Hello, I’m Joe - I’m a guitar player, singer-songwriter, producer, recording engineer and teacher!
On this channel you’ll find my original songs, covers and solo fingerstyle guitar arrangements. My favorite music doesn’t fit neatly in a box so you may hear me play folk, blues, jazz, & classic rock - you can call it what you want; I feel honored to speak this timeless language of melody, harmony & rhythm.
I was born on May 25th 1991 in Kempsey, NSW, Australia. Since 2010 I have been based in the US and currently live in the Rocky Mountains of Montana with my wife, Genevieve (who teaches illustration on RUclips!).
I play Maton acoustic guitars, made in Australia (just like me) and am very proud to have my own signature instrument, the JR Signature!
In addition to song performances, you will also find guitar lessons, chord breakdowns, TAB, tutorials, gear reviews and other guitarist related content to help you stay inspired on the instrument.
I stream high quality livestream concerts regularly, if you’d like to be notified when I announce a livestream, you can put your email in here: joes.lnk.to/Li...
Please subscribe and ring the bell etc. 🔔
Cheers!

That's Django Reinhardt, Atkins, Reed and Emmanuel all in one player. This is not showing of, this is a display of a deep love and understanding of both music and your instrument. Amazing!
Joe Ardanillo true that you know words are e ambiguous sounds are sublime purrrr my beautiful heart!!
good maton!!
I stumbled upon this kid on RUclips a few years ago & been jonesing to see him live ever since. What an amazing talent.
Chet Atkins must be smiling up in heaven, his legacy continues from Tommy Emmanuel and now to this extremely young talent. Thank God for them...
Indeed!
Chet would have played it cleanly and dispassionately. Chet never played sloppily.
@@robertlee8042 And he wouldn't judge other people for how they play it he would appreciate its being played
I can see the force of Emmanuel is strong with this one!
Thankyou Fegal! TE is a big inspiration to me
well said mate
Australia just has great, brain melting, guitarists growing off trees! From rockers such as Angus & Malcolm Young to some of the proteges of Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed: e.g. Tommy and Phil Emmanuel, Michael Fixx, Steuie French, and now this young man -- Smokin' Joe Robinson! There are dozens of others I've heard who are to say the least, amazing.
salute to the player, the audience, the camera man, the sound engineer, the lighting man....what a way to enjoy a beautiful music
great
I have been playing the guitar for over twenty years and not many guitarists, me included, can reach or have the ability to reach this level, this kid is a special, special talent obviously influenced by Tommy E, but now finding his own style, great to listen to, great to watch and with a tremendous future ahead of him. go smokin' go !!
ギターの神!
Discovered smokin' Joe in 2021!
That monster stretch at 1:15 is unbelieveable.
Wow.......high energy.....beautiful job ...thanks Joe for sharing your talent
Hey Joe.."where you're going with that guitar in your hand". Amazing!!
I thought I'd heard Misty played just about every way possible. So this 18 yo kid from Australia comes along and plays the melody and string bass parts at the same time, along with a well timed key change and some harmonics thrown in. You gotta be friggin kiddin me!! AMAZING! Chet's up on his chair in heaven just smiling away!
perfection... ten fingers workin' together flawlessly... if I could play half as good I would die a happy old hippy...yep and Amen.
Average guitarists like myself will always wish we could play this well. He truly is "smokin."and
going to have a great career ahead. You deserve all the best Joe Robinson.
Are you kidding me? Who is this? PERFECT music.
Excellent job! Chet at his best.... 18 people on RUclips give thumbs down because they are so very jealous....
The harmonics of Eric Johnson, the precision of Chet Atkins, the bass lines and rhythm of Tuck Andress, with the facial expressions of Roy Clarke. HOLY SHIT, this guy's AMAZING!!!
wow, amazing playing
Fantastic guy
Hello Joe!
I admire your playing and your courage at such a young age.
I wish you all best!
Staffan
BLOWN AWAY....Literally... O_O
so good
+Mario Camarena Yo man! Seen your stuff in CHON (love it by the way), have you ever tried anything in this style? I personally find it even more difficult than your stuff, which is saying something!

Marvelous Guitar on this planet ~!!!
Bravo Joe!!!=))
Great arrangement and playing wow ...I just saw him last nite with tommy emmanuel, and you can just see how he will blossom as he gets older. Good, luck on your career I'll be buying your music.
He has got something. Something that will help to reach very high. And does anybody know what dvd or concert is this video from?
superb. you're brilliant
ATTA BOY!!...THAT IS KILLER!!!
