The YD2-Z is always going to be much better platform compare to the RMX 2.5. Yokomo has a lot more aftermarket upgrade option parts from its own company and from other companies like Reve D, Overdose, Rhino Racing, and another few companies. Yokomo also can share parts with their older model chassis like the YD2-E all the way to its latest MD1.0 chassis. I have myself an YD2 AC RTR which is basically a YD2-E chassis and I did a full YD2-Z transmission swap on it so I can get that high motor position that I’ve always wanted.
Just getting back in rc again.. many many tamiyas when I was young 1980s just got a new ammria truck with nimh batteries to start off before lipos is it the opposite of lipos for storage? I've never had a drift car but this thing looks fun. Can someone explain what's going on with the motor. Why do they want it mounted high up like that?
I've been into rc forever but always wanted to get into rc drifting but not sure which rtr to go with. I was thinking the mst forsure but now I don't know lol.
If I remember right, the Sport 4 Drift is a 4WD sedan with drift tires installed, so it slides but it's more like a powersliding car. This drift car is RWD only and is specially designed for drifting and only drifting, so it has maximum steering angle, weight placed back, adjustable motor height and other adjustments specific to drifting. Most competitive drifting is RWD only, no 4 wheel. -Brett
I'd like to see a 3-way comparison between these two and the Redcat RDS ready-to-run. I know there are a few other reviews like that on RUclips, but curious to hear what Bret and Amain have to say. I also know the RDS is more expensive and comes with more carbon fiber.
@@fazz909Those cars are very hard to get. The best method is to backorder the car you want, reserving the car for you, and we ship the car when it arrives in stock. We wish we had more cars to sell, but stock is limited. -Brett
The one I bought for my brother turned out to be a way~ more of a hassle.. I had to put a V4 yokomo gyro instantly because the stock gyro wouldnt leave program mode. then it ran the servo hotter than it should be.. Soo... I had to throw a reve-d servo in it. Its going to take a lot to make one of these rtrs competitive but the options are endless on the Yokomo side of things. Ive done a lot to mine and its dialed👌🏻
Your 100% right. It pretty crazy how much some of this stuff matters in drifting but it makes it way more rewarding. Have a good one!@@donavinmoller2432

Bro, trying to tell people If they’re serious about drifting, go with the yokomo is comedy. The only thing that car has going for it is its name.
For me it is a pleasure to see those rc cars drifting 😊
I absolutely love my Yokomo, building it with Japanese only instructions was a fantastic experience, lol
Yup! I heard what you were saying about the tires. You did pretty slick on that track. could def see the difference between the tire sets.
Glad I bought a RD 1.0 (which this classic is) and went brushless lol.
For the price, Ill keep my RMX and FXX. Good video, Brets got those drifto skillz
RMX has a way nicer break disk. the Yokomo entry level gyro seams not working very well with the standard slow servo.
Can you make an upgrade video on this car ? How to change motor to brushless
I seen this RC car on a drift track it looks like it is for beginners and I'm sure it's upgradeable as well
I’m thinking about starting off with this and putting upgrades just so I have a base

here in australia, the yokomo is $400aud cheaper than the mst, know what i’m gonna be going with!
Locked diff or very tight ball diff is better than an open diff unless u wanna be messing around filling diffs with thick oils
How did you remove the black metal where the spur is connected for it to be adjusted? @ 3:02 time Just pull it?

Hey, Can You Guys Do A Review On The Scx24 4WS And the upgrades that can go on it?
I've never had a drift car but this thing looks fun. Can someone explain what's going on with the motor. Why do they want it mounted high up like that?
Higher center of gravity in the rear means that it's easier to throw the weight around.
Not to mention almost any conversion is based off a yd2 so you’ll have everything you need to do a conversion like a shark.
Sharks don’t convert into anything. They always keep their form.
I got mine but my reverse is foward what can it be

as someone that just got a rmx 2.5 its a great option just order the right battery
Price difference is CRAZY here in AUS. The MST is double the price of the yokomo here.
It's not though? Yokomo is like $500 while the rmx is around $750 and that comes with a transmitter when the yokomo doesn't.
Can u put more of your cars in stock plsssss
