What a great guy. Clearly, he is quite intelligent and hard working. And, I agree that he is an inspiration to families with children of special needs who come into the hospital. Good for everyone that this man has a decent job.
“Do you like the paperwork?” “Not really, but it needs to be done.” The way he takes the less pleasurable parts of his job in stride is honestly enviable. Here’s hoping he’s still doing good out there.
So beautiful im crying...I am a mother to a child with downs next week will be 4 yrs since he's been gone ,thank you all who give our children a chance it means alot ❤️❤️❤️❤️
This just goes to show that people with any disability whether it be a physical disability like myself or an intellectual disability are valuable assets in any job. I've worked with people with downs syndrome and let me tell you they always no matter what have positive attitudes day in and day out
You are my inspiration!! I have an older brother who my parents adopted even though he had fetal alcohol syndrome. My parents have done everything they can for all 9 of us but he still struggles. Now that were all grown he's still trying find his way and this story will lift his spirits, and my entire family. Your awesome so thank you ❤💙💛💚💜🖤
Good. I love to see people with disabilities doing such great work and being acknowledged for their character and ability, not defined by their situation.
Not gonna lie, I was expecting him to only be a "morale" employee, there to escort patients inside and make their day easier because of his personality, you know, the usual things you'd expect from a Down's syndrome person. But no, they have him doing some of the business/office/paperwork part of the job too. That's awesome!
Down syndrome people can do anything in life, I just now watched a video about Down syndrome inclusion, or rather disability inclusion. Even autistic people are working at hospitals nowadays. ❤❤❤
Back when I was once working as a volunteer retail worker, one of my coworkers had special needs. But he was the best worker in the store in my opinion. When I mentioned this to one of the staff she told me that he couldn’t get a job because as soon as he goes to the interview and they take one look at him they immediately decide not to pick him. Having down syndrome doesn’t make you stupid. It just means your brain works differently. This guy has an actual job too. Its not simple mindless work that a lot of other people with down syndrome have. He does paperwork and everything. Thats awesome!
let me tell you Iam also a person with special needs and I WORKED at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for 30 years aka hospital known as C.H.O.P. and it was a wonderful expepirence I WAS BLESSED
It may seem “scary” but I think society should allow more people with disabilities to study the disabilities they might have. We’d probably get some real progress and answers as to why certain conditions are worse or more fatal than others. I feel like it’s only the “norms” of society who would be afraid. I could imagine people with disabilities would want to be seen in certain work forces. Society treats anyone who isn’t “normal” as a total outcast & im sure it sucks
He’s got work stress, relationship stress, parents on his back to get a full time job. Sounds just like the rest of us! You’re an inspiration!
Kek 💀
im late to the story but he really is an inspiration. i have an high functioning autistic brother and it gives me hope for the future !
And he has such a good attitude about it all!! Probably such a sweetheart!!
