain- and amaizement.
Lol, I asked for this to be made in the last video of yours but didn't realize you had already made it. Great work and it looks amazing! Big Silent Hill fan.
Fantastic job, Silent Hill 2 was my first (and still favorite) horror game, and the reason there is a badass Pyramid Head tattoo on my leg. Love what you do and glad to see something from my favorite series finally.
That "Free Stuff Rules" bit was hilarious. This video was fantastic, man! I'm going to be making fake gear, so watching real gear be made is inspirational in many ways - helps to understand how it could really be made and the restraints on real-world construction.
Hey brother! Love your work! Just a tip for you, you can also blacken steel by heating it till it starts to turn brown (not quite blue hot)then dunk it in motor oil. Repeat till it's the color you desire. Also dirty oil will get you a browner color and clean slightly blacker. The plus side of this is you get the cool color, and it protects the metal. Have a good one and keep doing what you're doing!
oh god no dont... look he is a amazing artist and yh his swords do work as swords but hes just a welder hes a very good one but hes just a welder dont learn to make swords from him hes not a blacksmith and tho i feel ppl will start hatin on my comment for sayin this but look at man at arms and learn how to make a sword properly (now i know i ganna get a mountain of hate so just get on with it others)
Currently the only welder I own is an old stick welder I restored. The most annoying thing about that is the slag... especially when working on art projects, thats why I am planning on buying an oxy acetylene torch pretty soon. Back to the roots, and by far the best option (imho) for sculpting. Already learned a lot about torch welding by whatching your videos!
holy crap! you're only 34?! And you already have a wife and kid and your own business doing what you love? That's the dream right there, and so young too! Amazing job
Every time a video of yours is so long I think, whoa 40+ mins, no way I will watch this completely, I will skip most parts. But no... its so interesting, I have to watch everything!
36:00 I love the suddeness of him going "And then I just set fire to it".
hello john cena
why is there a blank comment
Who?
Who?
30:58 "wonder if the previous contents were flammable..."!!
I said "NO" outloud XD
I love how you describe everything like we are all following along making a 10 foot long sword ourselves at home. I really hope there isn't 136,081 people making 10 foot long swords at home.
I dunno, man. That sounds pretty sweet to me
Haha, yeah you're right.
+John Creasey I actually forged a bit of armor using a few tricks I learned from this show. It was a ton of fun.
+John Creasey Pyramid Head army, unite!
+John Creasey I don't know what your talking about, I have made all of his swords; along with a scale replica of his workshop, house and glorious, glorious beard. the beard was the hardest

moment of silence.. "free stuff rules" ... that just got me dying of laughter.
i know i want it as a text message tone 😆😆😆😆
36:55
"It can't be boiling if i can stick my finger in it right?" made me laugh my ass off
I don't even know you, but I'm so proud of you for being so mindblowingly awesome!!
So glad to see somebody FINALLY bring the great knife to life! Fantastic build, were I richer man I'd order one today.
Moments like at 18:48 on, had me imagining what it would be like if new neighbors moved in next door to you. Somehow, I think they might find you a bit odd. Cool builds though...nice work.

It's great to see you building something for a franchise you love, you can really see the passion you put into it! Love your work as always
36:48 Cut scene to standing on top of gift "FREE STUFF RULES." That was adorable.

little known fact the scraping sound is not the sword, it is the sound of his testicles rubbing on the ground
i can confirm this
Wait his nuts rub on the ground lol
+Crum nugget the man's got balls of steel
+Crum nugget They hang so low that most of the time his balls are off screen.

U should make pro-rated battle armour - I'd like that helm to be able to take full combat contact from your blades.
What's the difference in hardening the armours for combat over aesthetics?
I looked up the basics and found that forging, quenching and work-hardening can increase the toughness (blunt trauma resistance) and hardness (pierce resistance - an arrow strike), and it depends on the metal alloys, quenching bathe additives etc etc etc.

if you wore that armor with wuuthrad you would be deadly and bulletproof
you know he'll actually do it if you pay him money like everyone else that gets a sword does
oh and for the record, you are one hell of an impressive craftsman. amazing work.
In a fallout scenario this guy would rule the world!
Your voice makes my ears happy
You should make a daedric sword from Skyrim
You have the coolest videos! Thank you for putting so much time into them!

Autistic Fingoloid Pretty sure he drinks it when he is thirsty.
+Autistic Fingoloid It's a respirator. It's easier to put on/remove than the gas mask style ones.
Im a jewelry apprentice and that gas torch weld was pretty nicely done, considering the size off a weld juncture, nice job man.
Torbjorn??
Omg! Yes! Lmao
Just finished watching all your build videos. They're absolutely incredible, informative and very enjoyable to watch. Looking forward to future ones, keep up the good work!
rust + skin=not good :|
This was amazing and enjoyable to watch from start to finish. The part where you dragged the small sword and then the big one was so funny! Loved this, was truly a pleasure watching... Very nice job and you've earned a sub! :)
You did an amazing job on all the pieces, but my favorite was the helmet!!
The SILENT HILL swords came out amazing that hat just EPIC and you killed me at FREE STUFF.
I am verry glad that you are still making youtube videos even now that you have a TV show, thanx and keep up the good, and so awsome work.
I love people who can still sit through a classic im playing silent hill2 again while watching this
Am I the only one that thoroughly enjoys the little fwoop, whoop and other assorted sounds he makes when describes something or draws a line
You sir are a true hero lol
I've been questioning how would this look in real life and after 10 years later I've finally seen it lol
I hope you take pride in you're work to you've done a hell of job .
Your skill with the strait lines with that plasma cutter always impresses the hell out of me
By far the best horror games ever made!
Awesome build dude!!
Very well done! My inner Silent Hill fanboy is in tears!

Hey Mike, don't know if anyone told you but the flame itself creates shield gas when you torch-weld. So, no flux needed. Keep up the good work!
That helmet tacking... I could actually feel the sandy texture on my eyes as I watched.
Mike I really appreciate your work. You always come up with crazy swords that really rocks!!!!!!
Michael....... You are awesome dude, and fun as hell to watch your craft!!!!
FREE STUFF RULES. His explaining on how to separate plates is amazing
Lol, I asked for this to be made in the last video of yours but didn't realize you had already made it. Great work and it looks amazing! Big Silent Hill fan.
Love it. Incredible work Michael!
this is honestly the coolest video I have seen for a very long time
Fantastic job, Silent Hill 2 was my first (and still favorite) horror game, and the reason there is a badass Pyramid Head tattoo on my leg. Love what you do and glad to see something from my favorite series finally.
Huh, just stumbled on this. Old silent hill fan, subbing just because of how cool this is. Look forward to see you popping up in my list.

I was too afraid ever finish playing the entire game of silent Hill !!! You do a geat job man!!

I agree Mike! Silent Hill 2 was fantastic!
Every time a video of yours is so long I think, whoa 40+ mins, no way I will watch this completely, I will skip most parts.
But no... its so interesting, I have to watch everything!
"Bleh, it doesn't smell toxic." Idk why that got me, but it did. Excellent job making the great knife.
this is so damn cool, I loved SH2 so much and this was a great watch. love your videos man!
