I just wanted to see windows 7 areo make a come back!
ikr
And oh hey, waiting before this comment blows up!
And I just wanted to see you post this comment.
Hello
Like Microsoft is gonna bring back things people love
i still cant get over that they are ACTUALLY moving to windows 11 after what they said about 10 lol
Ikr. I don’t mind since it’s always feels fresh with a brand new OS
LoL, does no one remember that Microsoft did the same thing when Windows XP was released? They said that XP will be the 'final' version that we will get.
It is probably for profit- many PC users will upgrade.
My guess is still they do that to not let people think macOS is more advanced than Windows.
Now whether that's the case or not is debatable - I am using Linux so anything Apple does sounds dated - but in the end I don't think people should bother about version numbers to begin with.
@@MegaManNeo I have used Linux for a long time now, tried so many distros but they don't satisfy me, the drivers are not that well optimized, that's why I am still sticking to Windows, and I can get all my favorite apps on it
UPDATE 2: Here's my tour of the first Windows 11 Insider Preview: ruclips.net/video/PI3kmRupFr4/видео.html - enjoy 😇
UPDATE: Windows 11 will be available to the public in fall (32-bit is no longer supported). To check for compatibility, run PC Health Check (you can download it on the Windows 11 website).
Enjoy the extra episode! I couldn't resist covering the leak, and I'm sorry I couldn't get to it as early as I wanted to! Also, Microsoft just hosted their Windows 11 event, so I'll try to show more features when I can get my hands on a "non-leaked" build. ; ) 🔔
Finally!!
I was waiting for this episode
hi
Windows 11 only work on UEFI I think that mac book is still legacy??
Yes
If I remember right (typing thi sat the start,) the "N" versions comply with various European regulations (or lawsuits) that don't have certain features installed by default. (Like Edge, I think.)
Yep it lets you choose from a list of browsers to install at installation instead of just setting Edge as the default.
as well with several media codec, media player, etc.
But „we“ European wanted this from 2004 on, and by that time Edge wasnt a thing. But you are right, its because the system bundling with IE and Media Player!
But its a placebo, NOBODY ever used the N Version! No one 🤪
The “K” (Korean) Versions has a Similar Scenario
N will NOT include any media features such as Movies & TV and Legacy WMP
The N version of Windows is a version that is released in Europe. This version comes whit out media applications pre-installed like Windows Media Player, Videos, Groove Music etc.
And all these Windows versions, when MacOS and Linux distros, generally have one single version with everything installed or access to everything in one single app store. And if you do not fancy the app store on Linux, then there is usually one single universal program to install everything in one single click. Windows are so behind everything else on these points.
@user Yup.... The issue with Windows, is that users have become customed to a specific work flow. Much like Mac users. And that is still MS's greatest advantage. Between teens and people in their 20's, it is gaming. People over 30 usually game on consoles anyway. Or like me, consoles and Amiga/C64. However, I will not say that MS is shit. It is just its own thing and too insecure. I say fine in regards to Win as a gaming platform, however everyone should get a second computer, a laptop, and have Linux installed for home banking and email. Or any other personal and sensitive info. Also there are stuff that MS does, that are cool. Like Flightsim and contributing to Linux.
The taskbar icons being centered makes it look like Chrome OS
wait, so Chorme OS, Mac OS and NOW WINDOWS HAVE CENTERED (taskbar) ICONS?! Microsoft, Apple and Google should team up and They should become a triopoly together :D
@@PrivacyNProgramming that’s called a triopoly. Monopoly but with 3 entities
Derick Rademacher oh, ok

macOS Dock. Everyone copied it.
I got the same “Your computer can’t run Windows 11” error, and I got around it by installing Windows 10 first, then using the Setup program for Windows 11 to upgrade it. It’s convoluted, but it worked.
How do I get that to work?..even with an install of Win10?...I have thew ISO...and it won't update or do anything when I try....any help would be appreciated...
The real hype is Vinesauce making a "Destroying Windows 11" Video :D
@Deborah Ajao Ah no he just makes Windows Destruction Livestreams and videos where he installs a bunch of viruses..
@FlameHDTV Yeah!
Cant wait to see Jobel install more crappy midis and desktop agent pets on windows 11
@@renhaker Neopets free Widget version no scam
Who's "Vinesouce"? I know who Vinesauce is, but not Vinesouce.
