A long time ago, when I was a little board game piece, I actually saw a big parallel between Rena and Maria. Both are firm believers and somewhat similar in their reaction to their environment. Both have bad parents, learned to look after themselves from a young age, have moments of deep wisdom and have a feminine demeanor etc.
