  • This is just my prediction of what it'll be like if Universal Pictures Home Entertainment UK re-released "Dougal and the Blue Cat" since PolyGram had been folded into Universal Pictures. But it was just a thought.
Here's some historical notes about the video release of "Dougal and the Blue Cat". Back in 1989, Channel 5 Video, technically owned by Heron and PolyGram, first released the classic film. Over the next ten years, PolyGram Video had re-released the film as they own the home video rights before Second Sight Films acquired the film rights.

What if The Magic Roundabout was released by Universal or Lionsgate?

I think a reason for that is because of MGM owning PolyGram's pre-1996 film library. Meanwhile NBCUniversal owns its film library from 1996 up until it was folded into Universal. Could be wrong though

MGM originally released the film in 1973 with EMI (as MGM-EMI). So if they did re-release it, that means they would have lost the rights then got them back again.
