Awesome been looking for this gem. As live as it got back then for the singing part before they used alot of backing vocals on tour. They can all sing Awesome just didn't know why they didn't do it more.
I love these guys for many a decade now. But I have to say, Sweet Donnie does not sound good here. I'm glad to hear them live! I'd rather hear them live and off key vs. Hangin' tough live and it's mostly lip sync. Don't get me wrong. I love the lip sync and backing tracks too but they do not sound awesome, amazing, etc. IMO. Even Donnie came on late night and admitted their love vocals sucked in those early years. They certainly have got better with age tho. I was pleasantly surprised a few years ago how their vocals, especially Donnie's had grown since the Hanging tough days.

Yo I 110% couldn't agree with you more!! THANK YOU FOR ALL THESE VIDEOS OMFG!!!! I LOVE these guys & have been dying to see this finally. They are straight up singing live & using backing tracks to enhance the song. Very common & has nothing to do with not singing live BUT you know they twist shit & make it seem like it's the other way around which just makes me furious!!! I'm gonna go ahead & say Greg fuckd this up on purpose! He was responsible for the track playback & given what he did not to long after this I really believe he did this on purpose. It give the impression that they were trying to lipsync when the leads were 100% live!! Ugh sorry for rambling I just can't stand lies & these guys have been lied on enough when they did not deserve it! Side note I actually opened for Jordan when he was touring solo!!!!!!!! Needless to say it was such an amazing moment for me. I messed up a great career I was starting to have cause of some problems along the way & lost everything 😢 but I got better & plan on opening for them soon. I'm gonna keep trying till the end @least lol! Thank you again for all your videos!!! It really is priceless
Damn I forgot to say THAT IS HOW YOU CLOSE A SHOW! Incredible songwriting by Maurice Starr!! Make no mistakes their songs were hits cause they were great songs!
I am 13 and I always look for old videos and things of new kids on the block because I want to see what they were like back then because I love them so much now and I am so glad that people like you take the time to upload things like this!! Its awesome, so thank you so much for posting❤😊😇💟 Also what year was this?!
I just realized something funny: Due to the playback in some parts of the song, the voices are uncoordinated with respect to the song since the voices of the original recording of the song acapella goes a little faster than the live version
Part of me loves this video because it made me realize that I can do this too but I also hate it because it made me realize the lack of standard in the music industry
So the story is that right before this performance their manager realized how bad they sounded so they paid for a super expensive synth to play their lead vocals over the live band but never really rehearsed with it 😅 arsenio hall required bands to play live and this was how they got around it 😮