This seems to be an UX team build, meaning all actual feature updates are in a separate build, which they'll merge with this one later. Other theory is that the features are locked down, kind of like they did with Windows 7 and 8 leaked builds.
Just wait another 10-15 years from now and someone's going to do a RedPill equivalent to this.
Oh. Huh...
Neat.
I think Microsoft wanted it to be leaked. Just to build hype.
Maybe
Same
they instantly said "this is just the beggining" as a reaction so yea i think this was a publicity stunt
@@relyucc1345 Yea... This was what pretty much confirmed it.
This wasn't actually intended; the guy who leaked it got fired. But they also realized the PR benefit so they sort of acknowledged it on Twitter.
Yooooo, I should've known you'd make an Installation Sensation episode for this! This is gonna be awesome. Better get the popcorn...
Truly!
There are two possible situations that happened with this leaked build:
A: Microsoft leaked it on purpose to drive up the hype, especially with what they tweeted "This is just the _Start"_ , so they might show even more on the event
B: They're really dumb, it leaked, and now they're panicking trying to make up something new to show at the event as in theory this leak fucked their plans
A this moment I think this was a controlled leak. Say something is forbidden and people will want it. Free advertising.
I didn't know they had a conference but I sure heard about the leak.
The leaked build is basically Windows 10 with the Windows 11 system shell running on it. It was compiled when Microsoft has just started moving things form the proper dev branch to the co_release branch so it's not feature complete
Option 3: it was leaked but it's an old build that doesn't have everything enabled
@@TheTytan007 I mean that's how every new OS upgrade is
The way that it was leaked was through a chinese OEM, but yeah maybe they leaked it on purpose but I doubt it
The Explorer UI is a mess. It's like the Office ribbon came up from behind on it.
Its actually pretty clean compared to what windows 10 has
@@ataparag232 It's a Frankenstein of what it is and where it should be.
@@mvmnt. this is most likely a very early build. The final build will probably be nothing like this.
@Jd clearly MS read this 👀
“To make my life a living Dell.” got a good laugh out of me, thank you
The one thing I hope they will bring back is the ability to have small icons on the taskbar and make it a thinner taskbar. Also, would love to have the labels too...I still like that more retro look.
@@WindowsOnWindows Okay. Yeah hopefully!
@Marc Carran Oh really?? Awesome!
in 2015 Microsoft thought they were following Apple's lead by just updating 10 but in 2020 Apple Switched to MacOS 11 then in 2021 MacOS 12
RIP
1:53 N editions just don't contain Windows Media Player and if I remember correctly, it doesn't also contains codecs (But all they are can be installed via Media Feature Pack update.).
SOG “use a VM in case the ISO file has a virus”.
Ken: “Eh just throw it on a Mac” 😂
haha funny chubby indian guy go sog
@@goodrun88 Eh SOG has his moments where he’s not the best, and sometimes has stupid jokes, but I like how he explains stuff to people who Aren’t tech inclined.
Like...before watching him I didn’t even know what VM’s were or that they existed. (I probably sound stupid, just wasn’t exposed to them)
10:28 Windows 7 activation keys still working on Windows 11 the way they still do with Windows 10 was by far my main concern about the new OS! I'm so glad you tried that out! (Even if, of course, that might change with the final release). Also, you morphed vocally into some sort of Clint impersonation for a while after turning to Dark Mode, and it felt spontaneous too, cool!
LGR?
@@DiabloXL69 Yes.
Installer still looks like Vista and I'm sure if you go a level deep in the OS it still looks like Windows 95
Or xp, since its nt
Or 2000, it’s built in NT Technology!
OMMGGF IT LOOKS LIKE BIOS
Probably not. 95 was DOS based, 11 is NT based.
@@ojaskashyap5839 Um no it doesn’t look like bios my guy
Fun fact: In the russian version of windows xp, It says "Πyck" Instead of "Start"

nice. best feature aligning start to left. i am gonna miss the live titles they are cool :(. new icons for the photos music folder
My favorite part of Windows 11, apart from the whole new UI, is that they changed the visuals of the whole Win32 library (rounded buttons, new radio buttons and checkboxes, etc). It really needed a redesign after almost 9 years.
Steve Jobs will be very happy of the rounded corners.
Idk, but windows 11 looks better on a Mac than it does on a pc, might be the rounded corners or new animations lol
The installation issue you were having happened to me too, it's usually a TPM (Trusted Platform Module) issue
You also need Secure Boot and UEFI, but Macs do have it (I think)
Love the glassing effect!
