If Ninja Theory made this an original IP and took away all the DMC characters, DMC name etc, I honestly would have accepted this as a brand new franchise that was simply just inspired by DMC.
Capcom should have just tried to make something new

Capcom probably looked at this and thought it's would be cool if we gave Vergil a Doppelganger in Dmc5, but let's try to make it much epic and less cringe.. lol

Actually the doppelgänger doesn’t even work properly at all in DMC 5. Meanwhile it works perfectly in the reboot.