Fantastic Joe!
blown away , what an incredible talent. Tommy Emmanuel will have some one to pass the torch to. He will only get better as he matures.
this guy is the definition of badass on a guitar...holy crap!
The unbelievable Joe Robinson
Great performanced Joe 👍👍
@AritasLTU This was recorded/broadcasted from the Leverkusen Jazz festival in 2009! Unfortunately there's no DVD from this concert. Joe was there again in 2010, sharing the night with Paco de Lucia and Al di Meola... it was just amazing!!
awesome jazz player, love how he puts the bass in
you are superb
I feel so good !!!
Wow... crazy good! Thanks.
Bravo !!!
Joe! Awesome!
What a genius
man I wish I could write like that
Extremely talented 5/5
This kid is going to be a legend. He is a modern day Lenny Breau. Great technique and feel. Amazing!!!
One of my all time favorite songs. Your amazing Joe!
Really Nice! It seems like his guitar is about to start dancing!!
Great playing!
parabens cara vc e dimais
awesome
Very nice playing, indeed. I detect a Martin Taylor influence with the walking bass. Joe's timing is superb and he gives a beautifully controlled flawless performance.
Crazy good!
Just amazing. This guy is my idol
Wow amazing skill,,
A very good, creative, versatile picker. What he does smoothly (with a continous bassline and melody simultaneously) is not easy by any means, even modulating mid-stream. Wow! I have only recently heard of him. But I'll be checking him out from now on. A major talent. I want to hear how he sounds on a slow song, too. .
outstanding...wow
um...wow...just fucking wow...I have renewed hope for the future of music.
This kid is incredible, i want to learn how to pick like this so bad. I wonder if he uses an open tuning in some of his stuff. He is definetly a musical genius !!!!! Hes got the whole band with his guitar, listen to the bass lines hes throwing down awesome, hopefully i get to see ya in concert some day
Hey joe, amazing stuff-saw you and Tommy in Troy, great show...new fan!
Wow, thats beautiful!
talk about creating your own future! joe is a good example of someone who sticks to his guns over long periods of time and focuses on real possibilities that life has to offer...strange for such a young kid, but inspiring.....a live wire for sure this boy!
Amazing!
Man, this is just unbelievable!
F***! Amazing!
@BraLE77 He is actually playing the bas notes with his thumb pick, if you look close enough you will notice his index finger moving around the E and A strings a lot :)
Incredible as always :)
What a talent! :)
I love it❤️
Super!!!
Thankyou!
WoW, this is perfect. And the sound is awesome :)
Can't wait to see what he does in the future.
Strange this guy stopped playing on RUclips! He is so good. He is busy on his band I guessed!
Love it when folks criticize without a link to their better performance. Great job Joe.
Hey Joe thats so wonderfull thank you for that :D....just AMAZING
Where can I get these on tab???
hi joe ! did u use compressor for this one ?
Hi Dani! No, I've never used a compressor pedal live
This is amazing.
: - o cant close my mouth! Where is the guy playing the big bass-cello hiding?
Brilliant Joe.
Thanks for sharing.
very nice~!!
I'm a fan. You're impressive.
Guitarists are evolving. Getting better and better. This guy is great and will surpass Tommy Emmanuel.
very true
good tha maton
imagine when he grows up!!!
He has grown up and his music went to the wrong direction
I am a big George Benson fan. I did not think anyone could play jazz on a guitar as well as George Benson. Until now.
At the end, everybody in the audience is thinking: '...dammit, I'm so normal'. ^_- GREAT playing, I'm completely blown away!
madò !
walkin bass..nice :) keep it alive man :) ..
Wait! How'd you do that magic trick? Awesome!
We're praying for you Joe..... Jesus is alive, don't doubt it for a second!
凄いギャロッピングだにゃ
OMG!!
See a little of Tommy in this one. very good.
Nice! Chet Atkins would have been very proud of you.
* Superb musicianship - elevated artistic expression of the highest order ✨
That does it. I'm taking up watercolours.
This song is so awesome. The first time I heard it was Ray Steven's cover.
That is what fingerpicking is all about. Using your thumb as a "bass player". They really use this. An additional bass player just gives something more to the music, but it is pure acoustic guitar.
Tommy Emmanuel has a genuine successor in Joe Robinson.
@noelmeehan Yes it is amazing how these guys approach guitar. I have been playing since 1975 and it was not until 1998 i discovered the Chet Atkins style and my playing greatly improved. For yrs i played classical guitar but evolved into more arrangements done in a Chet style. I have not learned any Tommy Emmanuel arrangements yet. I don't know if i have the energy. He plays so aggressive.