Nice! But Dark mode is not finished there XD
I would love to see a classic Software Showcase video on Windows 11 when it comes out
The highlight fade thing around the settings buttons was in Windows 10
They had to merge the search to the start menu experience. Give it a back button when transitioning between Windows Search and Start Menu.
Aside, just revive the Windows Timeline, it'll look good. Cortana uses dedicated dock icon, or just app icon in start menu to pin too.
“Steve Jobs would be happy” only that now he’d have a new thing to sue over… Also I appreciated the brief glimpse at the host macOS UI right before that line.
The "This PC can't run Windows 11" error, you need to enable/activate TPM or FTPM in the BIOS. Secure boot must also be enabled. Not sure how you would change these with an iMac. These may not be final requirements, it could be required because this is Dev build. I have it personally installed on a laptop with a 3rd gen i7.
So no non uefi systems? Shit
@@virtualtools_3021 theres a way
Copy the install.wim folder from the Windows 11 ISO into the Windows 10 Installer, it should install just fine
5:12 I think the boot up sound is made of Minecraft noteblocks. It sounds really similar to noteblocks or even one of the music discs you can find in Minecraft.
really enjoyed this episode. Keep going on Bro
Thank you 😇
Hopefully you can change the start menu to ‘classic’. I can get used to it but Im not a huge fan. Dark mode looks great though. Hopefully HDR is a little more functional too.
It will be interesting to see how quickly Win11 is adopted by the public.
You can change it to the Win10 start
@@realIncognitoTGT Thanks for confirming that!
This build has SO many new little things in it which I PRAY signals bigger and better new things to come. What did we get? New boot screen, Windows logo, Start menu, taskbar, animations, icons, sounds, wallpapers, themes... did I miss anything?! PUMPED for 24th June! *channels inner Panos*
My name is Panos too 😂
I wonder what kind of blue screen we will get in Windows 11🤣🤣
Still this is an amazing video, and it is a FIRE 🔥🔥 Keep it up, Ken!
I think you were the only person that I've seen actually use a product key to activate Windows 11. That dark mode is really nice looking.
I thought they advertised Windows 10 as "The final Windows OS." As they were saying they were going to give it constant updates.
To no surprise.
They did the same thing with XP iirc
One developer said that. No one that was actually in charge ever said that
I’m getting lots of macOS vibes, but I’m not complaining. If it works it works
Complete rip off, right down to the Dock. Just look at all that innovation.
I remember watching the game windows 10 technical preview video before windows 10 came out!
I love the episode! Keep it up!
Why is Microsoft jumping up on these siplicated logos crap in Windows?
Can we get aero back ffs😩 or at least a fully functional official windows 7 theme pack
I fully agree with you!
They should add both that and a theme with the improved Aero titlebars from Windows 8 Release Preview.
Great review dude :)
Just installed this on a spare drive, really smooth so far but seems just to be W10 with new sounds and a different skin. You can make it work on hardware by getting a Windows 10 install ISO, going to the sources folder, and copying “appraiser.dll” “appraiser.sdb” and “appraiseress.dll” from that Windows 10 sources folder to the same folder of the Windows 11 installer (overwrite the W11 ones with W10)
imo the ui looks kinda generic. With things like: offwhite, round, minimalist icons...
I wish they did a unique design
Anytime MS tries to do something unique.....the tech cry babies start whining cuz MS changed something....
Apple: DLL, Registry, Disk Defragger; no end user should ever have to know about that.
Shared program files; database of file infrastructure and; automatically runs in the background.
So...we don't know about that.
hmm..
Filesystem database actually goes way back - BFS and BSD way before that. 25 years.
dll vcruntime42.dll not found
Ending of the outro music sounds like 'Tubelectric Remix' from Jazz Jackrabbit 2. I love it :3
It looks nice. If they can fix the stuff that still looks like Windows 10, 7, Vista, XP, 2000, 95, and 3.1 the interface will be really nice
The N edition is just an edition without Media Feature Pack (Windows Media Player)
does that mean all video format are not supported?
@communistshitpost9 European sued Microsoft and force them to make an edition without Media Feature Pack, and yep, this is for European
@@ThunderBird0510 idk tho, maybe, i havent tried this before
@@fivewings2k6 You can still download the Media Feature Pack if you have N (Europe) or KN (South Korean) versions!
