Cheers good video, especially showing the soft shackles, extension ropes with synthetic winch. Newer tech is good to see in action.
Steel cable still has it's place, but love seeing the new stuff being put to work.

Good day mate. I love how enthusiastic you Ausies are about off roading. You guys have good practical advice, and even better gear. You know when you buy Ausie gear it's real world tested. So well done to yous down under.
However, we up here is not so well equipped and we have to make do with what we have. Mind you, we do purchase Ausie equipment where we can, but it is very deer up here.
So, if I may, in a moment of 4x4 excitement, take part by sharing some ideas for future vids.
Now I know that these vids are made under set up scenarios to teach and share experience. However, in my experience, living in Namibia (Africa).. I'm sure you saw our proud boys playing with heart in the Rugby World Cup...getting off topic, we do a lot of work with highlift jacks. They make pretty good winches as well. Maybe you can do a video on "Poor man's solutions". Not all can afford said equipment, but have to reach a destination. In any case, in suck-down muddy turf and/or sand one may first want to high lift the vehicle up out of the "suck" and make sure the under body is clear before you winch. Those fancy vehicles has all sort of wiring, pipes and gadgets that might be separated in the suck and pull and one might need some of them to drive home.
Now, us poor meer mortals in Namibia have to make do with robust Defenders so we have less worries.
But, from up here, to down there, you doing splendid mates end I hope when you come visit you give us a telegram.
Contact us LRON. Look us up on the web. Land Rover Owners Namibia. It's just as warm up here, but beer is colder....

This is a great video on techniques which is exactly what I was looking for. Don't get me wrong here but for some reason, this video has a Russell Cought feel. I think it's based on the way the video has been put together...

Except the Prado, their tie down points are probably stronger than hitch points.
