      Thank you Sandra... they are different than cast iron pan fried which I, and I'm sure a lot people are used to, but still surprisingly good!!..I just got finished reheating and eating the only one left and it did that well too!!! Thank you for watching!!!

    Southern Cooking S R Dull. Book came in yesterday. For a Northern man of 70 y..o., this is an amazing collection. I'll be busy for quite a while. Thanks for the tip. I'm thinking, if the recipe is not in there, you do not need it.

    I can't say they were better than my mom's because she'd get me for it!

    Thanks for the recipe and video! I grew up in North AL and we did the salmon like you did. However, mom crushed up 1/2 to a sleeve of saltines and one egg to make them. Yummy

      I make mine with saltine crackers and egg also. I roll the patties in breadcrumbs. I haven't made them due to the mess but will make them in the Foodi tonight. Can't wait!

    the ones not sprayed did not get as browned but would have if sprayed right? I am a little late because I just got mine 5/2020 and love it

    Great video as always! I saved it to my Recipe Keeper and will be giving it a try in the near future. I ALWAYS have trouble figuring out what sides to eat with almost ANY main dish. What do you eat with salmon patties?

      @@JohnSanders Sounds good. I MIGHT even try some parmesan zucchini chips (silver dollar-sized fries) that I just discovered. I'll have to cook them in my Breville Smart Oven Air while the salmon is in the Foodi.

    I never remove skin or bones. Smash it all together. The bones are so soft, you‘ll never know they’re there.

      i heard somewhere the skin holds all those magic vitamins salmon is famous for. the rest of the salmon has some but that little bit of skin is amazing. but.....i think being canned those vitamins dissipate into the meat. just wishful thinking?

      @@JohnSanders mash the bones with your fingers, they just disappear and you never know they are in there! It also increases the healthiness of the patties, as it increases the calcium. It is also healthier to leave the skin, with its Omega 3 oil, but I don't because it makes it taste a bit too fishy to me.

    I like minced celery in them, in addition to minced onion. The flavor is so much better. I like to put a little mashed potatoes instead of part of the flour...keeps them from being too fishy.

    Salmon croquettes and salmon patties are two different things. You're making salmon patties, my Mom made those but also sometimes made the croquettes. She mounded the salmon mixture into sort more of a rounded cone shape, fried as usual and made a cream (white sauce) and when the sauce was done, dropped in some frozen peas (not cooked just put into the hot sauce). This would be poured over the salmon. It was delicious!

    I use ground pork rinds and almond flour instead of flour and corn meal. They turn out great.

    why couldn't you do just like you did with the exception of turn on the broil mode for maybe 1 or 2 minutes to brown them more ifn youn want them more brown and crispy
    I am going to do some of them this week ,haven't had any in probably 35 oor 40 years my mom made them in that same recipe and fried them in an iron skillet

      That might be a good idea... especially for ninja because it will go up to 450 but the vortex tops out at 400... maybe the last 5 minutes... thanks and thanks for watching!!!

      John Sanders 😂 I’m from South Louisiana. My dad didn’t learn to speak English until he started school. He spoke only French.
      I’m helping a friend purchase an air fryer for her elderly mother and sister. So I’m really enjoying your air fryer videos. I don’t have an air fryer yet but do you have a 6 quart instant pot and watched the one you did with the air fryer lid. I’m thinking of getting that for myself.

    The reason they aren’t as brown is because you sprayed the ninja grill....that makes a difference

    Looks delicious! I'm making these tomorrow! In case you're interested, Air Fryer Recipes with Booger500US, has some really great air fryer cooking techniques. One of my favorites is to spritz the tops of "fried" foods about halfway through cooking with a tad of oil for crispness and browning. I think butter might work with the patties, too.

      Thanks...I am not sure that these could have benefited from extra oil add they were will coated at the beginning adding it in the middle seems to affect crispiness when I have tried it... thanks for watching!!!

    You should really try bread crumbs instead of flour. The Bread Crumbs leave a more crispy flavor and not as 'doughy' as using flour.

      I beg to differ but only because it has flour in the mix and if you look at the chart I follow for food temps... blog.thermoworks.com/thermometer/chef-recommended-tw-approved/
      It clearly shows biscuits (which are made using the same flour recommends 200° farenheit internal temp to be done and that is what I gaf in mind... but that is the first time I've ever temped salmon patties...lol... and not sure if lower temp would be ok... they were very good though and that matters most... thanks for watching!!!