It's just not bundled with a clean install of the system.
Feels like Windows is trying to be Linux. Just the feeling I'm getting.
Exactly! I got a strange feeling of navigating through a hybrid linux distro (mostly kde vibes with fedora workspaces thrown in the mix) while going through this new windows build
action center has ronunded corners though. just only floating effect would make it awesome! hope to see that in june 24
Hi Ken, firstly, thank you for your time and effort making this video. Secondly, I don't have good feeling about Windows 11. Speak for myself, Windows 10 is the worst system I have ever used. I am a freelance photographer, my editing software often crash mid of editing process. And, sometimes, after update , I lost files. I have the backup, but, it's annoying. Such a thing never happened to Window 7. Cheers.
Thanks to offshoring. Highly skilled and talented. Before offshoring most software worked perfectly. Always. Send Nutella a note thanking him. And Azim Premji too.
I'm certain Microsoft _leaked_ that ISO on purpose, there are too many things happening right now around 11 as that it is not expected to reach the public.
Panos claims it was not on purpose, but hey… that could be cover-up for some clever marketing. Apparently this build is also very old. I'll make a new episode when the new build drops next week! Stay tuned…
Why are there sharped corners still? Because microsoft's new shell is just a wrapper
It’s not even the full final version. Internal builds never contain everything.
I was waiting for someone to do this on a Mac
There are plenty of comments about this already but you can get it installed on a Mac (and older pc's of course) if you use a Windows 10 install usb with the install.wim from Windows 11. It runs very well on my 2014 MBP.
I love the aesthetic changes. Windows 10 UI looks like it was made in half a day at a hackathon and always feels like it's gonna break any minute now.
Windows10 is rather easy to break.....
Macs don't support the leaked Win 11 build. It requires a UEFI bios with Secure Boot enabled and Trusted Platform Module 2.0 switched on. Virtualization is the easiest way to play around with this.
I installed it in a VM with secure boot disabled and it worked fine. So, it doesn't require secure boot to be enabled.
@@davidfrischknecht8261 This is configured like an OEM version of Windows. As far as I know, OEM versions of Windows do not require secure boot to be enabled when running in a VM, It has something to do with conflicting with Hyper-V
You can install Windows 11 on a Mac if you can install 10 on it. If it won’t let you, you’ll have to install 11 with the 10 setup.
You have to have a new tpms module to install windows 11 because it's biggest feature is that many important credentials have be incrypted so that the system can have better security which means that you can steal a hard drive out of a PC and plug it in as a storage drive in another PC to have full access to everything like you can with every other OS
the only true complaint I have with windows 11 is the fact that I couldn't access the sound control settings by right clicking the taskbar icon anymore, it was obnoxius to have to access it via the control panel again since I like using the sound enhancement features, and it's just easy to remember with the taskbar icon
Ken: Tries to install Windows 11 on 8 year old MacBook
Also Ken: Surprised it doesn't work
I am running the newest version of Ubuntu Mate on an 10 year old Lenovo x220. And it runs smooth and fast. I would like to experience it on a completely new laptop from 2021 though. Must be snappy and all that.
@@brostenen Welcome to the world of Linux :D
It is definitely snappier than Windows on older hardware although a lot of people on RUclips and online tend to over exaggerated how much faster it makes a computer. (Those scammy USB claiming to "resurrect" a dead laptop come to mind)

Else I have experiences with C64, AmigaOS, Os/2, MS Dos, Win9x and every Windows up to and including Win7. I started using Linux, because Unix on a Vax system (old school terminals) was a requirement to learn on the Computer education that I took back in 1995. Uhh... And I have used MacOS a number of times as well. I think the pinnacle was Snow Leopard, before they went too deep into device integration and cloud.

@@MyurrDurr It is ok. Some things it is better for, and other things you need Windows, Linux or something else for. It all depends on how you as a person use computers and how good each program are. Running Windows on a Mac
Microsoft: *Stop right there!*
Meh, Running MAC OS On a laptop that was made to run windows is way weirder.
Something funny is that almost all windows sounds are different in dark mode than light mode. They seem to have more revern and ethereal effects in dark mode.

I hate Windows 10's look but I hate the "leaked" Windows 11's look even more. Also, no live tiles? Those were the best thing in 8 and 8.1 and the only good thing that remained in Windows 10.
